Rosh Hashanah

Rosh Hashanah Proves Modern Judaism Can’t Put Two and Two Together

The Law of Moses provides clear instruction regarding when the New Year on the Hebrew calendar was appointed to begin.

Exodus 12:1-2: “And the Lord spoke unto Moses and Aaron in the land of Egypt saying, This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you.”

We can know for sure that this was referring to the month of Abib (also called Nisan) in the Spring due to the instruction which God gave concerning the Passover which was appointed to be kept very shortly afterwards in the same month.

The Jews now have separated their religious calendar from their civil calendar so that they actually celebrate their civil New Year on the first day of the seventh month of their religious calendar (the same day that the Feast of Trumpets was appointed to occur in the Law of Moses). Yet the Law of Moses never appointed nor allowed that the Jews have a civil calendar which is separate from their religious calendar. It rather clearly says in Exodus 12:2 that the month of Abib in the Spring, wherein Passover is celebrated, should be the head month which marks the beginning of the new year (the Hebrew word “Rosh” is even used to describe this month- the first of Abib is the true Rosh Hashanah).

The Jews eventually came to celebrate their New Year (Rosh Hashanah) in the Fall.  Modern Judaism is not reliable for anything as it even fails to get the Jewish New Year right.  The proper New Year is spelled out in the Law of Moses plainer that it is in math that 2 plus 2=4.

This is another evidence that the Jews overall have greatly strayed from their own Scriptures.  They even blatantly defy what God said in Exodus 12:2 concerning which month should be the head of the year (Rosh Hashanah) to them.  It is no wonder that they would generally go astray on an issue as plain as this when Jesus Himself told them that they reject Him because they do not heed their own Scriptures (as is seen in John 5:39-47).

Deuteronomy 4:2 says: “Ye shall not add unto the word which I command you, neither shall ye diminish ought (any) from it, that ye may keep the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you.”

Nobody is going to come to Jesus Christ and obtain life from Him who won’t even acknowledge that the month which God appointed to be the first month on the Hebrew calendar ought to indeed be the first month on the Hebrew calendar.

Many associate modern religious Jews with the righteous Jews of the Old Testament.  They discount that righteous Jews became followers of Jesus the promised Jewish Messiah after He appeared.  Like many professing Christians who deviate from the Bible and worship a man-made alteration of Jesus Christ, modern religious Jews also worship a distorted image of the God of Israel. Both groups practically worship a golden calf which is called “The Lord” yet which is not really the true God.  Even before the first coming of Christ there were many wicked Jews who honored the God of Israel with their lips yet were alienated from Him at heart through regard for wicked works (which include not heeding His simple directions- consider how Adam and Eve transgressed in the garden).
