Build That WALL?!? What does the BIBLE say about “WALLS”?

“Wall” in the Bible: 163 verses found, 179 matches

“Walls” in the Bible: 63 verses found, 66 matches

That totals 226 verses and 245 words with “Wall/Walls” in the Holy Bible. A great deal of these are speaking of walls similar to a “border wall.” Almost every city in the Bible had WALLS and GATES and BARS, etc.

Deuteronomy 3:5 “All these cities were fenced with high walls, gates, and bars; beside unwalled towns a great many.”

How high you may ask? 20 feet? 30 feet? 100 feet? Think again! God knew walls worked and commanded them. The wall surrounding Babylon was 387′ high and 87′ thick! Any fool would know that walls work to PROTECT and are absolutely needed to keep the peace, etc. The Hebrew word “chowmah” is most often used for “wall” in the Old Testament, and Strong’s defines it as “a wall of protection.” This was the primary use for walls; for protection from those who lived outside the city and protection from wild animals. They kept unauthorized people from entering the city, and also protected the people of the city from attack. God set up governments to protect (keep the peace). Read Romans 13.

Imagine a world without walls (borders). It’s stupid and reckless to even think about it! God commands walls throughout HIS word which is left as our rule book that we MUST FOLLOW! Only a godless, brainless, immoral fool would think a wall does not work or is not needed between countries, around prisons, etc. The hypocritical, damned, accursed catholic pope who is a (Galationa1:8-9) minister of satan has a HUGE WALL around his property. Filthy devil! Most all of the godless politicians and hollywood filth of today live in “gated” (walled/protected) communities yet they spew their foolish filth out of their wretched selves! God will cast you all in the eternal lake of Fire, be sure of it, as you cry “tolerance” and “acceptance” 100% in objection to God’s moral laws!

The bible could not be more clear on this subject. Let’s look at what Nehemiah received:

Nehemiah 1:3 “And they said unto me, The remnant that are left of the captivity there in the province are in great affliction and reproach: the wall of Jerusalem also is broken down, and the gates thereof are burned with fire.”

Nehemiah fasted and prayed to God after hearing this news. Shortly afterwards, Nehemiah made a request to the king to return to to Jerusalem and rebuild what had been destroyed, and the king granted his request. After Nehemiah arrived and surveyed the damage by night, the bible records him saying to the people:

Nehemiah 2:17-18 “Then said I unto them, Ye see the distress that we are in, how Jerusalem lieth waste, and the gates thereof are burned with fire: come, and let us build up the wall of Jerusalem, that we be no more a reproach. 18 Then I told them of the hand of my God which was good upon me; as also the king’s words that he had spoken unto me. And they said, Let us rise up and build. So they strengthened their hands for this good work.”

God is behind this work to rebuild the wall as Nehemiah clearly believed: Nehemiah 2:2 “The God of heaven, he will prosper us; therefore we his servants will arise and build…” Chapters 3-6 record the building of the wall, concluding with Nehemiah 6:15-16 saying, “So the wall was finished in the twenty and fifth day of the month Elul, in fifty and two days. 16 And it came to pass, that when all our enemies heard thereof, and all the heathen that were about us saw these things, they were much cast down in their own eyes: for they perceived that this work was wrought of our God.”

God commanded this wall to be built around Jerusalem, it could not be more clear. Only a godless heathen does not see this. Just like today, back in Nehemiah’s day, you will see that they faced opposition from many people who did not want a wall to be built, or in this case, rebuilt. In particular, two men named Sanballat and Tobiah were leading the charge to stop it. Sanballat was a God mocker:

Nehemiah 4:1 “But it came to pass, that when Sanballat heard that we builded the wall, he was wroth, and took great indignation, and mocked the Jews (Believers).”

Nehemiah 2:10 “When Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, heard of it (THE WALL), it grieved them exceedingly that there was come a man to seek the welfare of the children of Israel.”

Nehemiah 2:19 “But when Sanballat the Horonite, and Tobiah the servant, the Ammonite, and Geshem the Arabian, heard it (THE WALL), they laughed us to scorn, and despised us, and said, What is this thing that ye do? will ye rebel against the king?”

Nehemiah 4:3 “Now Tobiah the Ammonite was by him, and he said, Even that which they build (THE WALL), if a fox go up, he shall even break down their stone wall.”

Nehemiah 4:7 “But it came to pass, that when Sanballat, and Tobiah, and the Arabians, and the Ammonites, and the Ashdodites, heard that the walls of Jerusalem were made up, and that the breaches began to be stopped, then they were very wroth.”

REBELLION IS THE SIN OF WITCHCRAFT!

1st Samuel 15:23 “For rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft, and stubbornness is as iniquity and idolatry. Because thou hast rejected the word of the LORD, he hath also rejected thee from being king.”

This example in Nehemiah is surely not the only example of a God ordained wall building in the Bible. Righteous Kings (at the time anyway) Solomon (1 Kin 3:1)(1 Kin 9:15) and Asa (2 Chr 14:7) also built walls to surround cities. God instructed that His Tabernacle be surrounded by a 7 1/2 foot high white linen fence (wall, barrier) (see Ex 27:9-19). Yes, God’s Temple had a wall around it.

And if that is not enough to convince the stiffnecked and biblically illiterate, in the end times, we see that the New Jerusalem will have a wall around it with 12 gates (one for each of the 12 tribes). The New Jerusalem is described in Revelation 21:9-27). Revelation 21:12-13 says, “And HAD A WALL GREAT AND HIGH, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel: 13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates. ” Why is this wall going to be built?? Revelation21:27 “And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb’s book of life.” The wall is to keep sinners out of the Kingdom (Heaven).

Listen closely as the bible uses the word “without” meaning OUTSIDE THE WALLS:

“Revelation 22:14-15 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without (outside the walls) are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.”

The Bible also speaks of God being a “wall” or “hedge” of protection surrounding those who abide in Him (Job 1:10)(Zech 2:5)(Ps 34:7)(Ps 5:12)(Hos 2:6-7).

Without getting into another study, sure, we are to protect the downtrodden and not just “wall” ourselves off figuratively or physically. The problem with the professing, apostate church today is they never go outside their 4 WALLS and do the work of the LORD! They are “Sunday morning Christians” or CINO’s (Christians In Name Only)! To those who say a person, business or country can’t protect themselves with a wall, wake up before your foolish soul ends up behind the greatest wall of them all the wall (GREAT GULF FIXED), the vast impassable abyss between hellfire and Heaven! Be a “Lazarus”, not a “Rich Man”! Will YOU hear the LAW and the Prophets (The Inspired Holy Bible), the Holy Word of God? What side of the ULTIMATE & ETERNAL WALL will you be on at your last breath (Judgment)?

Hebrews 9:27 “And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:”

We will conclude with the following truth:

Luke 16:19-31 “There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: 20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, 21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man’s table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham’s bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; 23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. 24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. 25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. 26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence. 27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house: 28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment. 29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them. 30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. 31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”
