TITLE:
Wise as a Serpent, Gentle as a Dove; Surviving as a Sheep in the Midst of Wolves.
Tagline:
“From a sheeple to a sheep. The road from the false, tolerant love of the world to the tough, true love of God”
by
James Joseph Miller, Jr
As I begin, I first want to give all the glory to Jesus, my Lord & Saviour. Please note I use “CAPS” to emphasise words or thoughts, not for yelling.
“Before”
- $4,000 in cocaine up my nose
- 800 alcoholic drinks
- Hundreds of pain pills
- Pharmakeia (SSRI’s-prozac, lithium, risperidone, abilify, etc)
- $12,000 in house and automobile payments
- Tens of thousands spent on eating in restaurants/bars, going on vacations, gambling, “loving” my friends, etc
Above is an example of a typical month in my life as a heathen (before I truly decided to repent; turn to Christ in godly sorrow confessing & forsaking all my sins). I was making tens of thousands per month as a “self-made” businessman and spending thousands more above that. $110,000 in credit card bills, a $575,000 mortgage, a Kubota backhoe loader, 6 automobiles including a slant-nose Hummer H-1, a custom motorcycle, a jet ski, etc, etc all resided in my driveway. I was living the “American Dream”!
After many years of working hard to build my telecom business, I was on “cruise control” as the money poured in. I schmoozed the “world” and thought I had it made. This was until my godless living started to catch up with me. I was a friend of the world and they “loved” me! I was a drunkard, druggie, whore-monger, gambler, enabler, covetous, lover of mammon (money), an idolator (sports and otherwise), despiser of authority, liar and practiced every other sin one can imagine, I “mastered” them! I will not get into the grave details as that is not the purpose of this book but I wanted to paint a picture of my life “before” to give you hope as you continue to read about the miraculous Grace of God.
My goal in writing this book, and believe me it was the furthest thing from my mind but a dear brother encouraged me to write it, is to open the eyes of “professing Christians” who truly believe they are going to walk through the front door of Heaven because they “believe in Jesus”. I am going to biblically prove, without a shadow of doubt, that “believe” is not what “99%+” of the professing Christians are doing today. I am praying for the lost to truly find Jesus and hope this book is an eye opener to not only the deceived, but the seeking also. (I’d say “faithful disciple of Jesus” in contrast to the deceived)
After almost 2 decades of being an “adult”, my life continued to spiral downward and I was about as deep as one could get into sin. Staying awake for 4-5 days at a time on a cocaine, alcohol and pill binges were the rule, not the exception anymore. You see, the devil knows exactly how to push one’s buttons as long as you just let him in (compromise), even just a bit. The casual “one or two” drinks at the bar turns into a 30 drink a day habit years later. The 1st line of cocaine that was all you “needed” for the weekend quickly turns into a 100 line a weekend habit and then hundreds of lines on a 4 or 5 day binge. At the height of my sinfulness, I had bouts of drug-induced paranoid schizophrenia and would not remember what I did for days at a time. It truly was “hell on earth”!
I was supposed to sell a telecom company I built from 2000-2004 and would have made millions. The deal fell through in mid-2004 due to a business associate owing the government and private companies millions of dollars. This hit me hard as I was close to this man and thought he was on the up and up. Turns out just another sinner whom could not be trusted. My income at this time went from over $60,000 per month to about $12,000. Sounds like a fantastic monthly “income” still but remember, I had $14,000+ in fixed monthly bills. This really threw me into over a year and a half binge that would have rivaled most rock stars. I stopped paying most of my bills and the repo company took all but one car and the cocaine and alcohol abuse was through the roof. I was at the point where I was giving jewelry I owned to the drug dealers for payment as my habits were costing me upwards of $10,000 per month at this point! I was never preached to or truly loved (rebuked) by any Christian, ever! The bible says in Leviticus 19:17”Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise rebuke thy neighbour, and not suffer sin upon him.” I met countless thousands in my lifetime in business, traveling the world, etc and not once did I have Christ preached to me! Not ONCE was I truly LOVED!
“During”
In January 2006 I owed a man who cleaned my home some money. I never spoke with this man but small talk (hello, how are you, etc); in passing as I hired him to clean my office and home. He came to my home one morning to clean and I owed him some money. I did not have cash on me and I had given my checkbook to my accountant so I would not write checks too frequently. I knew I was in great trouble. I told him to meet me at the restaurant down the street about 30 minutes after he and his crew were to be done and we would go together to get his check. This was one of the very rare days I was actually sober. I would take usually a day “off” each week as I was at the point of collapse most days.
He agreed and met me not long after. I got in his car and out of nowhere I started to cry out to the LORD! I was weeping like a child saying I have had enough of the wicked life I was living, how I did not have true friends and was getting used for my money, etc. Surely I had an hundred “friends”, but none of them were real. Only a true, obedient Christian can truly be a faithful friend. (Might want to qualify or modify the proceeding statement somehow) We proceeded to my accountant’s office about 15 min down the road, got the check and then went back to my home. For the next few hours I confessed all my sins and then fell asleep. Bottom line, I got miraculously born-again on January 16th, 2006!
I woke up the next morning after a deep sleep I did not have in years to about 22, 8 & ½ x 11 pieces of printer paper saying “Jesus loves me” & “I have a true friend in Jesus”, etc. I had mixed emotions as I read these. I thought on one hand “I have a Jesus freak on my hands here” and on the other, I felt a huge weight lifted off me. One of the letters said to call the cleaner so I did just that. Come to find out, he told me he was a “pastor” and I agreed to have him over as he suggested with his “friend” who was a woman. They brought me a meal and also the movie “The Passion”. They left some hours later and I agreed to meet them at their home about 30 minutes away a day that week and to visit their “church”. I ended up doing that and after a while, I ended up moving in with him to get away from the area I was living in for a fresh start.
The reason I named this section “during” is that this was, looking back, one of the most bittersweet moments of my life. On the one hand, I was saved and abiding in Jesus, on the other, well, let me explain as this is where most of you are, deceived, “believing” you will waltz into Heaven in your current state of “believing”.
They were tongue twisting “Pentecostals” (aka Charismatics) but I did not know the better. I stayed there for months but never heard them preach repentance from sin, holy living, etc. They also NEVER shared their faith on the street, in public, etc. It was the typical “Main St Church” experience “99%+” of you are are living today. Go to a building called a “church”, do some “church” things like attend the Wednesday night prayer meeting, etc but never did they go OUT and preach. I witnessed much wickedness that I won’t get into at this time but everything from lying to the grave appearance of evil was at hand. It did not take long in this environment to fall away from the faith.
While still at this “pastors” home, I ended up meeting an old friend at a restaurant/bar down the road who reached out to me. It was a childhood friend I had not seen in many, many years. I thought I had it all together. I would be able to go and sit at the bar and have “one or two drinks”. Well, letting in that little bit of leaven took me to about 20 alcoholic drinks that night and the devil was let back in. It was not long that I was into drinking a few times per week again; and that went on for 6 full years (2012). During that time I truly believed I was still saved and going to heaven. I was always told that I was “getting better”, I was not the man I used to be; they said I was “progressing towards perfection” (the wicked lie of progressive sanctification where they preach that one can be in willful sin and still make it to heaven). You can’t be a “drunk Christian”, you can’t be a “homosexual Christian”, you can’t be a “fornicating Christian”, etc. All those sins, and many more, lead to eternal hellfire.
A few other examples of lies spoken are “no one stops sinning completely and we won’t be perfect until we get to heaven”. They said “Hey Jimmy, you don’t do drugs anymore, you don’t drink 6 days per week anymore, you will get there, let Jesus do a work in you”. I was smoking cigarettes, but according to them, that was not sinful either. All wicked lies were told to me out of “love” as I was perishing to hellfire. Reader, this is not love, it’s HATE! Again I reference Leviticus 19:17 (it’s hate to not rebuke your neighbour out of sin)!
I finally decided to quit all the substances, completely, and get right with Jesus in late 2012! This included giving up the 54 milligrams of Dilaudid I was taking for pain, one of the most powerful opiates on the earth; and that dose would knock out most. I functioned on it as I was so used to drugs all my life. Would you believe I was actually prescribed them for “mental illness” and my “pastor friend” was encouraging me to keep using them as he said I showed “great improvement”. Yup, after 10 surgeries for my ankle between 2010-2012, the pain Dr I had here in FL was tapering me down off the Dilaudid and I was becoming miserable from the lowered dose. I ended up searching for and finding a medical Dr in TN that actually prescribed pain meds to “treat mental illness”. I was also on a plethora of “mental illness” medication off and on from 1993 – 2012.
On December 17th, 2012, I went into the hospital for 3 days to be monitored as I was stopping cold turkey. I got out and returned home knowing it was going to be the biggest battle of my life. For the very 1st time in my adult life, I was going to be completely free of all foreign substances. Without getting into great detail, the next 5 months I was almost unable to move. One day in May 2013, I cried out to the Lord in many tears after being faithful as promised from December 17th the year prior and said “Lord, I pray you either take me home from this pain or deliver me from it”. Miraculously, the next day I awoke and these horrible pains of withdrawal were all but gone. Praise HIM!
Around this same time, I FINALLY confronted my “pastor friend”, which I should have done 6 years prior, and called him to repentance. To no avail but at least I spelled out his sins to him and truly loved him as Jesus commands. I did ask him why he did not truly love me and call me out of my sins, his response? “I did not want to lose you as a friend and push you away”. How worldly and damning! I do still pray he repents lest he will burn forever in the Lake of Fire.
“After”
Once I gave my all to Christ; crucified all my wants, dreams, etc and finally came back to the Lord Jesus and my eyes were opened, the Bible truths started to come to pass in my life. This is how one knows they are truly walking with Jesus. I stopped caring about people’s feelings in an ungodly, worldly way as to please them and not God. I now care for their eternal souls as Jesus commands. What the bible says about believers like; they will be “hated by all”, and “the world will hate you” and “enemies will be in your own household” swiftly came true in my life. This is why I wrote this book, to prayerfully help open the eyes and ears of the deceived “Jesus loves you just the way you are’, ‘Christian”. You must understand Jesus commands you to “keep His commandments” and “walk as He walked”:
1Jn 2:3-6 “And hereby we do know that WE KNOW HIM, IF WE KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS. 4 He that saith, I know him, and KEEPETH NOT HIS COMMANDMENTS IS A LIAR, AND THE TRUTH IS NOT IN HIM. 5 But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: HEREBY KNOW WE ARE IN HIM. 6 He that saith he abideth in him ought HIMSELF ALSO SO TO WALK, even as HE (JESUS) walked.
I started a ministry in 2012, Global Mission for Children, that supports indigenous missionaries in Africa & Asia and oversee it on a daily, volunteer basis today. It’s the joy of my life to serve Him from the moment I awake until I sleep. 2012 was surely a year I will never forget. I pray after you read this book that this might be your “2012” moment when you realize that “believing” is not just with your lips, but also with all your heart, soul, mind & strength. If you are not abiding in Christ biblically, I truly hope I don’t become your enemy by unashamedly telling you the truth; but if I do, all the glory goes to Jesus. I choose to love as Jesus loves no matter what the cost.
Galatians 4:16 “Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?”
The following chapters are what I learned AFTER I truly repented and the Holy Spirit guided me in the truth, not a watered down “gospel” that most all are “preaching” today. I pray you biblically repent too if need be. It’s an eternal decision.
CHAPTER 1 “The Church”
I have made a video series exposing the modern church which I called “Exposing the Emergent ‘Main St’ Church”. It can be accessed by visiting emergent.globalmissionforchildren.org. Another name is the “Seeker Sensitive Church”. Other titles associated with Emergent include: post-evangelical, post-conservative, post-fundamentalists, post-foundationalists, post-propositionalist, younger evangelicals and so on. These den of devils encompass teachings like Word of Faith, Prosperity, “Healings & Wonders”, False Tongues, New Apostolic Reformation, etc. Second Peter Chapter 2 clearly explains the state of the “church” today, I suggest you read it, then come back here. Peter talks about false prophets and false teachers AMONG the church members that will arise and bring in damnable heresies; and MANY shall follow these wolves. We can clearly see that this has come to pass in such a great way. “99%+” behind the pulpits today are accursed Galatians 1:8-9 hereticks that are not speaking the truth.
Paul states very clearly below that these wolves will be “among you”:
Acts 20:29-32 “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also OF YOUR OWN SELVES (SPEAKING TO THE CHURCH) shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to DRAW AWAY DISCIPLES after them. 31 Therefore WATCH, and REMEMBER, that by the space of THREE YEARS I CEASED NOT TO WARN every one NIGHT AND DAY WITH TEARS. 32 And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which ARE SANCTIFIED.”
I have been to literally dozens of these “churches” and they are all alike. They tickle the ears of sinners never calling people to true repentance in godly sorrow as 2nd Corinthians 7:10-11 spells out:
“10 For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”
From the Contemporary “Christian” Music (CCM) to the cafe’s, these den’s of devils are judgment on a wicked generation, not a blessing. My heart truly weeps for these souls as they are heading straight to hellfire. I was in these false churches for 6 years and I used to love them while I was a wicked “saved sinner” thinking I was heading directly to Heaven. How wrong was I! The bible says Jesus is only your friend IF you obey Him:
John 15:14 “Ye are my friends, IF YE DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU.”
He only authors the salvation of those who “obey Him”:
Heb 5:9 “And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation UNTO ALL THEM THAT OBEY HIM.”
Those who commit sin are of the devil:
1st John 3:8 HE THAT COMMITTETH SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”
How was I so blind? How did I miss all these clear truths in the Bible? Simple, I was a sinner and wanted to have the world AND Jesus at the same time like most all who profess Christ do. Problem is, you can’t have both like so many of you think. The “lukewarm” get spewed out of His mouth.
Revelation 3:15-16 “I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth.”
A friend of the world is an enemy of God:
James 4:4 “Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the FRIENDSHIP OF THE WORLD IS ENMITY WITH GOD? whosoever therefore will be A FRIEND OF THE WORLD IS THE ENEMY OF GOD .”
Verse after verse after verse literally popped off the page after I actually LOOKED for the truth and did not trust a false teacher to “preach” a few sweet-sounding verses to me once a week with the credit card kiosk at the back of the church waiting for $$$. The Holy Spirit opened up my understanding but only AFTER I truly committed to Christ and His government (moral laws). I was shown that the Grace of God teaches we are to live holy in this present world. The false “church” teaches that Jesus is your holiness no matter how you live here on earth. Rubbish!
Titus 2:11-12 “For the GRACE OF GOD that bringeth salvation hath APPEARED TO ALL MEN,
12 Teaching us that, DENYING UNGODLINESS and WORLDLY LUSTS (SIN), we should live SOBERLY, RIGHTEOUSLY, and GODLY, IN THIS PRESENT WORLD“
Have you paid attention to the verses I posted in the last few pages? The reason why people want these false, ear ticklin’ “pastors” is they don’t want to truly repent as Jesus commands. If they came to the light, their evil deeds would be exposed and could not be continued. Let’s end this chapter with verses that are usually NEVER read in the false “church” today. You surely recognize the verse “John 3:16” and ver 17 too; well sadly, these wolves in most all of the pulpits will not go down to verse 21 of John 3, never mind verse 36! We are to preach the WHOLE COUNSEL of God, not cherry pick verses here and there that keep people in bondage as they spew ½ truths giving you only part of the bible.
John 3:18-21 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not IS CONDEMNED ALREADY, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. 19 And this is the condemnation, that light (JESUS) is come into the world, and men loved darkness(SIN) rather than light(JESUS), because their deeds were evil (THEY SINNED). 21 For every one that doeth evil (SINS) hateth (JESUS) the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved (THEY LOVE THEIR SIN MORE THAN JESUS). 21 But he that DOETH TRUTH (DOES NOT SIN) cometh to the light (COMES TO JESUS), that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.”
God hates the sin:
Romans 1:18 “For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all (SIN) ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness”
And the sinner:
John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not (MEANING DOES NOT OBEY) the Son shall not see life; but the WRATH (ANGER/CONDEMNATION) of God abideth on him.”
Now, before you try to discount the truth I posted above, please understand that the entire Old testament points to Jesus. We see in the Old Testament that to atone for sins, there had to be an “offering”. When Jesus came and died and rose again, HE became the Sin Offering we need to cleanse us from our sins (past sins ONLY, NEVER sins present or future).
Hebrews 10:14 “For by one offering he (JESUS) hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
2nd Peter 1:9 “But he that LACKETH these things is BLIND, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was PURGED FROM HIS OLD SINS.”
Romans 3:25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his(JESUS’) blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of SINS THAT ARE PAST, through the forbearance of God”
So, it’s true that His love is AVAILABLE to everyone, even the most wretched sinner; it’s false to say that He loves the sinner “just the way they are in their sin”….. Listen closely to whom Jesus loves, He states:
John 14:21 “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I(JESUS) will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”
You must keep the commandments of God for Him to love you as His child.
Jesus reiterates this stating whom the Father loves:
John 14:23-24 “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words:and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. 24 He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father’s which sent me.”
Bottom line, if you love Jesus, you will “keep His commandments”.
Proverbs 7:2 “KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, AND LIVE; and my law as the apple of thine eye.”
John 14:15 “IF ye love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.”
John 15:10 “IF YE KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”
We will conclude this chapter with exposing the sin of denominations. I want to clarify that not every single person sitting in a denominational church is lost, just the vast majority. I use “99%+” for this example as I do elsewhere when talking about the “Main St. Church”. For most denominations like the Catholics (who worship Mary, the Pope, etc), Seventh Day Adventists (totally deny a literal, eternal hell / annihilationism and wrongly keep the Saturday “Sabbath”, etc), United Methodists (affirm the “LGBTQ” abomination”), Calvinists (in gross error in wrongly dividing and abusing truths like “election”, “predestination” & “chosen” to name a few and don’t believe man has free will) etc, one can’t be practicing in these cults and be saved as they disobey scripture (Jesus).
There are instances where one may truly come to Christ and will soon leave a denomination as their eyes are opened to the Truth by the Holy Spirit. Please note, most all “non-denominational” churches have become denominations in their theology and are false too. Many of these deceivers fall into “Marcionism” whose accursed beliefs are pacificism, no oath taking at all and no remarriage after BIBLICAL divorce, to name a few. They believe Jesus came back to correct Moses! Moses’ words ARE Jesus’ words, how foolish to think differently. Another doctrine of demons. A highly recommended book that covers this and many other deceptions in detail can be found at didjesuscorrectmoses.globalmissionforchildren.org.
Today, there are more than 600 different denominational churches with thousands of sub-denominations, each teaching different man-made doctrines, each with different forms of worship, each with different human devised plans of salvation, and each wearing different religious names. There is no scriptural justification for this confusion, “For God is not the author of confusion” (1 Corinthians 14:33). What do you think the Lord thinks about all of this? Such cannot be pleasing to the Lord.
The word “denomination” comes from the same root word as denominator in fractions, which means to divide. Religious division is sinful- meaning proclaiming Jesus while wresting truths with man-made doctrine is not obeying God; and thus is sinful. As we will talk about in future chapters, it’s actually commanded to divide from such hereticks. God did not give man the liberty to choose his own kind of “Christianity” based upon his own upbringing or religious taste or any other preference. God’s word says, “Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment” (1 Corinthians 1:10). This is not happening in denominationalism. Denominations are of human origin and have no scriptural authority to exist. Every denomination is in conflict with the one church which Jesus built. The Bible condemns denominations, period. Thousands of denominations have their own rules and this is clearly sin according to God.
Ephesians 4:4-6 “There is ONE BODY, and ONE SPIRIT, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; 5 ONE LORD, ONE FAITH, ONE BAPTISM, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.”
1 Corinthians 12:20 “But now are they MANY MEMBERS, yet but ONE BODY.”
1 Corinthians 12:25 “That THERE SHOULD BE NO SCHISM IN THE BODY; but that the members should have the same care one for another”
We must listen to what Jesus says, always. We can’t pick and choose which truths we want to believe and others we don’t. Jesus clearly states in Matthew 16:18b “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.” The word “church” is singular meaning ONE and the word “My” is possessive meaning it belongs to the Lord. The Lord only built His ONE church. Jesus never, EVER promised to build even one denomination. The church of Christ, which Christ built on the “Rock”, Himself, began nearly 2000 years ago.
There were no denominations in the 1st century and for 100’s of years thereafter. The Lord did not establish any of the denominations, man did. Most all denominations have had their beginnings during the past 500 years or so. The Lord never built any of the more than 600+ different denominations so man could have a choice of which church he wants to join. All of this is man’s doing. Now, there are literally 100’s of differing denominations with thousands of sects, each with its own name, its own peculiar man-made doctrine and practice which contradicts the Holy Bible. How can any of these differing doctrines be true? They can’t. Anything that contradicts or is different from the Bible is false doctrine, which is designed by Satan to cause people to be eternally lost. Their divisive human creeds that govern them come from the corrupt minds of men and not from God. Their man-made rule books hold their group together as a denomination. Baptist Churches preach the Baptist Manual, Catholic Churches preach the “Catechism of the Catholic Church”, Methodist Churches preach the Methodist Discipline, etc. The main reason for the religious division of denominationalism is man will not accept God’s word as final authority. They all add and/or take away from the 66 books of the inspired Word of God and will pay with their souls.
Revelation 22:18-19 “For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall ADD unto these things, God shall add unto him the PLAGUES that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall TAKE AWAY HIS PART OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, AND OUT OF THE HOLY CITY, and from the things which are written in this book.”
Now that I have pointed out the lies of the “Main St Church”, we will move on to other areas where we must respond to the Gospel correctly, lest we perish.
CHAPTER 2 “Yoking With Family & Friends”
After I came back to Christ in 2012 and started to prove my repentance by my works (conduct & actions- Matthew 3:8 & Acts 26:20), I started to see many specific truths in the bible come alive in my life. If you are not experiencing these also, you are in great danger of eternal punishment. We know that “friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God” (James 4:4) as stated above. So, when you become a friend of Jesus (John 15:14), the world hates you. There are no exceptions and this is where so many fail as they can’t bear to truly be separate from friends, family, etc as the Bible clearly states will happen when one becomes a true disciple of Christ. Let’s look at 2 sets of verses speaking of what happens to IMMEDIATE families:
Luke 12:51-53 “Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather DIVISION: 52 For from henceforth there shall be FIVE IN ONE HOUSE DIVIDED, three against two, and two against three. 53 THE FATHER SHALL BE DIVIDED AGAINST THE SON, and the son against the father; THE MOTHER AGAINST THE DAUGHTER, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.”
Matthew 10:34-36″ Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword. 35 FOR I HAVE COME TO SET A MAN AT VARIANCE AGAINST HIS FATHER, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law. 36 And a man’s foes(ENEMIES) shall be they OF HIS OWN HOUSEHOLD.”
The Bible says you must “count the cost” to become His disciple and pick up your cross DAILY. Jesus finished HIS work on The Cross; now you have to pick up yours. Most have not.
Luke 14:26-28 “If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?”
Luke 9:23-25 “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, LET HIM DENY HIMSELF and TAKE UP HIS CROSS DAILY, and FOLLOW ME. 24 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it. 25 For what is a man advantaged, if he gain the whole world, and lose himself, or be cast away?”
One of the biggest strongholds I have seen is when the false Christian thinks they can live like the world and get along with everyone, including their unsaved family when the Bible states exactly the opposite. When one truly comes to Christ, they must admit that their entire (Catholic, Presbyterian, Seventh Day Adventist, Mormon, JW, Calvinist, Orthodox, Methodist, Baptist, etc) family has and is going to hell-fire lest they repent from these false religious cults. God is no respecter of persons and His children must not be either. God could not be more clear that His children are NOT to yoke with religious hereticks and of course, all non believers in their sins and false religious doctrines. We are to witness/preach (love) them as He commands by calling them out of sin into His marvelous Light. They will hate us for that.
2nd Corinthians 6:14-15 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers(THIS INCLUDES FALSE CHRISTIANS): for what fellowship hath righteousness(SAINTS) with unrighteousness(SINNERS)? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?”
Psalm 26:9-10 “Gather not my soul with SINNERS, nor my life with bloody men: 10 In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes.”
The Spirit of God that resides in true believers absolutely can’t tolerate darkness and vice versa. IF you are truly living for and abiding in Christ, the world will hate you. The people who will despise you the most are the professing Christians. Why? Because they believe they are eternally saved IN their sin and want the world and Jesus. This simply cannot be.
1st John 5:18-19 “We know that WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD SINNETH NOT; but he that is begotten of God KEEPETH HIMSELF, and that wicked one toucheth him not. 19 And we know that we are of God, and THE WHOLE WORLD LIETH IN WICKEDNESS.”
John 15:19 “If ye were of the world, THE WORLD would LOVE HIS OWN: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore THE WORLD HATETH YOU.”
So many people hate their families as they yoke with them and never call them to repentance. Meaning they “love” their families in a worldly, tolerant, godless way based on feelings and not on God’s command. His love is true 1st John 4:8 “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for GOD IS LOVE.” The world’s love is false and if you are not dwelling in Him obeying His moral law, you have not true love 1st John 4:16 “And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. GOD IS LOVE; and HE THAT DWELLETH IN LOVE dwelleth in God, and God in him.” One hates their “brother” by not warning them of eternal hellfire. 1 John 4:20 “If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?”
A true Christian loves his “brother” and keeps His commandments 1st John 5:3 “For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.” Do you truly love God by calling people to repentance or do you have a false, worldly love that pats them on the back in their sin as they are heading to judgment? Mark 12:30-31 “And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind, and with all thy strength: this is the first commandment. 31 And the second is like, namely this, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. There is none other commandment greater than these.
The also hate their very own children by sparing the rod (Proverbs 13:24); and also in sending them to demonic schools (public & private). A Mother and Father are to teach (train up – Proverbs 22:6) their child themselves, not have a wicked “teacher” train them that indoctrinates them with humanism, LGBT “tolerance”, etc 7 hours a day, 5 days per week. That is downright godless!
I will conclude by saying that although the bible says a man is worse than an infidel if he doesn’t provide for his own (1st Timothy 5:8), it also clearly says even sinners take care of their own. Let’s examine these commands:
1st Timothy 5:8 “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”
Luke 6:33-34 “And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same. 34 And if ye lend to them of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.”
We can clearly see we must do BOTH. Take care of “our own” AND take care of others. You must have “pure and undefiled religion”.
James 1:27 “Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.”
This chapter has revealed some harsh, loving truths that clearly spell out how you will be hated and divided, even from your own family when you are truly a Christian. Now, have you counted the cost? Are you truly a disciple? Have you really gave you ALL to Jesus or are you sitting on the fence which the devil owns? The Bible clearly commands you not to yoke with anyone that is not a Christian (especially those who profess to be one but are in sin and/or believe false doctrine). Yoke means “hang out”, condone in their sin, have spiritual fellowship with them, etc. I pray you heed this call.
2nd Corinthians 6:14-18 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and BE YE SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
Don’t strengthen the hand of the wicked lest you be an abomination like them.
Proverbs 11:21 “Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but the seed of the righteous shall be delivered.”
Proverbs 17:15 “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.”
CHAPTER 3 – Yoking with God’s Enemies
I discussed the sin of yoking with unsaved family and “friends” in the last chapter. This chapter will address the sin of yoking with another group of God’s enemies, the professing Christian. I also discussed the sinful denomination deception which is rampant in “Christendom”. I hear all the time from professing Christians that we must stand together in “unity” with others that preach the gospel. The problem is, this group of people completely overlook (excuse) the blatant sins of their fellow “labourer” which is pure hate.
For example, I was briefly part of the “Street Preacher” community and came to find out just how hypocritical they truly are. Now let me say, I am not saying that ALL the preachers on the street are hellbound heathen, just most of them. Similar to the “99%+” of false “churches” on the street corners of this fallen world. Why? Let’s dig in. I do praise God for the few out there that are truly preaching to build local fellowships as the Apostles did.
These “godly preachers”, so they think, are some of the most hypocritical, cowardly and godless out there. You will truly have accursed calvinists preaching with antinomians preaching with armenians preaching with baptists, etc. It’s absolutely mind boggling! They yoke with and condone each other “for the sake of preaching the gospel”. This is lunacy so says GOD! They also have many antichrist railers who make the Westboro Baptists look like introverted choir singers. As I saw them go deeper and deeper into sin and hypocrisy, I separated from and publicly rebuked them as commanded in December 2016. No matter how many friendships one may have or how much it may “hurt”, these separations are commanded, make no mistake about it. Your very soul is on the line.
Another abominable practice in Christendom are many “Christian Conferences”! You may or may not believe this but these professing “Christians” have conferences where they get together, many paying hundreds of dollars to travel to them and they have speakers, etc. The problem is you will have people in there from different denominations. We have already discussed how abominable denominations are to God. What is even more godless is you will have calvinists sitting right beside and fellowshiping with antinomians next to armenians. A recent conference which had dozens of attendees featured a speaker with a YouTube channel of 60+ videos refuting calvinism, yet, his fellow co-speakers were 5 point calvinists! (need the exclamation here!) Talk about strengthening the hand of the wicked. The hottest places in hell are reserved for these double-minnded, eucumenical devils! They hate their neighbour and God as they slop around in the mire. I can’t imagine how much blood is on their hands.
Here is an actual statement from an antichrist ecumenical street “preacher” that has been on the streets for decades. He actually thinks that all one needs to agree on are the “primary fundamentals” as spelled out by the eucumenical “National Evangelical Association’”. Imagine the Apostles saying “hey, as long as we agree on 60% of the doctrine of God, we are all good”! Blasphemy! It truly is like the Twilight Zone in Christodom today.
“I read, in this thread, where some non Calvinists are calling for not preaching with Calvinists. That should be seen as a Rom 14 matter of conscience. It should also be a matter of learning the difference twixt the primary, essential, fundamentals of the Christian faith, which Calvinists believe, and the non essential, secondary doctrines within Christianity. For example, one’s views on foreknowledge or predestination have never historically been held to be essential for salvation. The claim of heresy usually is reserved to the primary, fundamental and essential core doctrines within Christianity. The Roman Catholic Church, for one, has used the heresy claim for secondary and non salvific doctrines within Christianity. John Calvin also used the heresy claim for non salvific doctrines. etc.
Here are the core, primary fundamentals of Christianity. You can find this statement of faith on the National Evangelical Association’s web site. Please note how short that it is.
Statement of Faith
We believe the Bible to be the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God.
We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
We believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, and in His personal return in power and glory.
We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful people, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential.
We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life.
We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.
We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ.”
This is godless lunacy! We must be in total agreement on ALL DOCTRINE with those we yoke with, period. One is not a brother or sister if they do not agree with ALL of the bible. Hey, wicked Catholics believe in the above “fundamentals” yet that does not make those idolaters who bring a false gospel Christian. Nutty! What does the Bible say about these people who bring not the true gospel of Christ Jesus?
Galatians 1:8-9 “But though we, or an angel from heaven, PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be ACCURSED. 9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man PREACH ANY OTHER GOSPEL unto you than that ye have received, let him be ACCURSED.”
We have a multi-part study rebuking the demonic cult of calvinism/reformed theology at calvinism.eternalevangelism.com.
This godless “preaching” is NOT a “doubtful disputation“, it’s accursed. It takes discernment to make the distinction between truth and deceit whether out on the street, in a church, on social media and everywhere else for that matter. Further, many of these hereticks preach with filthy, crude and hateful speech.
You must have: Titus 2:8 “Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrarypart may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.”
One may walk holy, live holy and preach holiness (the true doctrine of Christ) but will miss heaven because they were too cowardly and had a respecter of persons by not loving those whom they were closest with. These people mentioned above (Calvinists, Baptists, Catholics, railers, etc) are unbelieving hereticks that bring a false doctrine to subvert the listener to destruction!
Corinthians 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?”
2 Corinthians 6:17-18 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and (THEN) I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
A Christian who is preaching/witnessing to the lost (he that is of the contrary part) must use wholesome words as Lord Jesus commands and the doctrines of the Gospel be expressed, as near as can be, in the words which the Holy Spirit teaches, and not in the enticing words of man’s own wisdom. Such speech or language should be chosen that is acceptable, easy and right to the point which conveys just ideas of things which being agreeable to the Scriptures of truth. Giving sinners a reason to condemn you by not using sound speech is SIN. Absolutely no corrupt communication nor rotten speech should proceed out of your mouth; nothing but what is edifying, graceful and pure. There is to be no foolish talking and jesting or filthiness coming out of a Christians mouth which are not convenient and are rightly condemned.
3 John 11:1 “Beloved, follow(IMITATE) not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.”
The other great sin is yoking with someone that yokes with one of these hereticks. I can’t tell you how many times I hear heretical statements like:
“I don’t subscribe to the theory that those who preach with me must never preach with those I don’t preach with” or “I may not agree with of all their doctrine but will still preach with them for a common cause” or “they don’t preach calvinism, or OSAS, or _______ (fill in the false doctrine/denomination) on the street so I still preach with them”.
“Liberty” is a word these hereticks like to use to excuse their sin and unrighteous yoking.
Using Romans 14 incorrectly in the name of “liberty” can lead to many accepting a sinful doctrine through the deceit of many who allude to this passage. The compromise and perversion of Scripture has led many down the wide path of destruction where they start adopting every sinful matter into the text. If you question this pack of street wolves, they will gang up on you and call you “the weaker brother” It would be comical if it weren’t so serious. They don’t take biblical reproval and are the ones who are unfaithful to Christ, cowardly, hypocritical and weak! Remove yourselves far from these devils and also from those who yoke with them.
2 Co 7:1-2 “Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God. Receive us; we have wronged no man, we have corrupted no man, we have defrauded no man.”
Matters of indifference, doctrine and sin can be thrown into the mix and we get a cesspool of abominable practices. The bible rebukes these hereticks.
Romans 14:5-6 “One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks.”
This is fatal exegesis to accept sinful doctrines and practices and do it all in the “name of God”. The like minded “preaching” group will decide what can and cannot be put on their formulated list of “authorized” liberties when it comes to fellowshipping “sins.” This is no different to the man-made creeds of the thousands of denominations we talk about in chapter 1. Try to penetrate their group and you are mocked, called “rookie”, “weaker brother” or told to stay out of their way if you are not “doing it like them”. They are the least likely to be reproved because of this mob mentality. It’s a demonic spirit and repentance is rare. I do believe however ALL things are possible with God. Surely most are reprobate and will never come to Christ.
Another word they use to excuse their sin(s) is “conscience”. The question must be asked, can a disciple of Christ follow his own conscience being fully assured in his own mind concerning sinful doctrines and its practices?
This answer is NO, otherwise, truth would be subjective from one person to the next. Shameful!
Unfortunately, the traditions of man and “mentors” arbitrate what they deem to be right and wrong according to their own seared consciences. A LITTLE LEAVEN LEAVENETH THE WHOLE LUMP!
1 Corinthians 5:6-7 “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:”
Proverbs 14:34 “Righteousness exalteth a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.”
The modern church “Main St” system and idolatrous, disrespectful, revilers have accepted what is shameful and blatantly attempts to justify their actions in their “liberty” and “love” for their neighbors. This is false love of the world which I used to have. There they use the “weak in faith” diversion trying to disregard and discount the godly who are rebuking them.
Romans 14:1 “Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations. 2 For one believeth that he may eat all things: another, who is weak, eateth herbs. 3 Let not him that eateth despise him that eateth not; and let not him which eateth not judge him that eateth: for God hath received him.”
These verses are used as an excuse to receive sin into the fellowship/preaching circle when God does not receive them into His. The blind indoctrinated pew warmers and/or “street preachers” tell us that we are not to “dispute,” or “judge” because they are disputable matters. Rubbish!
The error is that they are NOT authorized disputable matters attested in Scripture because disputable matters are not in the realm of the sin of breaking God’s laws.
The context of “Romans 14” are on matters that are neither required, nor prohibited (wrong or sinful). In verses 14, 16 and 20, they are matters that are deemed by Paul as “good,” “pure,” or “clean” in receiving one another in our fellowship based on Scripturally authorized liberties, NOT on sinful matters and behaviors that imitate evil which these “holy walkers” who are really sinners try to justify. To shift from one category to another and call it a “liberty” is grave, damnable error.
So many also fail in that they “preach” in a way that the world either looks at as “entertainment” or it provokes anger, unrighteously! They are not reconciling people to God, they are a reproach to Christ in all they do. Their works are as “filthy rags” as they preach not the gospel and truly hate their “brother”.
1 Thessalonians 5:22 “ABSTAIN from ALL appearance of evil.”
Romans 13:12 “The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.”
The problem is that the religious indoctrinated ignore the totality of Scripture and use their twisted doctrines as a base to justify this horrid “preaching” around verses, particularly Romans chapter 14. They seek to distort the Scriptures and teach something vastly different from the intended contextual meaning.
Those who twist Scripture will twist any verses, or the entire Bible, but they will often choose obscure problematic and/or ambiguous texts to satisfy their false narrative. The appeal of Scripture twisters tickles ears in their particular circle providing a pretext for self-indulgence and sin for their fellow followers, as well as themselves. No one takes reproval to their detriment and the “mob” mentality reigns when they are called to repentance. And when they do see error and “repent”, it’s usually not genuine and enforceable as they don’t want to be ostracized from the “group”. False repentance is rampant in these circles. We will address true repentance in a later chapter.
2 Peter 3:17-18 “Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, BEING LED AWAY WITH THE ERROR OF THE WICKED, fall from your own stedfastness. But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.”
Peter’s words above are written so the followers of Christ will be on their guard and alert to those who twist the Word of God. He expects his brothers and sisters in Christ not only can, but also should be able to discern those who pervert God’s Word. Every follower of Christ should be able to recognize those about whom Peter warns us above.
Romans 14:5 “One person esteems one day as better than another, while another esteems all days alike. Each one should be FULLY CONVINCED in his own mind.”
These deceivers believe that we can substitute just about anything into the verse as long as we are “convinced in our own minds,” and that justifies it. It’s insane! They divide Romans 14 incorrectly not knowing it is speaking about “special days” because the Jews had human traditions concerning FASTING a couple times each week. Those who did not follow this pattern, they were regarded as less pious. Paul was simply declaring that what we do, or don’t do is okay in terms of Jewish fasting days and dietary practices. The “days” that Paul was referring to were the traditional fast days mentioned in Zechariah 7:5-6.
Paul never condoned the adoption of pagan customs and traditions to honor God with them nor did he condone hate-filled, filthy speech “preaching”. This is way beyond the intention of what Paul was inspired to write. Peter warned us not to misunderstand Paul’s writings.
A simple reading of Romans 14 is about certain foods on fast days and how people’s beliefs about fasting should not be interfered with. The fast days could be observed according to each believer’s conscience. A man could eat, or not eat; keep the day, or not keep it. Each man could observe FAST DAYS, or not observe them, according to their own convictions.
Romans 14:20 “For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence.”
We are called to be set apart in Truth, not unified in lies.
1 John 2:4-6 “He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6 “He that saith he abideth in him ought HIMSELF ALSO SO TO WALK, even as HE (JESUS) walked.”
To build doctrine around the twisting of Scripture according to one’s own exegesis of a certain passage is not rightly dividing the Word. Many need to repent from this “Romans 14″ excuse. And finally, Matthew 18” is speaking to LOCAL church/fellowship matters only, not public sins which are common knowledge; nor is Matthew 18 referring to exposing and rebuking false teachings which have already been shared publicly..
2nd John 1:8-11 “Look to yourselves, that we lose not those things which we have wrought, but that we receive a full reward. 9 Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 10 If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: 11 For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

CHAPTER 4 – Do Not Judge?
One of the infamous sayings sinners, including “saved sinners” use is “do not judge”! Why? They are in sin and don’t want to be reproved. They enjoy their wicked, selfish sin way too much and truly hate God. The biggest culprits? The professing Christians sitting in the Church pews on Sunday.
I can’t remember how many times I have heard “Judge not, that ye be not judged?” Matthew 7:1 is quoted out of context by sinners (especially “saved sinners) who tremble when someone preaches against sin, especially their sin(s). It’s truly mind boggling to hear people get incredibly upset when you give them clear bible verses that call for holiness which “without no one shall see the Lord” Hebrews 12:14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord.” Matthew 7:1 in context (verses 1-5) clearly teaches how one is to judge ==after you have first judged YOURSELF. Jesus commands righteous judging in the boundaries of his moral law. Judging is true love as you care for someone’s lost soul.
Over 700 times in the Holy Bible the word “judge” and its various forms (judging, judges, judgeth, judgment, etc) is used. There is an entire book titled “JUDGES” which was written at a time when God raised up judges to lead His people. We are going to prove beyond a shadow of doubt that God EXPECTS His people to judge. You are sinning if you not! Judging displays godly love in action.
Before you judge others out of love, you have to have judged yourself first. The beam must be out of your own eye before you judge to try to get the mote out of your neighbours eye. 1st Corinthians 11:30-31: “For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged.” If you are a true Christian walking holy and biblically perfect, then you belong to and are a child of God. If you refuse to judge yourself first as a child of God, then God will surely judge you. If you are committing sins of commission (doing what God forbids or does not authorize) and/or sins of omission(failing to do what is good and commanded), He will find you guilty!
When you neglect to judge yourself, you will face troubles in this life as God judges you. Jesus says in Matthew 7:4-5 ” Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother’s eye.” A good judge will never fail to judge himself, in fact, you can’t be a righteous judge if you are not living holy. You would be nothing more than a hypocrite!
Many professing “Christians” wrongly believe a saint is to never judge- but yet everyone judges every day of their life. In fact, it’s downright hateful not to judge someone’s “fruit” (works). Matthew 7:16-17 “Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.” How can you tell if someone’s fruit is good or bad? You must judge, examine, test, inspect. The only way we can help someone and lovingly call them to repentance is to recognize they are in sin. How? By JUDGING. The Bible, which is God’s word even commands us to judge; but we must judge righteously. Let’s put our feelings, emotions and opinions aside and see what the Bible says. That is the number 1 authority, not ourselves or false teachings handed down for generations or the lies taught in “seminary” or “bible school” which are abominations.
The father of lies does not want you to judge because he knows that judging righteously PLEASES God as we obey His commandments.. Someone says, “Many ask should we judge INDIVIDUALS?” 100% yes! Paul REBUKES the Corinthians for NOT judging: “But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person. ” (1st Corinthians 5:11-13) Paul is in big trouble for “misleading these Christians” so says the “DO NOT JUDGE” hereticks! He unequivocally tells them to JUDGE PEOPLE which is RIGHTeous.
How can we obey commands like Romans 16:17-18? 2nd Corinthians 6:17? 2nd Timothy 3:5-6? 1st John 4:1, etc if judging people is wrong? God has greatly contradicted Himself thus His words cannot be trusted if a Christian can’t lovingly judge. Notice Malachi 3:18: “Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.” WOW! It’s surely not wrong to judge sayeth the Lord. Look at Revelation 2:2 ” I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:” Do you really think the Lord would be pleased with these Christians if it was wrong to judge? No way. How can you find someone a liar if you can’t judge? How can you call your sinful neighbour into His marvelous Light if you don’t judge? It’s impossible! Judging properly to “love thy neighbour” honors God. Ignoring this ignores the entirety of scripture. God expects us to judge as it’s true love for one’s eternal soul.
God clearly commands Christians to judge. Psalm 37:30 “The mouth of the righteous speaketh wisdom, and his tongue talketh of judgment.” A true Christian will not REFUSE to judge and will not speak against those that do. He will delight in righteous judgment. Amos 5:14-15 “Seek good, and not evil, that ye may live: and so the LORD, the God of hosts, shall be with you, as ye have spoken. Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.”. You love the evil and hate the good if you don’t to judge. Proverbs 17:15 “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the LORD.”
Ezekiel 33:8-9 “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”
Don’t lose hope in judging, MOST won’t hear you as there must be a FALLING AWAY before Jesus returns. We will discuss, in detail, this great “falling away” in a later chapter.
2nd Thessalonians 2:3 “Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;”
Are you spiritual, then you must judge “all things” 1st Corinthians 2:15. “But he that is spiritual judges ALL THINGS, yet he himself is judged of no man.” Evil men (sinners) do not understand judgment; seekers of God do Proverbs 28:5. “Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.”
We must be constantly abiding in Christ, be in the word and have our swords sharp at all times. Solomon received his kingdom and he asked God for wisdom and discernment to judge. 1st Kings 3:9 “Give therefore thy servant an understanding heart to judge thy people, that I may discern between good and bad: for who is able to judge this thy so great a people?” Pray for wisdom and the ability to judge righteously. James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.”
Never judge things you have no authority to judge. Don’t become a hyper-legalist! . We are to never rush to judgment. Colossians 2:16: “Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days:” These should not be great issues today. Jewish ceremonies (ceremonial law, not moral law) are not required for gentile Christians (see Acts chapter 15); so these things are only an issue if someone wrongly makes them a requirement- since he is contradicting God’s judgment on this matter (again, see Acts chapter 15).
Never have respect of persons as we described in an earlier chapter. Never hold back loving judgment: Proverbs 24:23 “These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.” We are to treat everyone fairly without respect for friends or family members. A righteous judge is never influenced to any outer influence (Isaiah 42:1, 19-21).
Never rush to judgment. Have all the facts before you pass judgment. Jeremiah 5:1 “Run ye to and fro through the streets of Jerusalem, and see now, and know, and seek in the broad places thereof, if ye can find a man, if there be any that executeth judgment, that seeketh the truth; and I will pardon it.” A true judge seeks the truth and gathers as many facts as possible. On the other hand, don’t hold back judgment if the sin is apparent.
Be merciful when you judge. Jesus states in Matthew 7:2: “For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.” one reaps what they sow (Galatians 6:7-8 “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap. 8 For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.”) Don’t be unbiblical and too harsh in judging others unrighteously as God promises the same judgment will return to you. We must remember, although we shall never compromise or sugar-coat the Word of God, He has been very merciful to us even though we did not deserve it. A good loving rebuke surely is commanded 1st Timothy 5:20 “Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear” as wounds heal Proverbs 27:6 “Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Of course we should exercise biblical mercy toward others as you try to reconcile them to Jesus. Yet remember that many abuse God’s mercy. God in His merciful dealings with people never forsakes judgment and thus never overlooks people’s sins, that would be hate which most professing Christians practice. No one can truly be reconciled to Jesus without true repentance from sin (Proverbs 28:13 “Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.”)
Our wicked generation is perfectly explained in Isaiah 59:8: “The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.” There is no peace for those who refuse to judge. In fact, this is the age of humanism and “live and let live”…. Paul said in 1st Corinthians 1:10 “Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be PERFECTLY JOINED TOGETHER IN THE SAME MIND AND IN THE SAME JUDGEMENT.” If judging is wrong, how could the Holy Spirit inspire Paul to make such a statement? That’s impossible. Paul continues to clarify this command 1st Corinthians 2:15 “But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.” It’s not sinful to judge; judging is a command that righteous Christians obey.
Lastly, most professing Christians today would call John the Baptist all kind of derogatory names like; judgmental, hateful, uncaring, cold, legalistic, proud, self-righteous and they would want to have nothing to do with him. Yet Jesus said about John in Luke 7:28 “For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.” John the Baptist, like 11 of the 12 Apostles, got slaughtered for loving others by calling them out of sin unto repentance. The 12th Apostle, John, was boiled in oil before being exiled to the island of Patmos where he received the book of Revelation. Are you loved or hated by the world? This will dictate whether you are currently saved or not. Judging is not only loving, its commanded.
Now, the “Westboro’s” and other “street preaching” railers are hated for unrighteous reasons and their end will be with the heathen they preach to. They are double-minded, hypocritical sinners preaching to sinners. 1st Peter 3:13-17 “And who is he that will harm you, IF ye be FOLLOWERS of that WHICH IS GOOD? 14 But and if ye SUFFER for RIGHTEOUSNESS’ sake, HAPPY ARE YE : and BE NOT AFRAID of their terror, NEITHER BE TROUBLED ; 15 But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: 16 Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accuse your good conversation in Christ. 17 For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.”
CHAPTER 5 – God’s Love & Hate are Conditional
God loves and hates perfectly. His judgment is perfect and His word is eternal and true. As I preach and witness Christ as His disciple, the sinners almost always say “God loves us unconditionally!” I challenge anybody to prove that from the Bible. It’s impossible because that is a bold-faced lie.
You will not find a verse in the bible which states that God loves mankind unconditionally, including “professing Christians” without conditions, His righteous conditions: The moral law that was from the beginning and will be until the end. Some try to wrest scripture like Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. ” or John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” as they try to demonstrate God’s continuous love.
However, if one divides the word correctly, those verses do not say that God loves mankind. They say He loved them. The Greek verb “agapao” (which means loved) as in the aorist tense (past action) and indicative mood (to express a fact), thus a single completed act; that is, not a present tense “loves”, but a past tense “loved”. Now, before you freak out, His love is AVAILABLE to everyone, this is true. You must understand that Jesus died as a SIN OFFERING, and not a magical covering for those still who choose to sin wilfully.
What Jesus did on the Cross was NOT take anyone’s place, BUT Provide Himself as A SIN OFFERING. Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit OFFERED HIMSELF without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?”
Why did Jesus do this? To ransom Man and turn him from Darkness to Light, from the Power of Satan to God! Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”
Surely God acted at point in time past with charity towards a sinful world by giving them a Saviour, that is clear. It does however not imply that God loves all men unconditionally. Scripture says exactly the opposite. It states that God does not love wicked mankind and was sorry that He made them. These truths need to be told.
“The LORD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. And the LORD was SORRY THAT HE HAD MADE MAN ON THE EARTH and it grieved Him to His heart” (Genesis 6:5-6)
One might argue that even though God is sorry that He made man, He still loves them despite their wickedness. You know…”God hates sin, but loves the sinner!” The problem is that popular slogan is not scriptural and was spoken by one of the most wicked men to walk the earth, Mahatma Gandhi.
Gandhi, a worker of iniquity, studied many religious texts and was an abomination to Jesus.
“During his stay in South Africa, along with scriptures and philosophical texts of Hinduism and other Indian religions, Gandhi read translated texts of Christianity such as the Bible, and Islam such as the Quran.mA Quaker mission in South Africa attempted to convert him to Christianity. Gandhi joined them in their prayers and debated Christian theology with them, but refused conversion stating he did not accept the theology therein or that Christ was the only son of God.
His comparative studies of religions and interaction with scholars, led him to respect all religions as well as become concerned about imperfections in all of them and frequent misinterpretations. Gandhi grew fond of Hinduism, and referred to the Bhagavad Gitaas as his spiritual dictionary and greatest single influence on his life.” [Wikipedia]
THERE ARE CONDITIONS TO RECEIVE GOD’S LOVE. If we want to be loved by God, we must “keep His commandments”. This is stated over and over and over again in His word. A few examples that Jesus clearly states are:
“IF ye keep my commandments, YE SHALL ABIDE IN MY LOVE;” (John 15:10)
“IF a man love me, he will keep my words: AND MY FATHER WILL LOVE HIM,” (John 14:23)
“He that HATH MY COMMANDMENTS, AND KEEPETH THEM, HE IS IT THAT LOVETH ME: And he that loveth me SHALL BE LOVED OF MY FATHER…” (John 14:21)
The Scriptures clearly state whom God loves…
“The LORD loveth the righteous.” (Psalms 146:8)
“I love them that love Me.” (Proverbs 8:17)
“…For I the LORD your God am a jealous God …shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.” (Exodus 20:5-6, the 2nd commandment)
According to those verses, all who are not keeping the Commandments of God can be certain that God does not love them (anything contrary is a lie).
The sinning fake Christian has been told over and over again that: “God loves you and has a wonderful plan for your life…”! Sadly, nothing could be farther from the truth; for their end shall be eternal destruction. The “lukewarm” do not make it! Revelation 3:15-16.
God does not hear you in your sin:
John 9:31 “Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.”
Isa 59:1 “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: 2 But your iniquities (SINS) have SEPARATED between you and your GOD, AND YOUR SINS HAVE HID HIS FACE FROM YOU, THAT HE WILL NOT HEAR.”
One of the greatest truths missing in the “Main St Church” is they NEVER preach what and whom God hates. For God perfectly loves and perfectly hates. God is, unlike us, perfect in ALL His attributes. Thus, hatred, fury and jealousy are completely perfect and righteous when expressed on the part of God.
For example, when a human is jealous, it’s usually a selfish, cowardly notion based on a sense of personal offense due to loss of control or possession and consequently, a demeaning of our ego. The spirit of extreme human jealousy is inherently evil, in many instances, consuming the person’s whole being and terrorizing it’s victims! But when God is jealous for us, it is proper and good.
There is only one being like God, perfect & just. Unlike us, He is able to perfectly hate and perfectly love at the same time. He loves the sinner in the sense that He desires for him to turn from his rebellion and return to Him, and OFFERS the mercy, pardon and means for him to do so. At the same time, He hates the actions, attitude of heart and motives of all selfish beings. Without selfish beings, there would be no sin in the world; thus to hate sin apart from the sinner would be logically inconsistent. This is necessarily the case if He loves His children.
Redeemed (saved) children of God understand that since their attributes are not exhaustively perfect like those of God (of course they have to be biblically perfect as commanded), there is no basis for hating anyone. We love by rebuking sinners:
“You shall not hate your brother in your heart. You shall surely rebuke your neighbor, and not bear sin because of him.” Leviticus 19:17
“You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you” Matthew 5:43-44
“And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.” Luke 10:27
We are to correctly diagnose the current state of the sinner (the much-discussed righteous judgment, labeled “hate” by unrepentant sinners), warn them of coming judgment; and present the offer of love, grace and pardon through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ. If the sinner does not repent, the wrath of God rests on him:
“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not (does not obey) the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.” John 3:36
Psalm 5:5 “The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: THOU HATEST all workers of iniquity (sinners).”
Psalm 11:5 “The LORD trieth the righteous: but the wicked and him that loveth violence HIS SOUL HATETH.”
Now that you know God loves and hates perfectly, will you accept these truths and repent if need be from your lukewarmness & unbelief? I pray you choose the narrow road to LIFE.
Proverbs 13:18 “Poverty and shame shall be to him that refuseth instruction: but he that regardeth reproof shall be honoured.”
Proverbs 15:10 “Correction is grievous unto him that forsaketh the way: and he that hateth reproof shall die.”
Proverbs 15:31 “The ear that heareth the reproof of life abideth among the wise. 32 He that refuseth instruction despiseth his own soul: but he that heareth reproof getteth understanding.”
Proverbs 17:10 “A reproof entereth more into a wise man than an hundred stripes into a fool.”
CHAPTER 6 – Biblical Repentance
The professing “church” believes in a false repentance that is spewed from the pulpits week after week. I like to call it the “Billy Graham repentance” which involves a “sinners prayer” that is found NOWHERE in the bible. It’s a shallow, worldly sorrow that leads to this “repentance” and it does not save. In this chapter, I will clearly explain what true, biblical repentance FROM sin unto HOLINESS really is. This chapter might very well be the steering you need to come to true repentance.
Repentance was central to Jesus’ mission as spelled out in all 4 gospels. From the beginning of Jesus’ ministry on earth until the very end, He preached repentance. When Jesus started his ministry, as we clearly see in Mark and Matthew, He called people to repent and believe. Mark 1:14-15 “Now after that John was put in prison, Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God, 15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.”
Jesus’ very first words in HIS ministry on earth was to call people to repentance. The Apostles did exactly the same. Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Jesus clearly states whom He was calling to repentance. Luke 5:32 “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Jesus in fact called ENTIRE CITIES to repentance. Mark 6:11 “And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear you, when ye depart thence, shake off the dust under your feet for a testimony against them. Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city. 12 And they went out, and preached that men should repent.”
As Jesus was departing the earth, He yet again clarified that His disciples are to preach repentance. Luke 24:46 “And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: 47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. 48 And ye are witnesses of these things.”
When the Apostle John received the Book of Revelation from Jesus after His resurrection, Jesus spoke yet again in seven letters to seven churches and calls them to repent 8 times! Do you see how important repentance is to the Lord Jesus and to your very soul?
Many deceivers believe that God forces one to repent and that man has absolutely no say at all. They do not believe in man’s free will. They do not believe that man has to choose to repent and do the “fIrst works”. The Bible rebukes these hereticks. Revelation 2:5 “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and REPENT, and do the FIRST WORKS; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and WILL REMOVE THY CANDLESTICK out of his place, EXCEPT THOU REPENT.”
One is “saved by grace through faith” through the experience of genuine repentance. Without true repentance, there is no Grace. Without the requisite change of mind and heart, one simply cannot exercise the biblical faith necessary in order to experience the quickening of Grace.
Rom 5:1-2 “Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ: 2 “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
Ephesians 2:5 “Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)”
No Repentance = No Transformation = No Salvation
Sinners must be humbled and therefore brought to what can be figuratively called the “lowest room.” It is from thence that a “raising up” may occur.
Luke 14:7-11 “And he put forth a parable to those which were bidden, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying unto them, 8 When thou art bidden of any man to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room; lest a more honourable man than thou be bidden of him; 9 And he that bade thee and him come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room. 10 But when thou art bidden, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that bade thee cometh, he may say unto thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have worship in the presence of them that sit at meat with thee. 11 For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.”
Watch the conditions for repentance here. This is the soul that will receive His grace, not a “saved sinner” that still wilfully “sins daily”as the “99%” of the “churches” preach today.
James 4:6-10 “But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God RESISTETH THE PROUD (SINNER), but giveth grace unto the humble. SUBMIT YOURSELVES therefore to God. RESIST THE DEVIL, and he will flee from you. 8 DRAW NIGH (CLOSE) TO GOD, and (THEN) he will DRAW NIGHT TO YOU. CLEANSE YOUR HANDS (STOP SINNING), YE SINNERS; and PURIFY YOUR HEARTS (STOP SINNING), ye double minded. 9 Be AFFLICTED, and MOURN, and WEEP(ALL CONDITIONS): let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness. 10 HUMBLE YOURSELVES in the sight of the Lord, and (THEN) HE shall lift you up.”
The missing link in these “Main St. Churches” is true, biblical repentance. What is it? The Bible clearly explains:
2 Corinthians 7:10 “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 2Co 7:11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”
Do you see above what repentance entails? It’s not some “sinners prayer” where the “pastor says “repeat after me”. It’s not worldly sorrow where you go to God to get what you want from Him. It’s a total CLEARING, a VEHEMENT DESIRE a CLEARING OF YOURSELVES from all sin and wickedness- then, salvation can take place.
For true repentance to have taken place the following MUST have occurred:
1) A season of deep felt godly sorrow for sin (Invoked by Spirit of Truth working, Jh16:8)
2) A crisis of conviction that cuts to the heart (Sin already being forsaken).
3) A zeal to CLEAR oneself of all wrongdoing against God (make restitution if necessary).
4) Indignation and fear that leads to vehement desire to STOP sinning.
5) Approve yourself with PURITY of heart. (2nd Cor 7:10-11 & James 4:7-10) .
Every incident of repentance in Scripture follows this process. (Don’t let anyone tell you it doesn’t, and they will most certainly try). The sin STOPS at repentance… The old man DIES here… The flesh is Crucified HERE. NOT afterwards as most will try to tell you. The desires and conduct are CHANGED here (or never will be).
OBEDIENCE to God follows in NEWNESS of life and all things are new.
Romans 6:4-6 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”
2 Corinthians 5:17 “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a NEW CREATURE: old things (SIN AND SINFUL DESIRES) are passed away; behold, ALL THINGS ARE BECOME NEW.”
If you have NOT experienced this and have NO IDEA what it means, you are NOT BORN of the SPIRIT. You’ve simply not been born-again in your false repentance.
You may indeed have ‘RECEIVED’ Christ, and ‘believed’ on His Name (repeated some words) BUT the devils ALSO believe. James 2:19 “Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.”
Don’t let anyone tell you differently, the Bible clearly states a person is SAVED by what he DOES and NOT by “faith alone” as many preach falsely. They wrest scripture and do not preach the WHOLE COUNSEL of GOD. Acts 20:27 “For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.” We can never throw out some Scripture to make our own doctrine. It’s either all or nothing. James 2:24 “Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.” The what he DOES part STARTS with this REPENTANCE (A “clearing of yourselves” as explained in 2nd Corinthians 7:11 and a “cleansing your hands” as per James 4:8, etc).
Acts 26:20 “I preached that they should repent and turn to God and prove their repentance by their deeds!”
Repentance lays the necessary foundation whereby the will of an individual actually becomes workable unto God. A wild horse must be broken before it will submit to a rider, likewise a wild and self-willed sinner must be broken (Matthew 21:44) before they will submit to God. When submitted to and abiding in God, the sensual, intellectual and emotional aspects of a human being become ordered and functional. One does not act on their worldly emotions and feelings anymore, they are instead led by the Spirit of the Living God. Repentance gives access and thus allows one to effectively utilize the transforming power of “saved by grace through faith.”
The Bible teaches “repentance for remission of sins” because sins remittance (justification) is conditioned upon the manifest state of an individual’s heart (works, action, fruit). In Acts we read:
Acts 3:19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord”
In this order: Repentance ——-> Conversion ——–> Refreshing
Repentance brings about a conversion, whereupon the refreshing can take place.
refreshing – anapsuxis – G403 [Strong’s] From G404; properly a recovery of breath, that is, (figuratively) revival: – revival
The “refreshing” is the heart change or new birth experience which is brought about by man yielding to the Spirit of God being received within. Being that the new heart is no longer rebellious towards God, it is therefore not operating in discordance with reality, the true self within having come into alignment with its proper function as designed by God. It is then that God is willing to look past the previous improper function and thus be merciful in regards to “sins that are past” (Rom 3:25) and purge from “old sins” (2 Pe 1:9). It is for this reason that the Bible teaches “repentance for remission” as opposed to a “provision for remission.” The “will” or “yielding of the heart” is what changes in repentance, whilst the new birth encompasses the love of God being shed abroad within the heart. Romans 5:5 “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
The Bible does not teach a substitutional “provision for remission,” a notion in which the underlying factor pertaining to the remittance of sin is a “positional legal adjustment.” The idea of a “provision” in such a context completely circumvents addressing the true condition of the heart. Under “repentance for remission” an individual enters into the New Covenant (“draws near” with a TRUE HEART (Hebrews 10:22 “Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.”) via the blood (Hebrews 10:19 “Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus”) and thus receives both the cleansing of past sins (Act 3:19, Heb 10:17,22; 2 Pet 1:9), and experiences the law being written upon the heart and in the mind (Heb 10:16,22), the imprint which then saves an individual from present sin. Let’s read this glorious truth in totality:
Hebrews 10:16-23 “This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; 17 And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. 18 Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. 19 Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, 20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; 21 And having an high priest over the house of God; 22 Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)”
true- alethinos – G228 [Strong’s] From G227; truthful: – true.
The word “repentance” is rendered from the Greek word “metanoia”…
Repentance – metanoia – G3341 [Strong’s] From G3340; (subjectively) compunction (for guilt, including reformation); by implication reversal (of [another’s] decision): – repentance.
In Greek, “meta” pertains to “change” whilst “noia” pertains to “thought.” Repentance is the change of one’s mind as it pertains to sin, righteousness and judgment. God is willing to grant mercy to those who would both confess and forsake their sin and those whom would forsake wickedness and unrighteousness in order to embrace righteousness that is the whole counsel of God’s Word.
Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
Repentance is where we are to figuratively die with Christ in putting off our old (sinful) man, the old way of conducting ourselves (living in sin) and choosing to live righteous unto God. Paul teaches this by presenting us with several parallels…
Romans 6:4-7 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.”
Again, Jesus came to free captives FROM SIN, not IN SIN. Listen closely to these verses:
John 8:31-36 “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, IF YE CONTINUE IN MY WORD, then are ye my disciples indeed; 32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. 33 They answered him, We be Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? 34 Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, WHOSOEVER COMMITTETH SIN IS A SERVANT OF SIN. 35 And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. 36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.”
How can one believe they are a “saved sinner” when the Bible clearly states that one that commits sin is a servant of sin. How about “he that committeth sin is of the devil”?
1st John 3:3-10 “And every man that hath this hope in him PURIFIETH HIMSELF, even as HE (JESUS) is pure. 4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law. 5 And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin. 6 Whosoever abideth in him SINNETH NOT: WHOSOEVER SINNETH hath not seen him, neither known him. 7 Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. 8 HE THAT COMMITTETH SIN IS OF THE DEVIL; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.9 WHOSOEVER IS BORN OF GOD DOTH NOT COMMIT SIN; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God. 10 In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: WHOSOEVER DOETH NOT RIGHTEOUSNESS IS NOT OF GOD, neither he that loveth not his brother.”
These loving truths are not preached in the false church today for one reason- to get your $$ as spelled out in 2nd Peter Chapter 2. If you have not read that chapter as I suggested before, please read it. Finally, many have “knowledge” but never come to true repentance (TRUTH).
2 Timothy 3:1-7 “This know also, that IN THE LAST DAYS PERILOUS TIMES SHALL COME. 2 For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, 3 natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, DESPISERS OF THOSE THAT ARE GOOD (TRUE CHRISTIANS), 4 Traitors, heady, highminded, LOVERS OF PLEASURES MORE THEN LOVERS OF GOD; 5 Having a FORM OF GODLINESS, but DENYING THE POWER THEROF (THE ABILITY TO BE TRULY SAVED… FROM SIN): from such TURN AWAY. 6 For of this sort are they which creep into houses, and lead captive silly women laden with sins, led away with divers lusts, 7 EVER LEARNING, and NEVER ABLE TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH.”
I pray you now understand what true, biblical repentance is now; and if need be, repent the way Jesus commands which leads to LIFE. GREAT CHAPTER!
CHAPTER 7 – Suffer or “Best Life Now”?
Now that you know what repentance truly is, let’s talk about how you must suffer for Jesus. Yup, you heard that right, SUFFER. The “Main St. Church” preaches your “Best Life Now” to their destruction, Jesus says the exact opposite. The “Americanized Church” has bastardized the entire gospel and the fact that a true disciple must suffer for Christ is no exception.
Every 4 seconds a child dies of man-made POVERTY (21,000 precious souls under 5 years old per day). Christians are being beheaded daily and the persecution around the world is getting drastically worse by the day. I hear these reports from our mission fields in Kenya & Bangladesh daily. So, the command by Jesus is to SUFFER as our brothers and sisters are suffering! Are you?!?
1 Corinthians 12:26 “And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.”
Moses knew Hebrews 11:24-26 “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season; 26 Esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward.”
Jesus suffered the most incredible pain and ridicule for us and HIS example is what we are to follow. 1 Peter 2:19-21 “For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully. For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God. For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps: “
It never fails when I am contending the the faith calling souls to repentance that all I have to do is to quote a Bible verse or two and the sinner goes “crazy”! They are offended and furious when you say something like “Jesus left us an example on how we are to suffer for HIM. We are to walk as He walked”. I can’t repeat this verse enough. 1Jn 2:6 “He that saith he abideth in HIM (JESUS) ought HIMSELF also so to walk, even as he(JESUS) walked.”
True disciples of Christ count it joy to be worthy to suffer for Him. Acts 5:40-42 “And to him they agreed: and when they had called the apostles, and beaten them, they commanded that they should not speak in the name of Jesus, and let them go. And they departed from the presence of the council, rejoicing that they were counted worthy to suffer shame for his name. And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.” This is a spiritual war and we must please Him as a good soldier. 2 Timothy 2:3-4 “Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. 4 No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.” The LORD will deliver you out of these afflictions and sufferings as long as you stay faithful to Him. 2nd Timothy 3:10-12 “But thou hast fully known my doctrine, manner of life, purpose, faith, longsuffering, charity, patience, 11 Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.”
The bottom line is all these sufferings can’t compare, not even in the smallest way, to the reward of eternal life in Heaven. Romans 8:18 “For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.”
The heretical “Best Life Now” deceivers attract the professing Christian with ease. They are simply sinning “pastors” leading a sinning church right to hellfire. I truly loved to hear this watered-down message when I was still in willful sin between 2006-2012. I thought that as long as I went to church every Sunday, I was OK no matter how I lived. I never heard, ever, about how we are to suffer for HIM. I simply wanted my itching ears tickled and the “99%+” do a great job of that. Of course, the Bible predicted this a couple thousand years ago. Unsound doctrine is rampant in the “church”. The “Main St. Church” is now a curse, not a blessing. It’s a judgment on the sinner who does not truly want to come to Jesus, but live their “best life now”. 2nd Timothy 4:1-8 “I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; 2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine. 3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts (SINFUL DESIRES) shall they heap to themselves teachers (FALSE “MAIN ST PASTORS”), HAVING ITCHING EARS; 4 And they shall TURN AWAY THEIR EARS FROM THE TRUTH, and shall be TURNED INTO FABLES. 5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 6 For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. 7 I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: 8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing. “
You can’t serve two masters. Matthew 6:24 “No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.” Many of you have no root in Jesus. You have a peripheral outward “belief” but you are not grounded and you do not want to lose the things of this world like family, friends, a good job, etc. Matthew 13:20-21 “But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; 21 Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.” Sadly, the majority will hear this on that great day of judgment. Matthew 7:22-23 “Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
You must be totally committed to Christ and endure ‘til the end to be finally saved. You must be prepared to be hated as all true Christians are. Once I accepted this fact and chose LIFE, I started to be hated immediately from the world. This included family, “friends”, etc. Are you ready? You may not have tomorrow. Matthew 24:9-14 “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
I used to think I was SUPER SPIRITUAL when I made the decision to not only attend “church” for an hour on Sunday, but on Wednesday evening too! WOW! I was a 2 day a week church goer and thought that was being super dedicated to the Lord. What a joke so says the Lord. The message that was preached was a 22 minute “Mc Sermon” that all the “Main St. Churches” preached. Of course after 30 minutes of godless CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) that puts one in a trance as they set up the hearer to give $$$. You can walk in to any of these dens of devils and hear the same message over and over and over again. It’s something like this “Jesus loves you so live you life to the fullest and have your best life now”. These wolves never spoke about suffering, living holy & perfect, denying self, etc. As I stated before, this is judgment on the sinner. Sadly, they think they are going to stroll right in the front door of heaven. How grevious. Choose to SUFFER for Jesus and rejoice in doing so.
1 Peter 4:12-19 “Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: 13 But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 14 If ye be reproached for the name of Christ, happy are ye; for the spirit of glory and of God resteth upon you: on their part he is evil spoken of, but on your part he is glorified. 15 But let none of you suffer as a murderer, or as a thief, or as an evildoer, or as a busybody in other men’s matters. 16 Yet if any man suffer as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on this behalf. 17 For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? 18 And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear? 19 Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.”
CHAPTER 8 – Do I Have to Live Holy & Perfect?
When I was in the false church system, I was told that God did not see me in my sin. As long as I “believed”, I was told God only saw “Jesus”. I was told Jesus made me perfect. I was told Jesus imputed His righteousness to me no matter what. When I first read that I had to live “perfect” to make it to heaven, that I would be judged by my works, I was so broken. Why? I realized that I was heading to hell and so many people that were supposed to guide and care for me were hellbound, bold faced liars! Stay with me here, first, let’s define “perfection” according to the Bible; this is so very important.

We see the biblical definitions of “perfect” above. Now let’s see the command.
Matthew 5:48 “Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.”
PERFECT?… In this world?… Really? When we define “perfect” in terms that would make it impossible for us to emulate, then of course it’s impossible for us to be “perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect.”
However, Jesus still commands us “Be Ye Perfect…” Now you could call Christ a liar in commanding a Christian to be perfect but that would be disingenuous and I doubt that questioning His character would be a good thing to do… Or, you can search for the answer to what He truly meant… When God tells us to “buy truth” then He is telling us that truth will cost us…EVERYTHING! Therefore, you must be willing to “pay the price” for truth and must “count the cost”.
We know that Jesus would NEVER give a command that one could not choose to fulfill. He would never set a standard that we could not attain… if we truly wanted to. Surely we can be “perfect as our heavenly Father is perfect.” Will we ever be perfect in that we know all that is knowable like He does? NO, of course not! Will we ever be perfect in that we have the power to do all that is doable as He does?… NO, we will never be that kind of perfect. Yet, we still can be PERFECT just like our Heavenly Father commanded! Remember, we are to walk as HE walked (1st John 2:6).
How is this achieved? God conducts Himself in a way where He uses ALL His knowledge and ALL His abilities in a benevolent manner. The Scripture tells us that God is love (Agape’); that He chooses the highest good of His creation… The perfection that Christ requires of each of us is that we do the same; that we love Him with ALL our heart, mind, soul, and strength and that we love others as we love ourselves… And we do that based on the amount of knowledge (light) and ability each of us currently possesses.
How do we love HIM? By “KEEPING HIS COMMANDMENTS”. John 14:15 “IF ye love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.” Only when you keep His commandments are you His friend. John 15:14 “Ye are my friends, IF ye do whatsoever I command you.” When God COMMANDS you to love Him with ALL your heart, that ALL is based on your knowledge and ability. That is the same perfection of heart that that He has! And as our knowledge and abilities grow then our ALL changes likewise. Your ALL in the future may well be different than your ALL today; and my ALL is different than your ALL… Yet in this manner, each of our “perfection” is exactly the same as our Heavenly Father!
Now I pray you understand that of course we can be “perfect as our Heavenly Father is perfect!” Jesus never would have commanded us to be perfect if we didn’t have the ability to obey Him. It is a perfection of the heart. A perfection of the ultimate intention of our heart. To do the very best we know of with the amount of ability we have.
Willful sinning must stop at repentance, so, commands like “Go and sin no more” and “Be Ye perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect” now make total sense. It’s the standard that Christ set for those who would choose to follow Him, for those who would be His true disciples. He has called us all to be His disciples. That’s NORMAL Christianity, not the “we sin everyday in thought, word and deed” the wicked wolves in the false church preach! Sadly, many honor Him with their lips but their heart is far from Him. The doctrines of men are preached from these pulpits of damnation.
Mark 7:6-9 “He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. 7 Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. 8 For laying aside the commandment of God, ye hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things ye do. 9 And he said unto them, Full well ye reject the commandment of God, that ye may keep your own tradition.”
Let’s make this clear, I have never said I have never sinned, I have never said that I couldn’t sin in the future, I have never said that I have not sinned since becoming a Christian (shame on me, I have in the past and it took me 6 years to wake up and come back to Christ in bitter repentance). I’m simply declaring that I am living holy right now and will strive (agonize) to never sin again. Luke 13:24 Strive (AGONIZE, FIGHT, LABOUR) to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.”
We will be clearly be judged by what we DO (our works/fruit). 1 John 3:7 KJV “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.”
I’m Righteous in 2 ways. My past sins have been forgiven and I’m obeying God right now. I am an obedient child of God living holy. The question is, are you? 1 Peter 1:14-16 “As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy. ” Noah was a “just and perfect man” Genesis 6:9 “These are the generations of Noah: Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God.” You must “overcome” and “keepeth MY works” to make it into heaven. Revelation 2:26-28 “And he that overcometh, and keepeth my works unto the end, to him will I give power over the nations: And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father. And I will give him the morning star.”
I want to end this chapter by rebuking a false doctrine that is perpetuated in the “Main St. Church” today. It’s the lie of unconditional “imputed righteousness”. A doctrine that states Jesus Imputes HIS righteousness to you no matter what. This is a “perfect” doctrine for all the deceived “saved sinners” in the “church” today.
In the Bible ‘Perfect’ means: Maturity, lacking nothing necessary to completeness, consummate human integrity and virtue. It does NOT mean Godlike perfection but it DOES mean a heart of perfect devotion to God, walking in full obedience. The axiom ‘no one is perfect’ is NOT found in the pages of Scripture. Basically, this excuse was invented by the notion that God requires total and absolute perfection from man and since NO human can achieve such a thing, Christ had to show up on scene, live a perfect life without sinning and then offer Himself as a Provision in man’s place to satisfy God so He would no longer see ‘sinful’ man but only Christ in his place. Man has but to ‘believe’ in this Provision and be avowed ‘Perfect’ in Christ, (even though he remains wretched to the core). This is basically the premise of ‘Christian’ belief in the world today. This is the lie of unconditional “imputed righteousness”.
However, this is another absurdity NOT found in the Bible. The reason it is accepted with open arms among present day “believers” is they have all been convinced (by more illogic) that everyone is born in sin, saved in sin and can NEVER Stop sinning. Therefore, if they were to actually consider what the Bible says about perfection, sin and purity of heart as truth, they would be terrified out of their wits! Their comfortable “best life now” would have to end. Imagine what this would mean to them ….. ‘NO fornicating Christians, NO Drunken Christians, NO Christians living in the lust and filthiness of the flesh, NO smoking Christians, NO “Sunday morning only Christians”… That would empty out the ranks of professed believers in short order. In fact, this has happened a few times that I know. One instance was of a church with 100+ members that was being taught these godless fallacies, including unconditional “imputed righteousness”. Years after he started the church, the pastor finally came around to the truth and started to preach the real Gospel that saves FROM sin. The church shut its doors just a few months after this message was preached as the “saved sinners” were just that, sinners heading to hell. They did not want to truly repent and walk as Jesus walked.
If a ‘believer’ actually had to ‘“work out their own salvation in fear and trembling” (Philippians 2:12) and make their “calling and election sure” in Christ, (2Pet1:10) by putting forth a genuine effort to ADD to their faith, it would be the end of fantasy land for a LOT of people. Instead of constantly telling the people they are nothing more than poor helpless sinners saved by Grace, the preachers would actually have to “present’ EVERY man PERFECT in Christ! Colossians 1:28 “Whom we preach, warning every man, and teaching every man in all wisdom; that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus” and Eph 4:13 “Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ” and 1st Timothy 4:12 “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity”. Contrary to the false belief most professed believers are under, the Bible actually REQUIRES a Christian to Romans 12:1-2 “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
The common excuse of everyone sinning daily in thought, word and deed is a DEADLY fallacy among the professed. These people live in constant defeat because they have never truly repented or strived to enter the narrow gate, dug deep to lay a firm foundation in Christ or counted the cost of discipleship. (2Cor 7:10-11, Matt 7:14, Lk6:48, 13:24, 14:28). If they had, their hearts would have been made truly PURE by obedience to the truth and the purging Blood of Christ! (1Pet1:22, Heb 9:14). They say it’s “prideful” or “self righteous” to claim a “departure from iniquity” (2 Tim 2:19) or to have deeds meet for repentance (Acts 26:20) and their “eyes opened from darkness to Light “(Acts 26:18). It’s amazing they shun a person as one who is seeking to self-justify if they actually obey Christ, stop sinning and DO what is right by the Master who commands us to GO AND SIN NO MORE!!! (John 5:14, 8:11). Do you believe the same thing? Most of you don’t even believe what Jesus said is possible. I pray you change your heart and mind on this today and repent.
CHAPTER 9 – The Grave Sins of O’MISSION!
Up to this point, we have been discussing what the Bible commands one to do; keep His commandments. Let’s look at the sins that has hell filling up more and more each and every day. The sins of omission. Let’s clarify first what sins of omission are.
Sins of commission – doing what God forbids or does not authorize.
Sins of omission – failing to do what is good (and commanded).
The Biblical definition of the sins of omission is James 4:17 “Therefore to him that KNOWETH TO DO GOOD, and DOETH IT NOT, to him IT IS SIN.”
One of the most egregious sins I have witnessed in Christendom is not taking care of the poor (the orphan, widow and the “least of these our brethren”). I want you to keep in mind a few real-life statistics that plague the world today. Then ask yourself, WWJD and then ask yourself, what am I doing? Most reading this book are so corrupted by the 1st world and all her sins. I pray you wake up. It’s not a sin to make money, it is a sin to spend the lionshare on yourself and also hord most of it as so many do. There is a “rainy day” each and every day for millions of precious souls. Sew into them!
Some 21,000 children die every day around the world. (globalissues.org)
That is equivalent to:
- 1 child dying every 4 seconds
- 14 children dying every minute
- A 2010 Haiti earthquake occurring every 10 days
- Just under 7.6 million children dying every year
- Some 92 million children dying between 2000 and 2010
The silent killers are poverty, hunger, easily preventable diseases and illnesses, and other related causes. Despite the scale of this daily/ongoing catastrophe, it rarely manages to achieve, much less sustain, prime-time, headline coverage. However, God knows each and every death and will charge so many as GUILTY on judgment day for not helping these poor souls. Wake up “christian”!
From UNICEF – (DOES THIS MAKE YOU WEEP)?
- 2.5 billion people lack access to improved sanitation
- 1 billion children are deprived of one or more services essential to survival and development
- 148 million under 5 y/o in developing regions are underweight for their age
- 101 million children are not attending primary school, with more girls than boys missing out
- 22 million infants are not protected from diseases by routine immunization
- 7.6 million children worldwide died before their 5th birthday in 2010
- 4 million newborns worldwide are dying in the first month of life
- 2 million children under 15 are living with HIV
- >500,000 women die each year from causes related to pregnancy and childbirth
- Across 96 countries, around 1 BILLION CHILDREN ages 2 to 17 experienced some form of violence in the past year. (UNESCO, 2016 Global Education Monitoring Report Gender Review: Creating Sustainable Futures for All.)
As an overseer of indigenous missionaries and responsible for many orphans, widows, etc in Africa and Asia, I see the sin of not obeying Jesus in this area of “giving” by so many people. Charity, the way Jesus commands, is almost non-existent in Christendom today. Many will give an unbiblical “tithe” to their “pastor”, but rarely or never give to the poor. Unbiblical tithes are when one gives to the pastor to edify their lavish lifestyle, etc. They will take ungodly, expensive trips, travel all over for “ministry” when it’s not necessary and entertain themselves under the cloak of “Christianity”; but they are not fooling God. Biblical tithes are surely commanded by the body of Christ to support godly ministers and the poor. I am going to post below a few of the Bible’s commands on this subject. I want you to ask yourself, “Am I walking as Jesus is commanding me to walk or am I walking like the ‘99%+’”? Does this sound like you below?
Acts 2:42-47 “And they (THE BELIEVERS) continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship (note that they were wholeheartedly disciples committed to the WHOLE counsel of God which is what makes the following things so meaningful), and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. 43 And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. 44 And ALL THAT BELIEVED WERE TOGETHER, and HAD ALL THINGS IN COMMON (available to the needs of the poor believers – not Communism – see Acts 5:4); 45 And SOLD THEIR POSSESSIONS AND GOODS (NON-NECESSITIES), and PARTED THEM TO ALL MEN, AS EVERY MAN HAD NEED. 46 And they, CONTINUING DAILY IN ONE ACCORD in the temple, and BREAKING BREAD FROM HOUSE TO HOUSE, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart, 47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.”
Did you read that closely. They “had everything in common”, they sold what they did not need and “parted them to all men”, etc. Does this sound like you? Do you “sow bountifully” or do you “sow sparingly”? Let’s see what the consequences are if you don’t obey His commands in this area.
2 Corinthians 9:6-9 “But this I say, He which soweth sparingly shall reap also sparingly; and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully. 7 Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver. 8 And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work: 9 As it is written, He hath dispersed abroad; he hath given to the poor: his righteousness remaineth for ever.”
The “rich young ruler” did not heed God’s command. Will you?
Matthew 19:21 “Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me.”
According to the statistics I posted above, are you rich or poor according to the rest of the world? I can almost guarantee you can cut back in so many areas of spending on YOURSELF. I surely did when I studied these verses and finally came to the knowledge of the truth. Do you watch wicked, godless TV? The average cable TV bill in the United States in 2016 was $103.10! That’s in excess of $1,200 PER YEAR to watch filth on TV. $1,200usd can feed an entire village in the 3rd world for a few months! It can build 2+ homes in the 3rd world. $1,200 could purchase 240 “clean birth kits” kits that could save countless lives. (1 million women and infants die yearly of simple infections after birth. For every woman who dies, 30 more suffer a debilitating illness or permanent disability.) Are you spending money foolishly?
How about that expensive yearly vacation you take to feed your flesh? That thousand or more can save more lives than you know. Are you part of this? Do you spend money on yourself instead of serving others as the Lord commands? Do you spend time on entertaining your flesh instead of walking in the Spirit being in the word and building up brothers and sisters in Christ? Remember, 21,000 children under 5 years old die of poverty-relation conditions daily. WWJD? Psalm 9:17 “The wicked shall be turned into hell, and all the nations that forget God.”
How about all that traveling you do for “ministry” that costs thousands per year that is unnecessary as we are called to fellowship and build up the body of Christ locally, predominantly? Do you buy tickets to filthy organized sports games or movies that dishonor God in so many ways? How about that house with 3 bedrooms you have but are now without children living in the house? You could downsize, move to a more remote area where it’s cheaper and give the profit from the home and the monthly savings on taxes, bills, etc to the poor. I could go on and on and on, but am sure you get the idea.
1 John 3:17 “But whoso hath this world’s good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?”
The warning to the RICH. Remember, do not compare yourself to a billionaire in business or Hollywood! 80% of the world lives on less than $2.50 per day.
Luke 6:24-26 “But woe unto you that are rich! for ye have received your consolation. 25 Woe unto you that are full! for ye shall hunger. Woe unto you that laugh now! for ye shall mourn and weep. 26 Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.”
Choose to suffer now with Jesus and reap eternally; or, live “rich” now and you will reap eternal torment in the Lake of Fire.
James 5:1-6 “Go to now, ye rich men, weep and howl for your miseries that shall come upon you. 2 Your riches are corrupted, and your garments are motheaten. 3 Your gold and silver is cankered; and the rust of them shall be a witness against you, and shall eat your flesh as it were fire. Ye have heaped treasure together for the last days. 4 Behold, the hire of the labourers who have reaped down your fields, which is of you kept back by fraud, crieth: and the cries of them which have reaped are entered into the ears of the Lord of sabaoth. 5 Ye have lived in pleasure on the earth, and been wanton; ye have nourished your hearts, as in a day of slaughter. 6 Ye have condemned and killed the just; and he doth not resist you.”
Listen to the seriousness of God here. You do not want to be on the wrong side of this command.
Exodus 22:21-24 “Thou shalt neither vex a stranger, nor oppress him: for ye were strangers in the land of Egypt. 22 Ye shall not afflict any widow, or fatherless child. 23 If thou afflict them in any wise, and they cry at all unto me, I will surely hear their cry; 24 And my wrath shall wax hot, and I will kill you with the sword; and your wives shall be widows, and your children fatherless.”
Are you a “good samaritan” (Luke 10:25-37) or are you too busy with your own life and your own family, friends, etc to worry about these people “over there” you will never see? One last warning for those who don’t obey Jesus in giving to the poor.
Matthew 25:45-46 “Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. 46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
CHAPTER 10- Too Merciful & Compromising?
This is another stronghold that can lead to sin so very quick. We know the Bible says we are to not “suffer sin on our brother” lest we hate him (Lev 19:17). We need to love our neighbour as ourselves, so, we must make sure we don’t compromise on ANYTHING. Most everyone I talk to has a story or two where they noticed their brother (or sister) display some sort of very minor compromise, something that may have looked small, at the time. Let’s say they posted a CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) song or one of the “Christian” sports figures or a Hollywood “Christian”. There is no such thing as a “Christian Actor” in Hollywood. Being part of such an abomination means they can’t be abiding in and obeying Jesus. Same with organized sports. It’s impossible to be part of an abomination like professional or college sports which is highly esteemed among men. The debauchery that goes on in Holywood, organized sports, etc is 100% against a holy God.
For a complete expose on organized sports, visit sports.globalmissionforchildren.org, and for the CCM (Contemporary Christian Music) expose, visit music.globalmissionforchildren.org.
Luke 16:15 “And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.”
Make no mistake about it, these small compromises need to be rebuked immediately. I can’t recall how many times I have seen and counseled those who let this stuff slide, and before you know it, they are in full apostasy or back in the “Main St Church” deception heading to hell. It’s incredibly grievous and it all stems from having a respecter of persons attitude.
Acts 10:34-35 “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: 35 But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”
You must fear God, not man.
Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”
Maybe you don’t want to ruffle the feathers of a friend or family member? If so, you are not with Christ and are downright hateful. Let’s look at what love looks like in the Bible. Wounds heal, kisses kill.
Proverbs 27:5-6 “Open REBUKE is better than secret love. 6 FAITHFUL are the WOUNDS of a friend; but the KISSES (TENDER, TOLERANT MERCIES) of an enemy are deceitful.”
We must 2nd Timothy 4:2 “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
Condone the wicked, or, just don’t call them out of sin, and you are guilty.
Proverbs 24:23-25 “These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment. 24 He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him: 25 But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.”
Condoning sinners gets you a ticket to hell.
Pro 17:15 “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even THEY BOTH ARE ABOMINATION to the LORD.”
Proverbs 11:18-21 “The wicked worketh a deceitful work: but to HIM THAT SOWETH RIGHTEOUSNESS shall be a sure reward. 19 As righteousness tendeth to life: so he that pursueth evil pursueth it to his own death. 20 They that are of a froward heart are abomination to the LORD: but such as ARE UPRIGHT IN THEIR WAY are his delight. 21 Though hand join in hand, the wicked shall not be unpunished: but THE SEED OF THE RIGHTEOUS SHALL BE DELIVERED.”
Love is rebuking sin and warning that even one sin=hell.
Mark 10:19-22 “Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother. 20 And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth. 21 Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, ONE THING THOU LACKEST: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me. 22 And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.”
If you see someone “draw back”, you must love them and reprove them in hopes they repent.
Hebrews 10:38 “Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.”
King david knew what godly love was.
Psalm 141:5 “Let the righteous SMITE me; it shall be a KINDNESS: and let him REPROVE ME; it shall be an EXCELLENT OIL, which shall not break my head(I will not be discouraged): for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities (without anger or malice).”
SMITE = H1986 hâlam [haw-lam’] A primitive root; to strike down; by implication to hammer, stamp, conquer, disband: – beat (down), break (down), overcome, smite (with the hammer).
If the righteous smite me with severity of words, I shall take it as an act of kindness and benevolence; on the other hand, the bland words (false love) of a “saved sinner”, smooth as oil, which wound more than sharp arrows, may God keep me from. Or, in other words, I had rather be slain by the severe words (that potentially heal my soul and prayerfully lead me to repent and forsake all my sins) of the righteous than to be anointed by the oily and impious words of the wicked false “pew warming christian” that preached a false “love” that damns.
IT WILL BE TOO LATE WHEN JESUS RETURNS OR AT YOUR LAST BREATH
John 16:8 “And when he is come, HE (JESUS) will REPROVE THE WORLD OF SIN, and of RIGHTEOUSNESS, and of JUDGEMENT 9 Of SIN, because THEY BELIEVE NOT IN ME; 10 Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more; 11 Of JUDGEMENT, because the prince of this world (Satan) is judged.”
Revelation 22:11 “He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.”
Reproving is commanded Ephesians 5:11 “And have NO FELLOWSHIP with the unfruitful works of darkness(SINNERS), but rather REPROVE THEM.”
Scripture is given for reproof and correction. Never be a coward and not use it when commanded.
2 Timothy 3:16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness“
You would rather walk alone than with 100 fools that will drag you down to hell. Have faith in Jesus that HE will provide for you, not only for your physical needs, but also godly saints you can fellowship with. This leads us to the next chapter which will explain how a Christian is not to be a “friend of sinners”.
CHAPTER 11 – Jesus was NOT a Friend of Sinners
There are many popular sayings in the church world today and more often than not they are fallacies to attract more willful sinners with itching ears. One such saying is that “Jesus is a friend to sinners.” The definition of friend is: One who is attached to another by affection; one who entertains for another sentiments of esteem, respect and affection, which lead him to desire his company, and to seek to promote his happiness and prosperity; opposed to foe or enemy. “A friend loveth at all times.” Proverbs 17:17
Is there anywhere in the 66 books of the bible that states God is a friend of sinners? Absolutely, unequivocally, not! Yet many professing “Christians” state this as a fact!. They have made up a “god” modeled to their lifestyle and culture who is nothing like the God of Scripture. When they are confronted with the real God, they don’t recognize Him and call the person witnessing to them hateful, crazy, radical, etc. They despise true Christians more than atheists, etc.
Hebrews 7:26 “For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, SEPARATE FROM SINNERS, and made higher than the heavens”
“Separate from sinners” – Jesus did not associate with them as such. He did not partake of their feelings, plans, pleasures (present examples are – bars, nightclubs, strip joints, hellywood movies, commercialized sports, etc, etc). Though He mingled with them, it was merely to do them good (call them to repentance), and in all His life there was a complete separation from the feelings, principles, and views of a sinful world. Same goes for false brethren: 1Co 5:11 “But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.”
Much of the Christian contemporary music scene strengthens the devils image; a falsehood that is devilish One such song is Casting Crowns’ “Jesus, Friend Of Sinners”. Deceivers like this claim that Jesus loves everyone. They will state again and again that “Jesus is a friend to sinners”? How far from the truth these deceivers truly are.
In John 15:14, Jesus clearly spells out exactly who His friends are-, watch closely as you can’t get around the Holy Word of God. John 15:14 “Ye are my friends, IF YE DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU.” Do sinners obey Jesus? No! They are “children of disobedience” by definition. Ephesians 2:2 “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience”. Wrath is on such sinners Eph 5:6 “Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.” and Col 3:6 For which things’ sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience”. Surely we could end the debate right here. Jesus clarifies without a doubt His friends truly are. Let’s continue to prove that Jesus is NOT a friend of sinners.
“Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.” John 9:31
God doesn’t even hear sinners lest they truly repent (confess AND forsake their sins). We discussed true repentance in chapter 6. The saying that Jesus is a “friend to sinners” is not scriptural and is not taught in the bible, ever. Let’s look at the source and the absurdity of such a statement.
The religious leaders when Jesus’ walked the earth claimed that Jesus was a “friend of sinners” as a way to disparage Him before the people. This is a false charge! Matthew 11:19 “The Son of man came eating and drinking, and they say, Behold a man gluttonous, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners. But wisdom is justified of her children.” If you believe Jesus was a friend of sinners, then you must believe He was a glutton and drunk too- and that is blasphemy! Luke 7:34 “The Son of man is come eating and drinking; and ye say, Behold a gluttonous man, and a winebibber, a friend of publicans and sinners!” These hereticks were mocking Him and all they said was false.
The Jews clearly knew that Jesus (God) was not a friend of sinners. He was angry with the wicked “every day” Psalm 7:11 “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.” and sin (ones “iniquities have separated” them from God Isa 59:2 “But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.” Willful sinners (saved sinners) cry to the Lord and He does not hear Micah 3:4 “Then shall they cry unto the LORD, but he will not hear them: he will even hide his face from them at that time, as they have behaved themselves ill in their doings.”
They were accusing Jesus of having “communion/fellowship with darkness” which would make Him a partaker of that darkness. It’s abundantly clear that saints are NOT to have fellowship with sinners (unbelievers);this is true for Jesus too.
2 Corinthians 6:14-18 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? 15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? 16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 17 Wherefore come out from among them, and BE YE SEPARATE, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”
The same hereticks also stated Jesus was Beelzebub operating under the devils power. Should we believe these statements as being true too? OF COURSE NOT! Jesus is a “friend of sinners” heresy was intended to discredit His righteousness. We clearly see that FRIENDSHIP of the WORLD makes one an ENEMY of GOD. God (Jesus) surely can’t oppose Himself.
“Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.” James 4:4
“Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Romans 8:7
If Jesus is a friend to sinners, and we surely know “all have sinned” as the Bible states, then He logically can’t have any enemies. Jesus being a friend of sinners requires that God is all sinners’ friend.
These religious leaders of the day knew that there was a difference in Jesus’ interactions which excluded them and welcomed others. While Jesus was friendly to others, He was absolutely not to them. Matthew 3:7 “But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?” Jesus was quite clear on whom His enemies were. Surely He was not a “friend of sinners”. John 2:15-16 “And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers’ money, and overthrew the tables; 16 And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father’s house an house of merchandise.”
Why you ask? Because the religious leaders failed to bring forth fruit for repentance. We discussed in detail that it’s the quality of true repentance that makes a sinner able to be received by God. “Godly sorrow worketh repentance unto salvation…” Remember the two thieves on the cross. They were both sinners, but only one received salvation/fellowship with Christ AFTER he truly repented. Surely Jesus knew his heart as he confessed and forsook his sin hanging on that cross next to Jesus.
“But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Matthew 9:13
Repentance is not a one time act (sinners prayer) or being sorrowful for sin at moment in time. True repentance is an acknowledgement of sin and your transgression against God and the abhorrence and forsaking of sinful ways pursuing righteousness. True repentance is seen in an attitude that abhors sin. We see the world as Jesus does when we are truly abiding in Him.
God gives HIS grace to the humble, but opposes the sinner. 1st Peter 5:5 “Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. ” And salvation, through which the repentant are reconciled to God and made His friend, comes by grace. Apart from repentance from sin, we are enemies of God, His wrath abide on us (John 3:36) and we still are in need of reconciliation and salvation from God. “For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life.” Romans 5:10
What’s wrong with portraying God as a friend to sinners? Simply, it’s a lie and we know where liars end up. Revelation 21:8 “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers(A DRUGGIE OR A DRUGGIST/PHARMACIST/DR WHO PRESCRIBES MIND-ALTERING PILLS CALLED PHARMAKEIA IN THE GREEK- NOT SPEAKING ABOUT MEDICAL DR’S IN GENERAL), and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.”
Imagine, a sinner who is also a “friend of God” has absolutely no need to repent (turn from sin) because they believe they are already acceptable to God. It tells man he is already “whole” with no need of a physician. Matthew 9:12 “But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.” The problem is, a sinner is NOT whole; and sadly, they are sitting in the pews around the world thinking they will make heaven. This false teaching blinds man to the need of repentance, which is the only way we are indeed made God’s friend, thereby condemning man’s soul to eternal death.
In reading this, some might say, “But I am a sinner!” Then my only answer for you is that you need to repent as discussed in chapter 6, then read chapter 14.
You are not a friend of God if still in sin (Psalm 5:4-6; II Corinthians 6:14-16; Matthew 7:23-24; John 12:46; I John 1:6, 2:4).
The Good News to sinners is NOT that Jesus is your friend, but that you no longer have to be a slave to sin (Romans 6:1-22, 8:2-13; I John 3:8-10). You can be changed, and through that change you can be made a friend of God. Surely I pray you heed HIS advice and come to HIM on HIS terms, not yours or your “pastors” if it does not line up with the Bible.
CHAPTER 12 – Falling Away from Grace
A great lie the professing “church” spews is Once Saved Always Saved (OSAS) aka Eternal Security aka Perseverance of the Saints. They believe the lie the serpent told Eve in the garden Genesis 3:4 “Ye shall not surely die:” This false teaching alone has sent countless souls to hell and the devil loves it. It is abundantly clear that one can lose salvation by giving the “free gift” back to God! We will prove this with Scripture. I loved this lie from 2006-2012 when I lived as a “saved sinner” thinking I was going to waltz into heaven while still “falling into sin”. No, one chooses to sin! I would have ended up in hellfire and I thank God for His undeniable truth.
Revelation 22:19 “And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.”
You can’t be “taken away” from the “book of life” if you were not already in it. If that is not enough, how about these Biblical truths below. I pray you come to the TRUTH.
According to the Word of God NO ONE (HUMAN BEING) can pluck you out of His hands:
John 10:27-30 “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: 28 And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. 29 My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and my Father are one.”
So, it is clear that another person cannot “MAKE” one fall away from Christ; it does not preclude however someone’s ability to walk away themselves, or their ability to be duped and err causing THEM to again need conversion to the truth. “ANY OF YOU” meaning anyone currently saved can “err from the truth”. If they are not repentant and continue in their apostasy, they are not saved from eternal death. The first word in this verse says “brethren”. James 5:19-20 “Brethren, if ANY OF YOU do err from the truth, and one convert him; 20 Let him know, that he which converteth the sinner from the error of his way shall save a soul from death, and shall hide a multitude of sins.”
The above verse PROVES that “BRETHREN” can “ERR FROM THE TRUTH”, need “CONVERSION” again and are called “sinners” until then. IF and only IF they repent from “the error of their way”, THEN the souls is “saved from death”. Let’s look at some more clear examples.
1st Timothy 1:19 –”Some have REJECTED these things and so have SHIPWRECKED their faith.” [These souls were once true believers, yet they fell not only violently, but finally; for ships once wrecked cannot be saved afterwards. This is an entire destruction of faith… as a ship is totally ruined that strikes on a rock and sinks.]
1st Timothy 6:10,21 –”Some people, eager for money, have WANDERED(ERRED) FROM THE FAITH…” [Απεπλανηθησαν· Have totally erred – have made a most fatal and ruinous departure from the religion of Christ.]
Luke 8:13 –”They BELIEVE FOR A WHILE, but in the time of testing they FALL AWAY.” [See the parable of the sower Mat. 13:1-23]
What does it take for a person to cease from abiding in the vine? What I mean is, just what does it take to “walk away”? What does the Bible say?
What you have done maybe unwittingly is fallen prey to the deadly doctrine of devils, the one point of Calvinism, “perseverance of the saints”, the “P” in TULIP, otherwise known as Once Saved Always Saved. There is so much written about it I find it difficult to narrow down the amount of Scriptures I could give for it. So I will give some O.T., some from Jesus, some from John, some from James, some from Paul, some from Luke, some from Jude.
I could also cite the early church (before 325 a.d.) as to what they taught and believed, because they NEVER once taught OSAS, rather, they openly and plainly preached against it.
What did it take for Adam and Eve to cease from abiding in the vine? The simple answer is; believing a lie which resulted in committing sin. They believed like many do today and in the days of Noah that they would not die because they were secure in Him no matter what they did. They relied on the past to secure their future- God warned otherwise saying “Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat” Genesis 2:16. “But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.” Genesis 2:17
Ezekiel 3:20 “Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity (SIN), and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand.”
Ezekiel 3:21 “Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul.”
2 Chronicles 15:2 “And he went out to meet Asa, and said unto him, Hear ye me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin; The LORD is with you, while ye be with him; and IF YE SEEK HIM, he will be found of you; but IF YE FORSAKE HIM, HE WILL FORSAKE YOU.”
Luke 8:13 “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.
THE PRODIGAL SON ALSO CLEARLY FELL AWAY AND WAS RENEWED BACK INTO RIGHT STANDING AFTER TRUE REPENTANCE.
Luke 15:18 “I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I HAVE SINNED AGAINST HEAVEN, and before thee,”
The son seemed to know he ceased abiding in the vine!
The Scripture clearly shows he was dead and was made alive again. This is a picture of Christians who “cease to abide” and are found again in this life and renewed unto repentance.
Luke 15:24 “For this MY SON WAS DEAD, and is ALIVE AGAIN; he was LOST, and is FOUND. And they began to be merry.”
Luke 15:32 “It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this THY BROTHER WAS DEAD, and is ALIVE AGAIN; and WAS LOST, and is found.”
The son ceased to abide when he believed he could live his own life apart from his father, in other words, when he believed he didn’t have to abide.
John 15:5 “I am the vine, ye are the branches: HE THAT ABIDETH IN ME, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.”
John 15:6 “If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered (spiritual decline in this life); and men gather them (gathering to salvation or perdition takes place at physical death), and cast them into the fire, and they are burned (the second death, spiritual death in Hell and the Lake of fire).”
YE ARE THE…BRANCHES” Not your works, not your future rewards, YE are! “If a man” who is portrayed by the “branches” does not abide, what happens to him? HE is cast forth AS a branch. Since the Bible does not classify plants as living or “having life” like many of us do, it does not refer to a plant as dying, rather it uses the words “fade, fade away, or withered” which gives a clear picture to the withering of the fruit on the vine and then the destruction of the branch due to the rottenness of its fruit. In James 2:26 “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” and Matthew 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” and Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment.” Men gather them (BRANCHES) and they are (what are “they”? the BRANCHES) burned!
This, contrary to OSAS deceiving teachers, is not speaking of the world. This was spoken to the Disciples, 11 of them after Judas left to betray Him at the last supper. He is warning those disciples to not only remain in Him, but also to teach this to the believing church. He also is not referring here to what Judas did “as an unbeliever” for you cannot have it both ways- either Judas at one time believed and fell away as prophesied or he never knew Jesus and Jesus “never knew him”. He was known by Jesus and did miracles in Jesus’ name, cast out devils, preached the gospel, and was so outwardly righteous that the disciples suspected themselves as being the betrayer before they thought of Judas.
Examples (warnings) in the Bible of individuals who were once saved, but later fell away and lost their salvation:
Ananias and Sapphira were saved and of one heart and one soul with all the church (please read Acts 4:32-5:1), until they agreed to lie to the Holy Ghost at which time they were killed (read Acts 5:1-11). “Great grace was upon them all….”, including Ananias and Sapphira (Acts 4:33). “Ezekiel 18:24-26 “But when the righteous turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and doeth according to all the abominations that the wicked man doeth, shall he live? All his righteousness that he hath done shall not be mentioned: in his trespass that he hath trespassed, and in his sin that he hath sinned, in them shall he die. 25 Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. Hear now, O house of Israel; Is not my way equal? are not your ways unequal? 26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.”
Many disciples “followed Jesus no more”. John 6:66 from that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.”. They for a while believed but in times of temptation “fell away”. Luke 8:13 “They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away.” They drew back to perdition (Heb 10:26-39). To receive Christ and confess Him brings the new birth, so those who believed for a while had grace to fall from. John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name” and 1st John 5:1 “Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.”
Lucifer was sinless and walked in the ways of God perfectly until he sinned (Ezekiel 28:11-17 “Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying, 12 Son of man, take up a lamentation upon the king of Tyrus, and say unto him, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Thou sealest up the sum, full of wisdom, and perfect in beauty. 13 Thou hast been in Eden the garden of God; every precious stone was thy covering, the sardius, topaz, and the diamond, the beryl, the onyx, and the jasper, the sapphire, the emerald, and the carbuncle, and gold: the workmanship of thy tabrets and of thy pipes was prepared in thee in the day that thou wast created. 14 Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. 15 Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee. 16 By the multitude of thy merchandise they have filled the midst of thee with violence, and thou hast sinned: therefore I will cast thee as profane out of the mountain of God: and I will destroy thee, O covering cherub, from the midst of the stones of fire. 17 Thine heart was lifted up because of thy beauty, thou hast corrupted thy wisdom by reason of thy brightness: I will cast thee to the ground, I will lay thee before kings, that they may behold thee.”). He fell from God’s favor and was cast out of heaven (Isaiah 14:12-14 “How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations! 13 For thou hast said in thine heart, I will ascend into heaven, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will sit also upon the mount of the congregation, in the sides of the north: 14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the most High.”). He became sinful and lustful (John 8:44 “Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.”) and destined for eternal hell on account of what he became through his own choices (read Rev 20:1-1). Matthew 25:41 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Over one third of God’s Holy Angels rebelled with Lucifer (Revelation 12:3 “And there appeared another wonder in heaven; and behold a great red dragon, having seven heads and ten horns, and seven crowns upon his heads.”, Revelation 12:7-12 “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. 9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him. 10 And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. 11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. 12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.”) and became destined to hell with Satan (See Matt 25:41, Isa 24:21, 2 Pet 2:4, Jude 1:6-7 “And the angels which kept not their first estate, but left their own habitation, he hath reserved in everlasting chains under darkness unto the judgment of the great day. 7 Even as Sodom and Gomorrha, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire.”).
Adam and Eve were created in God’s favor or grace (Genesis 1:26-31 “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. 28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth. 29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat. 30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so. 31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.”). They fell from grace by sin and lost eternal life that they would have kept if they would not have sinned (Gen 2:17, 3:1-19, Rom 5:12-21, 2nd Corinthians 11:3 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.”). Nothing is ever said of their salvation from sin. They are not listed with the faithful of the O.T. in Hebrews 11. He was a Son of God (Luke 3:38 “Which was the son of Enos, which was the son of Seth, which was the son of Adam, which was the son of God.”), thus, sonship is proven not to be a guarantee of eternal life. God promises to punish every angel or man who sins regardless of sonship or relationship.
Many Israelites had the same gospel we have 1Co 10:1-13 “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness. 6 Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted. 7 Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play. 8 Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand. 9 Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents. 10 Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer. 11 Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come. 12 Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall. 13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it. (Gal 3:6-14, Hebrews 4:2 “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.”), yet when they sinned the were cut off from God and were lost (Ex 32:32-33, Heb 4:1-7, Jude 1:5 “I will therefore put you in remembrance, though ye once knew this, how that the Lord, having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not.”
Saul had a change of heart and received the Holy Spirit (1st Samuel 10:9-13 “And it was so, that when he had turned his back to go from Samuel, God gave him another heart: and all those signs came to pass that day. 10 And when they came thither to the hill, behold, a company of prophets met him; and the Spirit of God came upon him, and he prophesied among them. 11 And it came to pass, when all that knew him beforetime saw that, behold, he prophesied among the prophets, then the people said one to another, What is this that is come unto the son of Kish? Is Saul also among the prophets? 12 And one of the same place answered and said, But who is their father? Therefore it became a proverb, Is Saul also among the prophets? 13 And when he had made an end of prophesying, he came to the high place.” & 1st Samuel 10:21-24 “When he had caused the tribe of Benjamin to come near by their families, the family of Matri was taken, and Saul the son of Kish was taken: and when they sought him, he could not be found. 22 Therefore they enquired of the LORD further, if the man should yet come thither. And the LORD answered, Behold, he hath hid himself among the stuff. 23 And they ran and fetched him thence: and when he stood among the people, he was higher than any of the people from his shoulders and upward. 24 And Samuel said to all the people, See ye him whom the LORD hath chosen, that there is none like him among all the people? And all the people shouted, and said, God save the king.”), went into spiritualism (1 Sam 28, Lev 19:31, 20:6). He lost the Holy Spirit (1 Sam 16:12-23) and died a suicide cursed of God (1st Samuel 31:1-6 Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain in mount Gilboa. 2 And the Philistines followed hard upon Saul and upon his sons; and the Philistines slew Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, Saul’s sons. 3 And the battle went sore against Saul, and the archers hit him; and he was sore wounded of the archers. 4 Then said Saul unto his armourbearer, Draw thy sword, and thrust me through therewith; lest these uncircumcised come and thrust me through, and abuse me. But his armourbearer would not; for he was sore afraid. Therefore Saul took a sword, and fell upon it. 5 And when his armourbearer saw that Saul was dead, he fell likewise upon his sword, and died with him. 6 So Saul died, and his three sons, and his armourbearer, and all his men, that same day together.”). Saul did not “keep His commandments” and committed many vile sins before his death 1Ch 10:13-14 “So Saul died for his transgression which he committed against the LORD, even against the word of the LORD, which he kept not, and also for asking counsel of one that had a familiar spirit, to enquire of it; 14 And enquired not of the LORD: therefore he slew him, and turned the kingdom unto David the son of Jesse.”
Judas was once saved because was the “familiar friend of Jesus”. Psalm 41:9 Yea, mine own familiar friend, in whom I trusted, which did eat of my bread, hath lifted up his heel against me.” The Hebrew word for friend is “batah”– to confide in as to be secure without fear and is used in this context 107 times. Would Jesus call any unsaved man or devil, “Mine own familiar friend”? He was called to preach as all 12 Apostles were sent out. Matthew 10:7 “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand.”. He had part of the apostolic ministry and was an Apostle. Acts 1:16-20 Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus. 17 For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry. 18 Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out. 19 And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood. 20 For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.”
Judas was sent forth as one of the twelve to represent Jesus among Israel. Matthew 10:5-6 “These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” He had the Holy Spirit in him. Matthew 10:19-20 “But when they deliver you up, take no thought how or what ye shall speak: for it shall be given you in that same hour what ye shall speak. 20 For it is not ye that speak, but the Spirit of your Father which speaketh in you.” Judas fell by sin from the ministry and apostleship. Acts 1:25 “That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression (SIN) fell, that he might go to his own place.”
How could Judas do this if he was always a devil or unsaved man? IMPOSSIBLE! Satan entered into Judas at the close of Jesus’ ministry, proving that he was not always an agent of the devil, much less the devil himself. Luke 22:3 “Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.” and John 13:2 “And supper being ended, the devil having now put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, to betray him.” He therefore, backslid, and then became a thief. John 12:6 “This he said, not that he cared for the poor; but because he was a thief, and had the bag, and bare what was put therein.” a devil and a betrayer. John 6:70 “Jesus answered them, Have not I chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?.” Surely Judas was acting devilish by this time which Jesus picked up on.
To make Judas the devil, a devil from the beginning and an unsaved man separate from grace is to ignore the plain facts of Scripture. He had eternal life at one time, as proved from John 17:2 where we read of Jesus giving eternal life “to as many as thou hast given me”; then in John 17:12 it is stated that of “Those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them (That thou gavest me and to whom I have given eternal life Jn 17:2) is lost, but the son of perdition”. What could be more clear than this? That Judas was given eternal life, was given to Jesus and Jesus had once given him salvation!
Many In the Churches were once saved but later threatened with destruction if they did not repent (Revelation 2:5 “Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.”, Revelation 2:16 “Repent; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will fight against them with the sword of my mouth.” The LORD calls for repentance from sin over and over again. Revelation 3:3-6“Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee. 4 Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy. 5 He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels. 6 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.”
You have suffer and overcome to inherit eternal life Revelation 2:10-11 “Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life. 11 He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” If you don’t overcome, you will end up in the lake of fire for eternity Revelation 21:7-8 “He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son. 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. “
Hymenaeus & Alexander…1st Timothy 1:18-20 “This charge I commit unto thee, son Timothy, according to the prophecies which went before on thee, that thou by them mightest war a good warfare; 19 Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having PUT AWAY concerning FAITH have made SHIPWRECK: 20 Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; WHOM I HAVE DELIVERED UNTO SATAN, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”
Hymenaeus & Philetus… 2 Timothy 2:16-18 “But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness. 17 And their word will eat as doth a canker: of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; 18 Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.”
Demas… 2 Timothy 4:10 “For DEMAS HATH FORSAKEN ME, having loved this present world, and is departed unto Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, Titus unto Dalmatia.” Demas is honorably mentioned in Colossians 4:14 “Luke, the beloved physician, and DEMAS, greet you.” Also, Demas was once called by Paul “my fellowlabourer” as clearly stated in Phm 1:24 “Marcus, Aristarchus, DEMAS, Lucas, my fellowlabourers.” Hath forsaken me above in 2 Timothy 4:10!
One must “hold fast” Revelation 3:11 “ Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.” and we know the LUKEWARM perish Revelation 3:16 “So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth. “ Besides the above examples of being cut off from God’s grace because of sin, the Bible abounds with plan laws, commandments (over 1,000 in the N.T. alone) and warnings of punishment for those who return to sin. These make it clear that there are no unconditional promises and covenants in Scripture. Passages where no condition is expressed are automatically limited by hundreds of kindred verses stating conditions to be met.
How can anybody deny the FALLING AWAY as if it isn’t mentioned in the Bible? It’s spelled out in black and red! It’s in FULL SWING NOW and those who deny it may have already become a part of it. A FALLING AWAY WILL HAPPEN FIRST before Jesus returns.
Matthew 24:10-13 “And then shall many BE OFFENDED (fall away), and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall DECEIVE MANY. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold. 13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. ”
God does not agree with “OSAS”.
CHAPTER 13 – Are You a Disciple?
I like to paint a picture of judgment day with God asking something like this. “James, you have a checkbook of money and a checkbook of time. Let’s take a look at how you honored me versus everything else. So many will be cast into hell on judgment day because they spent more of the time and money God gave them on themselves and friends; entertaining, buying non-necessities, expensive vacations, sending children to college which teaches humanistic, God hating curriculum for tens of thousands of dollars, etc instead of serving a holy God. The question is, how do your “checkbooks” look in the eyes of God? Do you have pure and “undefiled religion” (James 1:27)?
I want to challenge you to make sure you are truly walking with Jesus as HE wants you to; as a true disciple making disciples. Do you shuffle your children off to a wicked public school that teaches godless filth like humanism, evolution, the LGBT agenda and so much more that God hates. How about a private “Christian” school that teaches false, man-made doctrine. One can’t tell the difference between a Christian” or public school. You must sacrifice whatever you need to in order to homeschool your precious child.
What did Jesus do in His three years of ministry on earth? Go to “Christian” amusement parks or museums? Have all kind of “conferences” that take ungodly amounts of money from the “least of these?, etc. No, his days and nights were loving others by calling them to repentance and serving them.
1Jn 2:6 “He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he(JESUS) walked.”
We know Jesus was brutally hated and killed by His “own people”, the Jews. The prophets were hated by their own people John 4:44 “For Jesus himself testified, that a prophet hath no honour in his own country.” and all but one of the Apostles were slaughtered (martyred) by preaching the “Good News” (they tried to murder John by boiling him in oil). Becoming a disciple of Jesus Christ will cost you everything. You will lose most all of your friends and family members (all the unsaved ones; and the professing fakes will hate you the most), you may lose your job, go to prison, get physically hurt and maybe even martyred. You might get spat upon, will be unpopular, seen as evil/hateful, excommunicated from the “Main St. Church”, your children will turn against you as well as your parents and much, much more.
There are people on both sides of this ditch like so many other issues in Christendom. The first group is concerned with building “churches” aka fancy buildings and “membership”. They have 50, 100 or even 5,000 “members” and they feel connected in a special way and they call that “unity”.
The truth is, if the Word of God is faithfully preached in a fellowship and there are ten people who actually have a heart for that faithful preaching, then considering the current climate in America and most all other countries, that would actually be a large fellowship. Nearly every church’s numbers are puffed up by other means. I recently considered how these verses describe the right way of counting the membership of a fellowship versus man’s methods.
“And the Lord spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying, 2 Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls; 3 From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.” (Numbers 1:1-3)
How many are even in a position to even put on the whole armor of God and fight in it as the Scripture instructs in Ephesians 6? Within a fellowship the answer to that question IS the true size of the fellowship.
I really believe that in America now that would indeed make a fellowship of ten a large fellowship; and would make a fellowship of 20 or more practically a mega-church. There simply are not enough saved souls in a town to have multiple large churches. Americans have just generally so terribly underestimated the gravity of what it means to be a Christian in their lukewarm state and the stakes of the War for Truth that they don’t consider that if there were really a group that was a Biblical church which also meant their standards of what a mega-church is, the conviction they’d receive from such a testimony would be unbearable for them.
The level of community and connection when you support one another in a true, godly, apostolic fellowship is almost never seen. In a large “150 member” congregation, they feel a unity around a charismatic leader, identify with a huge choir (and/or CCM) and such things. But in all honesty, they don’t know each other, have not truly repented (confessed and forsook sins so they are not even Christians) or even KNOW of the true issues a person may have. They love identifying with a location, a leader, and a large group. But the interesting thing about all of this is that while God loves and desires unity, it is an ancillary (extra) benefit from loving & OBEYING Jesus and serving each other; not a goal in itself.
The great commission is NOT to gather and be happy (live your “best life now). It’s to “forsake all” (Luke 14:33 “So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”), to GO to the lost and MAKE DISCIPLES. The fellowship should TRULY know each other and stand together. A church building and congregation in the traditional model reverses the Great Commission to COME instead of to GO and make disciples. Jesus commanded the Saints to GO (evangelize) to the lost. The most godly method of church meeting is house churches in my opinion as it keeps the cost down to a minimum and the venue is more intimate. We must implement the “Luke 10” evangelism Jesus trained His people to use. They WENT OUT of the “4 walls” (the building), they did not call people to COME. Even Jesus moved around all the time. The Church was a vital and living thing that covered the entire known world in 200 years and DID NOT BUILD EVEN ONE BUILDING. Now we spend all of our resources building and furnishing something Jesus never commanded us to build, finance or attend. Of course we are not to forsake fellowship, and local weekly meetings on the Lord’s day are a must. But, when one is in a true fellowship, it’s a “7 day per week” fellowship, not an hour or two in a Sunday.
I have witnessed this all over the world and I will be honest, we should not try to change the traditional church. It is an institution and institutions resist change. Most everyone has fully embraced the “building is the church” Western model of Christianity down to the fancy buildings, “contemporary christian music”, coffee shops/cafes and all the dressing up for a “church”. They love this model and it is perfect for having the “super star” successful leader so many love. So many love to adore a leader and identify with them and the Western model of the church is the perfect platform for a location centric, leader focused, professional/elite oriented and centered institution. Surely there are leaders and order for the church, but not the “lords” most all “churches” have today.
The leaders (pastor/bishop/elder) have a much stricter judgment so it’s imperative they are chosen carefully. “99%+” in these positions today should not oversee a bubble gum vending route, nevermind “shepherding a flock”! Nothing against vending, just against the sugar these wolves use to deceive the masses!
Hebrews 13:7-17 “Remember them WHICH HAVE THE RULE OVER YOU, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. 9 BE NOT CARRIED ABOUT with divers and STRANGE DOCTRINES For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. 10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. 17 OBEY THEM THAT HAVE RULE OVER YOU, AND SUBMIT YOURSELVES: for THEY (PASTORS/ELDERS) WATCH FOR YOUR SOULS, as THEY that MUST GIVE ACCOUNT, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.”
Once you find a good fellowship, here are the commands. Now, if there is not one close to you, you must move to one as soon as you can.
Hebrews 10:23-27 “Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;) 24 And let us consider one another to PROVOKE UNTO LOVE AND TO GOOD WORKS: 25 NOT FORSAKING THE ASSEMBLING OF OURSELVES TOGETHER, as the manner of some is; but EXHORTING ONE ANOTHER: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins, 27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.”
The early church was fundamental. It sought for lost souls throughout the world and trained the Saints for the work of the ministry. The fellowship of believers (church meetings) are to sharpen the brethren’s swords in preparation to GO make disciples and live a holy life pleasing to God; not for the church have a Sunday circus It is to be trained to do evangelism and ministry for the Lord.
You can not make disciples if you are not one yourself and if you are not a disciple yourself you will not make it to heaven.
The Cost of Discipleship – The wolves in the “Main St. Church” will not preach this as they would be out of a job.
Luke 14:25-33 “And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto them, 26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. 27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. 28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it? 29 Lest haply, after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that behold it begin to mock him, 30 Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish. 31 Or what king, going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand? 32 Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage, and desireth conditions of peace.33 So likewise, whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.”
Jesus was a disciple maker and He commands His disciples to go make more disciples. This is the Great Commission spoken of in the bible. It is His method of proselytizing to expand the Kingdom of God. Listen to HIS clear command here “whosoever he be of you that forsaketh not all that he hath…”. FORSAKE.
FORSA’KE, v.t. pret. forsook; pp. forsaken. See Seek.
1. To quit or leave entirely; to desert; to abandon; to depart from. “Friends” and flatterers forsake us in adversity.
“Forsake the foolish, and live.” Prov 9.
2. To abandon; to renounce; to reject.
“Cease from anger, and forsake wrath.” Psa 37.
3. To leave; to withdraw from; to fail. In anger, the color forsakes the cheeks. In severe trials, let not fortitude forsake you.
4. In Scripture, God forsakes His people, when he withdraws His aid, or the light of His countenance.
We never hear this in the modern “church” We blasphemously hear “live your best life now”, “worship God and receive earthly blessings” (house, car, expensive vacations, too many shoes and clothes, motorcycle, etc). The eternal question is; Have you truly renounced your claim to ALL worldly things, including your own life and chosen the one and only God, Jesus, and Him alone?
A Christian is a disciple who makes disciples for the glory of God! That is the GREAT COMMISSION spoken of in the Bible. Are You Fulfilling The Great Commission?
Matthew 28:16-20 “Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, into a mountain where Jesus had appointed them. 17 And when they saw him, they worshipped him: but some doubted. 18 And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. 19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: 20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
You cannot make disciples if you are not a disciple of Christ yourself and be sure you will end up in hell if you are not. Many “believers” read of giving up everything for Jesus but they have one foot in the world which makes them lukewarm, at best. It’s a 100% commitment or nothing at all. There is not coming to Jesus on your own terms. Jesus meant what He said, from Genesis 1:1 through Revelation 22:21. You must understand that you need to “renounce” “EVERYTHING”. Jesus wants your total allegiance. You have to completely forsake (mainstream) Christianity which does “church” once or twice a week and that’s all. You need to follow Jesus and obey all His commandments to become a disciple and make disciples yourself instead. This is God’s Master Plan.
The other side of this ditch we see all the time where people forsake fellowship completely. This is also deadly. If you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you need fellowship with other believers for many reasons, some mentioned above.
Most of professing “ Main St. Christianity” are not disciples and will not make it to Heaven. They are “just” believers. Some are “pastors”, Bible “teachers”, firemen, fathers, mothers and others that think that going to “church” and belonging to a small group or two is being a disciple of Christ. They think the people they invited to church who are attending on a regular basis are disciples. But neither them, nor most everyone in professing “Christianity”, have ever been given the biblical call to become a true disciple and surely have not paid the price of discipleship. One foot in the world, one foot in the Kingdom does not cut it. A true mature Christian (one that has learned the doctrine, studied, been discipled by an elder in the faith, etc) has DISCIPLES. If you don’t, you need to repent and start to obey the Almighty God, the Master disciple maker. I pray this book has opened up your eyes if you are not walking as He walked.
In Luke 14, for example, we see how Jesus defines a disciple and we see the actual call to discipleship. Jesus does not ask people “get saved” or “believe in the work He did on The Cross” or “receive His finished work to be saved”. He does not even promise them heaven unless they truly repent and endure ‘til the end. Jesus asks them to give up “EVERYTHING” and come and follow Him. Does this sound like you? Have you given up “everything” to follow Christ?
Most everyone is taught one of two ways. All that are “saved” are disciples, or slowly but surely one becomes a disciple as they grow closer to Jesus through study and prayer. This is the lie of “progressive sanctification”. When one progresses to be a disciple and after a period of time, “walk as He walked”. Why don’t we look at what Jesus did? It’s commanded we walk like HIM (1st John 2:6), not at some time in the future, but in the present. Not when one “graduates” into some “super spiritual” state, but now. We need to look at what Jesus commanded and not the wolves in the pulpit who lead so many astray..
Question: Why do we call Him LORD and do not do what He commands or follow His methods?
Luke 6:46 “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?”
His first words after repent ye for the Kingdom of God is at hand, are these: Follow Me.
Matthew 4:17 “From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”
Jesus Calls the First Disciples
Matthew 4:18 “And Jesus, walking by the sea of Galilee, saw two brethren, Simon called Peter, and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea: for they were fishers. 19 And he saith unto them, Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”
The false church calls “converts” to a nice easy and “best life now” with a promise of eternity for all, who at one point in their life said a “sinners prayer”. They never speak of keeping the moral law which Jesus commands and you can’t tell them from the world because they are part of it. This is called the “Emergent Church Movement” or as I call it, the “Main St. Church”. Contrast that to Jesus’ call to give up and renounce everything. For three hundred years the church suffered in torture refusing to renounce their Lord and paid the ultimate price. They were known for “walking as HE walked; feeding the poor, going into “all the world” making disciples, caring for the “least of these” their brethren and living holy lives. This is the fruit of a people called to discipleship.
And of course most “Christians” never “dropped their nets” and went “fishing” for precious souls. Peter and Andrew dropped their nets to follow Jesus. Matthew never looked back at the tax collector’s table when called.. Zacchaeus seemed to remain in his profession but reordered his life and priorities to the Kingdom of God. The professing “Church” prioritizes their lives around their careers or other interests that they need to literally start over again to follow Jesus as He commands. As a heathen business owner for most of my adult life, I spent 70+ hours a week working. I spent the vast majority of my time focusing on my business to make $ for myself and my “friends” and to live my “best life now”, aka the “American Dream.” My spare time was mostly spent entertaining my flesh and others or trying to replace purpose with “fun”. Now that I am in Christ and obeying HIM, He has put in my heart to work day and night for HIM. I am accountable to follow Him, not my self-made plans. His ways, not mine.
Isaiah 55:6-7 “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: 7 Let the wicked (SINNER) forsake his way, and the unrighteous man (SINNER) his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. 8 For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. 9 For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
When I truly gave my life to Christ I gave up the “American Dream”. I rearranged my business plans BIG TIME and I will tell you, there is absolutely no joy, not even close, like serving the King of Kings & Lord of Lords. Don’t get me wrong, if we don’t work we shall not eat. 2nd Thessalonians 3:10 “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.” However, there is nothing this world can offer like obeying His will and commands so one’s focus is no longer on that big promotion or working for “self” but working hard for the Kingdom and others. I truly have no greater joy than using the profits from my business to support the indigenous missionaries on the mission field as they make disciples and take care of the orphan, widow and the “least of these” brethren. You can have “PERFECT PEACE” if you truly become and make disciples.
If you are not a disciple making disciple, you need to read the next chapter and start at the beginning. For the love of your soul, I pray you do. The conclusion of this matter?
Ecclesiastes 12:13-14 “Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: FEAR GOD, AND KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS: for THIS IS THE WHOLE DUTY OF MAN. 14 For God shall bring every work into judgment, with EVERY SECRET THING, whether it be good (RIGHTEOUSNESS UNTO ETERNAL LIFE), or whether it be evil (SIN UNTO DEATH).”
CHAPTER 14 – The Way to The Cross
I truly enjoyed writing this book and pray it edified you. I can always be reached for questions and look forward speaking to those seeking Christ Jesus. With love for your eternal soul, I conclude with a gospel call. A bit more involved than the “sinners prayer”. Read carefully, you may go to final judgement today.
Jesus said, in Matthew 7:13-14, that there are only two roads to choose, the NARROW ROAD, AND THE WIDE ROAD!
Matthew 7:13-17 “Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: 14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. 15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. 16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles? 17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.”
But Jesus said many will choose the road that leads to SPIRITUAL DEATH! Which road are you on? There are some things one must do to be sure they are on the narrow road, and apart from these there is NO salvation but death! (1 John 5:12 “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.”)
The truth is simple; REPENT and FORSAKE ALL YOUR SINS! And then get baptized. Through your free will and ability God has given to you, in Repentance you die with Christ (to sin) and thus crucify “your” flesh; (Gal 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”) and your heart is made PURE by faith working by love! (1 Peter 1:22-23 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.”)
Evidence of a saving faith (Galatians 5:6 “For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.”)
Now you OBEY GOD cleansed, purged and scrubbed clean of all your overflow of wickedness and defilement (Galatians 5:24-25 “And they that are Christ’s have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.”) able to receive with meekness the implanted Word that can SAVE YOUR SOUL (Romans 6:4-6 “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.”) and (James 1:21-23 “Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls. 22 But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. 23 For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass”)
Come sorrowing after the Mercy of God, CLEARED of wrong doings by FORSAKING THEM ALL (past sins, never future sins, Romans 3:25 “Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God”) and making restitution where necessary. Vehemently desiring in your heart to OBEY HIM with great zeal and passion, presuming nothing and plead for reconciliation. (2 Cor 5:11-21 “Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences. 12 For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart. 13 For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause. 14 For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead: 15 And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again. 16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. 17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. 18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation; 19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. 20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God. 21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”)
This is the Model of Redemption set forth in the Bible! (2 Cor 7:10-11 “For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death. 11 For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.”)
Thus the TRUE MEANING OF BIBLE REDEMPTION: “Release from bondage by payment of ransom.”
Matthew 20:28 “Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”
1st Timothy 2:5-6 “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 6 Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.”
What Jesus did on the Cross was NOT take anyone’s place, BUT Provide Himself as A SIN OFFERING (Hebrews 9:14 “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit OFFERED HIMSELF without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” to Ransom Man and turn him from Darkness to Light, from the Power of Satan to God! (Acts 26:18 “To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”)
Hence the ‘Works’ of the Devil are DESTROYED and Man can be Restored to an upright heart. (1 John 3:7-8 “Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous. He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.”)
Now the Bible makes sense! DEEDS (WORKS/FRUIT/OBEYING HIS COMMANDMENTS) will be the deciding factor in your final Salvation, not some mystical Trust in an illusion. (Rom 2:7-11, 1 Pet 1:17)
Romans 2:7-11 “To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life: 8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath, 9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile; 10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile: 11 For there is no respect of persons with God.”
1st Peter 1:17 “And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear.”
Professed Christians today are believing ‘everything’ but the Truth simply because most of them have NEVER been exposed to the truth; and it’s very possible they are doing all they can to hide from it anyways. It’s an unfortunate reality however that their belief systems have a very strong tendency to silence their conscience to the CONVICTING POWER of the Holy Spirit. Thus, when they do hear the Truth, it cannot cut them to the heart (Acts 2:37 “Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?”) so that they would be MOTIVATED TO REPENT. When a person is convinced that some form of Doctrine is Correct, it is almost impossible to persuade them otherwise. (2 Thess 2:11-12 “And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: 12 That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.”)
To them the Bible Supports their fallacies and absolves them from Obedience. Given that the Substitution Model provides the PERFECT excuse for Sin, there is NOT much of a chance many will escape its clutches and see the Light before their time is up. If You Believe in God and Trust that Jesus is your Savior you NEED to get this Right! The Foundation on which you stand should be deeply rooted in the Truth. Don’t rely on someone else to dig for you. (Luke 6:46-49 “And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say? 47 Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like: 48 He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. 49 But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built an house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.”)
CHOOSE THE RIGHT ROAD! AND REMEMBER SIN IS A CHOICE, NOT A DISEASE WE INHERITED, OR WERE BORN INTO! Repent first. Isaiah 55:7 “Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.”
Acts 3:19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.”
Seek HIS mercy, and get BORN AGAIN! You must die once to sin to be born again! (John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”)
The Holy Spirit, can now indwell you, to produce good fruit, and guide you into all righteousness and TRUTH! Ephesians 5:18 “And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit.”
Now, FEAR GOD, hope in His great mercy, forsake all the dead things of this world and serve Him to the bitter end. After you truly repent, get baptized by pouring to be ceremonially cleansed. A full study with a video of baptisms can be found here baptism.globalmissionforchildren.org. Baptism for the unrepentant (those who don’t confess AND forsake sin) is meaningless and simply makes one a wet sinner. Yet you cannot claim to be a repentant, obedient disciple of Christ and neglect His command to be baptized as such (see Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, etc). This is a key aspect of beginning to follow through on true repentance; yet if one still regards sin and is not following through on every aspect wherein they must be obedient to God’s Word, then baptism in and of itself has no value. Don’t believe the “hyper grace” false teachers that tell you all you have to do is pray a “sinner’s prayer” to be “saved”. You must pick up your own cross, as God’s love is conditional, and endure ’til the end for final salvation, lest you fall away and perish.
Are you ready? Matthew 10:22 “And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”
To Jesus be all the glory. AMEN
