God’s Love is CONDITIONAL!

GOD’S LOVE IS NOT “UNCONDITIONAL”

“God loves you unconditionally!” I challenge anybody to prove that from the Bible.

There is not one verse in the bible which unconditionally states that God loves mankind (including “professing Christians”) without conditions, His righteous conditions. Some would point to Romans 5:8“…while we were yet sinners God loved us” or John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave His only begotten Son…” in order to demonstrate God’s continuous love.

However, if one looks closely, those verses do not say that God loves mankind. They say He loved them. The Greek verb “agapao” (loved) is in the aorist tense and indicative mood, thus a single completed act; that is, not a present tense loves, but a past tense loved. Now, before you freak out, His love is AVAILABLE to everyone, this is true. Jesus died as a SIN OFFERING:

What Jesus did on the Cross was NOT take anyone’s place, BUT Provide Himself as A SIN OFFERING (Heb 9:14)

“How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”

to Ransom Man and turn him from Darkness to Light, from the Power of Satan to God! (Acts 26:18)

“To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

2Co 5:21 “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Albert Barnes explains this clearly:

“For he hath made him to be sin for us – The Greek here is, ‹for him who knew no sin, he hath made sin, or a sin-offering for us.‘ The design of this very important verse is, to urge the strongest possible reason for being reconciled to God. This is implied in the word ( γὰρ gar) “for.” Paul might have urged other arguments, and presented other strong considerations. But he chooses to present this fact, that Christ has been made sin for us, as embodying and concentrating all. It is the most affecting of all arguments; it is the one that is likely to prove most effectual. It is not indeed improper to urge on people every other consideration to induce them to be reconciled to God. It is not improper to appeal to them by the conviction of duty; to appeal to their reason and conscience; to remind them of the claims, the power, the goodness, and the fear of the Creator; to remind them of the awful consequences of a continued hostility to God; to persuade them by the hope of heaven, and by the fear of hell 2 Corinthians 5:1 l to become his friends: but, after all, the strongest argument, and that which is most adapted to melt the soul, is the fact that the Son of God has become incarnate for our sins, and has suffered and died in our stead. When all other appeals fail this is effectual; and this is in fact the strong argument by which the mass of those who become Christians are induced to abandon their opposition and to become reconciled to God.

To be sin – The words ‹to be‘ are not in the original. Literally, it is, ‹he has made him sin, or a sin-offering‘ ἁμαρτίαν ἐποίησεν hamartian epoiēsen.”

The fact that at a point in time past God acted with charity towards a sinful world by giving them a saviour, does not imply that God loves all men unconditionally. In fact, the scriptures say exactly the opposite. They say that God does not love wicked mankind and was sorry that He made them…

“The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was SORRY THAT HE HAD MADE MAN ON THE EARTH and it grieved Him to His heart” (Genesis 6:5-6)

One might argue that even though God is sorry that He made man, He still loves them despite their wickedness. You know…”God hates sin, but loves the sinner!” The problem is that popular slogan is not scriptural and was spoken by one of the most wicked men to walk the earth, Mahatma Gandhi.

Gandhi’s, a worker of iniquity, studied many religious texts and he was an abomination to Jesus.

“During his stay in South Africa, along with scriptures and philosophical texts of Hinduism and other Indian religions, Gandhi read translated texts of Christianity such as the Bible, and Islam such as the Quran.[217] A Quaker mission in South Africa attempted to convert him to Christianity. Gandhi joined them in their prayers and debated Christian theology with them, but refused conversion stating he did not accept the theology therein or that Christ was the only son of God.[217][218][219]

His comparative studies of religions and interaction with scholars, led him to respect all religions as well as become concerned about imperfections in all of them and frequent misinterpretations.[217] Gandhi grew fond of Hinduism, and referred to the Bhagavad Gita as his spiritual dictionary and greatest single influence on his life.[217][220][221]” Wikipedia

“For thou art not a God that hath pleasure in wickedness: neither shall evil dwell with thee… THOU HATEST ALL WORKERS OF INIQUITY.” (Psalms 5:4-5)

“…But The wicked and him that loveth violence HIS SOUL HATETH.” (Psalms 11:5)

“The face of the LORD is against them that do evil…” (Psalms 34:16)

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not(DOES NOT OBEY) the Son shall not see life; but the  wrath(HATRED) of God abideth on him.” (John 3:36)

WRATH(G3713): (abhorrence); by implication  punishment: – anger, indignation, vengeance, wrath

Definition of abhorrence

1a : the act or state of abhorring or despising something or someone

  • a crime regarded with abhorrence

b : a feeling of strong repugnance or disgust : loathing

  • an abhorrence of war

2: something regarded as repugnant or disgusting

  • Slavery is an abhorrence.

You are only a friend of Jesus IF you do whatosever he commends. “Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.” ( John 15:14)

Please note that the face of the Lord is not against the evil one does, it is against the one who does evil. So much for “God loves the sinner…”. The fact is that God hates both the wicked and their sins.

Think about it for a moment; if God “loves” mankind so much why did He drown the entire world but the 8 righteous (Perfect in his generations…Noah, A preacher of righteousness and his family)? Has the heart of man changed so much since the time of Noah? No, the fact is that mankind is just as wicked as ever, if not more so.

LISTEN VERY CAREFULLY and think… Am I going to be saved in my wicked sin?

2Pe 2:4 “For if God spared not the angels that sinned, but cast them down to hell, and delivered them into chains of darkness, to be reserved unto judgment;
2Pe 2:5  And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly;
2Pe 2:6  And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly”

The astonishing truth is that God did not send his Son to suffer and die for a world that He has affection for, but to die for a world that God was sorry He had made. A world filled with wicked people that He hates! And yet, despite our wickedness, God will extend love to individual men and women that choose HIM by their own free will, but, THERE ARE CONDITIONS! If we want to be loved by God we must keep His commandments. Jesus said:

“IF ye keep my commandments, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE;” (John 15:10)

“IF a man love me, he will keep my words: AND MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM,” (John 14:23)

“He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: And he that loveth me SHALL BE LOVED OF MY FATHER…” (John 14:21)

Those verses clearly say that God will love someone IF they keep His commandments. Therefore, the doctrine of God’s unconditional love of mankind is false. We must stop listening to the ear tickling sermons of modern Christianity and let the scriptures speak for themselves about whom God loves…

“The LORD loveth the righteous.” (Psalms 146:8)

“He loveth him that followeth after righteousness.” (Proverbs 15:9)

“I love them that love Me.” (Proverbs 8:17)

“…For I the LORD your God am a jealous God …showing steadfast love to thousands of those who love Me and KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.” (Exodus 20:5-6, (2nd commandment)

According to those verses, all who are not keeping the Ten Commandments of God can be certain that God does not love them. (Anything contrary is a lie.)

The sinning Christian has been repeatedly told that: “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life!” …Sadly, nothing could be farther from the truth, for their end shall be eternal destruction.

God does not hear you in your sin:

John 9:31 “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”

Rev 3:16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.
Rev 3:17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:
Rev 3:18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.
Rev 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent.
