A Few Really Obvious Ways to Spot Certain False Teachers

A Few Really Obvious Ways to Spot Certain False Teachers

Reading 1 Timothy chapter 2: “I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.  Whereunto I am ordained a preacher, and an apostle, (I speak the truth in Christ, and lie not;) a teacher of the Gentiles in faith and verity.  I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.  In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; But (which becometh women professing godliness) with good works.  Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection.  But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.  For Adam was first formed, then Eve.  And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression.  Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.”

1 Corinthians 14:34-37: “Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law.  And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.  What? came the word of God out from you? or came it unto you only?  If any man think himself to be a prophet, or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things that I write unto you are the commandments of the Lord.”

In light of the verdicts of God’s Word, all the women preaching on tv, the radio, or the internet are false teachers by virtue of what they are doing (I’ll mention one possible soon).  Women who put themselves forward to teach and lead men (i.e. women pastors and all women who attempt to preach to and teach men) are in sin and need to repent.  And all male leaders and preachers who suffer such in their churches are in sin and need to repent.   Moreover, all male leaders and preachers who allow females under their authority to show off their bodies and/or show off by displaying themselves luxuriously through elaborate hairstyles, expensive clothing, jewelry, and other means (like makeup and cosmetic surgery) are in sin and need to repent.  Any church that has women teaching, women in leadership in any way over men, or women in any way acting authority is in sin and needs to repent.   (The only exceptions might be women who are under the authority of a man and who aim their message exclusively to women to encourage and edify them in keeping with doctrine that faithful male teachers have taught the same group).

1st Timothy Chapter 3 and Titus chapter 1 absolutely command men to be elders or pastors in a church.  A woman can’t righteously be a pastor over a church or over a man in any capacity.  Women can’t righteously expound on Scripture in church or otherwise so as to try to teach men.  A woman can testify/witness on certain occasions, but never take the lead in forming doctrine nor ever be an elder/Pastor nor be a spiritual authority over men in any way.  The feminists can argue with themselves and God, but such arguments are vain.

1 Timothy 3:1-15: “This is a true saying, if a man desire the office of a bishop, he desireth a good work.  A bishop then must be blameless, the husband of one wife, vigilant, sober, of good behavior, given to hospitality, apt to teach; Not given to wine, no striker, not greedy of filthy lucre; but patient, not a brawler, not covetous; One that ruleth well his own house, having his children in subjection with all gravity; (For if a man know not how to rule his own house, how shall he take care of the church of God?)  Not a novice, lest being lifted up with pride he fall into the condemnation of the devil.  Moreover he must have a good report of them which are without; lest he fall into reproach and the snare of the devil.  Likewise must the deacons be grave, not double tongued, not given to much wine, not greedy of filthy lucre; Holding the mystery of the faith in a pure conscience.  And let these also first be proved; then let them use the office of a deacon, being found blameless.  Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things.  Let the deacons be the husbands of one wife, ruling their children and their own houses well.  For they that have used the office of a deacon well purchase to themselves a good degree, and great boldness in the faith which is in Christ Jesus.  These things write I unto thee, hoping to come unto thee shortly: But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.”

Titus 1:5-9: “For this cause left I thee in Crete, that thou shouldest set in order the things that are wanting, and ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed thee: If any be blameless, the husband of one wife, having faithful children not accused of riot or unruly.  For a bishop must be blameless, as the steward of God; not self-willed, not soon angry, not given to wine, no striker, not given to filthy lucre; But a lover of hospitality, a lover of good men, sober, just, holy, temperate; Holding fast the faithful word as he hath been taught, that he may be able by sound doctrine both to exhort and to convince the gainsayers.”

Some will cite Deborah as a Judge in Israel in the Book of Judges and cite Huldah the Prophetess from 2 Kings chapter 22 to try to justify women Pastors, to try to justify women teaching the Bible to men, and other things which, as we have seen, the Bible forbids.  Did the Apostles who wrote the New Testament not know about Huldah and Deborah?  Of course they did!  And they cited the principles of God’s Law from what we know as the Old Testament to give precedence for the things they were saying forbidding women pastors and women Bible teachers.  So unless someone thinks they know better than the Apostles, then they must confess that no godly example can be given from Scripture which can contradict the Apostle’s instructions and warrant a different conclusion from theirs.

It is notable about Deborah (if you read Judges chapter 4) that she was a judge over Israel when Israel was in bondage to Jabin, King of Canaan and to the Canaanites.  Jabin may very well have outlawed male judges among the Isrealites and forced them to put forth women to deal with their local matters.  It may be that women judges in Israel were part of God’s judgment upon them.  Isaiah chapter 3 talks about women rulers over Israel in that context.  Deborah was obviously a godly woman who sought to take a backseat to Barak, the man whom she exhorted to gather men and attack Jabin’s army to deliver Israel.  And there is no evidence from the Bible that Deborah continued as a Judge of Israel after Israel’s deliverance from Jabin and the Canaanites was complete.  If you say “there is speculation in what you just said” then I can just as easily say that you are speculating about Deborah to try to justify women in church leadership and teaching men the Bible when we are told so little in the Scriptures about how long Deborah ruled and what exactly she did as a judge.  The main difference in our speculation is that those who say what I am saying here heed the Apostles in this matter who knew more about Israel’s history, who knew the Scriptures better, and who were inspired by God’s Spirit.  Those who contend with the Apostles’ verdicts on these things obviously think that they know more than the Apostles and think they have more insight than they did.  It is notable with Huldah in 2 Kings 22 that the men came to her.  She was not confronting men nor teaching in the synagogue or the Temple nor in any position of authority in the synagogue or in the Temple.

In Acts chapter 21 we have the instance where the Apostle Paul was at the home of Philip and his four virgin daughters who prophesied, yet the message that the Lord sought to convey to Paul at that time was given through a man.

Acts 21:8-11: “And the next day we that were of Paul’s company departed, and came unto Caesarea: and we entered into the house of Philip the evangelist, which was one of the seven; and abode with him.  And the same man had four daughters, virgins, which did prophesy.  And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus.  And when he was come unto us, he took Paul’s girdle, and bound his own hands and feet, and said, Thus saith the Holy Ghost, So shall the Jews at Jerusalem bind the man that owneth this girdle, and shall deliver him into the hands of the Gentiles.”

Feminism comes from the Jezebel spirit, which we have a message on from back in 2022.  Feminism attacks God’s throne through attacking His order.  It seeks to exalt mankind over God and feminism epitomizes mankind’s stubborn, froward, hell-bent quest for personal autonomy (i.e. man’s quest to attain the thing that Satan falsely promised Eve in the garden- to practically become one’s own god).   Feminism is closely related to sexual promiscuity, abortion, and LGBT-whatever.  Feminism has obviously paved the way for all these things; and none of these things would have or could have attained a foothold in our society without the prevalence of feminism happening first.  Just knowing a bit about history and considering the timeline of history proves this.   Feminist influence has been key and essential in making such things seem normal to society, over the course of the last 140 years or so, especially the last 50 to 60 years when the feminist movement really kicked into high gear, though they were considered unthinkable by most before.  Feminism is no less evil than adultery, theft, lying, idolatry, etc.  And its influence is vast.

Women ought to be respected and regarded as having potentially useful, and even great, insights.  I believe that every church leader should make sure that his church profits from the insights of the faithful women in the church who recognize their God-given place.  I am not giving directions or advice on how to go about this, but it is proper to have times and places to ask the women what they think about a certain topic, situation, or Scripture passage so that the church as a whole can benefit from their wisdom.  When handled wisely, that is a far cry from women teaching in front of the whole church, having leadership roles over men within the church, exercising control in the church by manipulation behind the scenes, or otherwise seeking to exert power over men in the church.

Few preachers and Pastors aren’t corrupted by feminism now.  But it is better to lose your wife, your church, your ministry, etc than to yield to feminism’s influence at all.  There are many, many ways to veer from the strait and narrow way to eternal life in Jesus Christ- and in our day this is sure one of the most common, maybe the closest to universally embraced, of these false ways.  Being against feminism and its influence is not to be anti-woman.  Rather, embracing feminism’s influence is anti-Christ.

2 Timothy 2:19: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

Departing from iniquity includes departing from anything and everything opposing God’s Word, including feminism; and everything and anything stemming from its influence.”

No matter what a culture or society does, and no matter how much things change, God’s Word remains- and God’s Word will prevail.

2 Timothy 3:15-17: “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.  All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works.”

And the proceeding verses are actually written in the very context of warnings regarding how society will change, deception will abound (even more than it was abounding then), the wicked will get even worse, and Christianity will be greatly opposed- not just by society in general, but even more so by the watering down of true Christianity and confusion about true Christianity from within.  This will cause wickedness and error to be commonly labeled as Christian; and cause what is truly Christian to be labeled as misguided and even as evil.  Earlier in the same chapter (2 Timothy chapter 3), the following warning was given.  Consider especially here how it applies to the influence of feminism in our time.

2 Timothy 3:1-5: “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.  For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God; Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

Something related to Jezebels and feminist influence could be said in regards to each one of the sins and issues of bad character listed here.  I’ll consider five of them in detail.

Covetousness: Coveting attention through sensual and immodest dress.  Men also covet admiration by showing off the females in their homes (or letting them so show off ).  And many men covet the viewing of the flesh and sensuality displayed through such showing off.

Cleavage, yoga pants, tight pants, tight clothes, etc.  If you can see a woman’s curves, it’s immodest.

The original Jezebel, the complete opposite of shamefaced and modest, took great care to paint her face with make-up.  2 Kings 9:30: “And when Jehu was come to Jezreel, Jezebel heard of it; and she painted her face, and tired her head, and looked out at a window.”  Make-up gives the connotation (i.e. implied underlying message) of boldness, impudence, seduction, etc.  Jezebels often rely on make-up; and it would be hard to find a Jezebel who didn’t wear it.

Revelation 17:1-6 (note that costly array and jewelry are associated with the epitome of apostasy): “And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will shew unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.  So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns.  And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet color, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, Mystery, Babylon The Great, The Mother Of Harlots And Abominations Of The Earth.  And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration (he marveled at her; he did not regard her as good).”

Disobedient to parents: Now it often comes through the vilification of the concept of patriarchy.  Such vilification happens through labeling men who try to instill reasonable rules and order in their homes as harsh and unloving.  Men who do their duty and appropriately exercise their God-given strength in any form are labeled as harsh, unloving, unchristlike, and are lumped in the same category with men who are truly abusive (and there are men who use violence, lose their temper easily, and act vindictive when things don’t go their way- nothing said here is intended to validate such people and such behavior).  The fact though is that feminism and the war on patriarchy would (and often does by its very ideology) condemn Jesus Himself and truly godly men, advocating rebellion against God through rebellion against God-ordained authority which is applied properly.

Fierce: The Jezebel may claim she is just as strong and capable as a man is, she may act aggressively- and yet if she still doesn’t get her way, she may cry abuse and victimization when she is overpowered and subdued.  She may begin to attempt a forceful debate to show why she should get her way, yet she may throw a tantrum when logic has proved her to be in the wrong.  She wants control, yet she does not want an equal playing field and to be left to the quality of her own merits in determining whether she will get it.  She wants control in ways that God has forbid her from having.  Otherwise, she would not be a Jezebel.  Instead, she plays an intricate mind game to cast off male domination and to rule over men, while employing the powers of the male for her own ends.  She is dangerous- and if she had her way, like the Jezebel of the Bible sought to do, she would destroy every faithful preacher of God’s Word.

Despisers of those that are good: Many now rather openly despise women who actually submit to their husbands like the Bible commands and who dress as the Bible commands.  Many not only don’t heed the Bible’s instructions about these things, they also criticize and falsely accuse those who do (false accusers is another thing mentioned in the passage above; and false accusation typically accompanies despising those that are good).  Maybe a woman who does outwardly follow Biblical modesty, and obeys her father or her husband, has serious issues in other ways.  Often though, people are drawn to criticize someone because of what they are doing right while the accusations of doing wrong are mainly just ways of venting their animosity over what is right.  People who don’t dress right nor obey God-ordained authority often escape scrutiny over things that those who dress right and obey God-ordained authority would get criticized for.  Often though, it is the good that is despised and those who are truly blameless in the fear of God who get criticized for the good before God that they are doing (which is called evil by those who despise them- Isaiah 5:20-21).  And in addition to getting criticized for the good they are doing, they also get a lot of false accusations and unreasonable scrutiny piled on to that.

Lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God: Probably just about everything else mentioned can fall generally under this umbrella.  Yet consider how much of feminism and its influence is strongly correlated to this.  And not just on the women’s part either.  Men, and I especially mean professing Christian men who know very well what the Bible says about these things, they often don’t command those in their home to follow Biblical principles in many ways, they often let their wives (and/or children) run the show, and they often want their females to show off in immodest clothing and make-up because they have pleasure in such; and they have inordinate attachment to the pleasures related to their woman.  They want people to see how good she looks in a sensual way.  And they don’t want to risk their wife leaving them over the commanding of Biblical principles in their home consistently.  All this feminist, Jezebel influence could never have gained a foothold, like it has in the vast majority of churches, if this was not the case incredibly often.

Did you know that the Bible commands that women cover their heads as a testimony of their submission to male authority in their life as an extension of God’s own authority?  That is what we find in 1 Corinthians chapter 11:1-16.  And the Apostle Paul in speaking about this cites principles of creation as his basis for commanding this in Christian churches.  He does not cite culture.  He does not say that women should cover their heads because of the culture around them.  He was actually commanding, in the Corinthians’ case, that they do not follow the customs of, nor yield to the influence of the Pagan worship, happening in their city.  Read the chapter yourself and judge whether this is the truth or not.  In most cases though, those women who love the pleasure of showing off their full head of hair and/or are sensual in other ways, and their male authorities who want to show them off (or who at least don’t want to risk a fight with them), and even those who just love the pleasure of not standing out in most places due to the woman’s head being covered, these will be biased and look for an excuse for the woman not to cover her head before they even read the chapter (if they even read it at all).

But I sure don’t want to be found on Judgment Day loving anything more than God; and I sure don’t want to be discovered on Judgment Day to have persistently evaded the suffering for righteousness and truth’s sake which His Word has called me to.  You should not either- and it should be noted that these things are not necessarily easier for men to come into agreement with, and to comply with, than they are for women.  And having a right stance on these things in our culture is controversial and even possibly dangerous, especially to one’s reputation- and maybe even to one’s career.  And such dangers exist for men and women who have Biblical views and stand for the truth on such matters.

All ought to flee churches with women pastors and stop listening to women who presume to teach men or seek to exercise spiritual authority upon them in any way.  Consider also how wrong such false pastors and teachers could be in other areas when they are wrong in something so obvious.  And that logically applies also to those who sit under them too.  Take heed!

If you want to be saved from the corruption of this world and stand before God blameless when He rises up to judgment, shakes all things, brings His wrath, and you stand before Him in judgment (and all this will surely happen), then don’t overlook these things.  Be diligent rather that you be found of Him in peace, without spot, and blameless (like 2 Peter 3:14 warns).   Flee from every evil way of the devil, take refuge and maintain refuge in the Lord Jesus Christ, walk in the truth of His Word without compromise in the midst of this crooked and corrupt world, and so deliver your soul.

Men also covet admiration by showing off the females in their homes (or letting them so show off).
