Zionism is basically the concept that the Jewish people are entitled to have an independent Jewish state that is on the land which had been known as the land of Israel and came to be known as Palestine.  Here are eight quick points to refute Zionism Biblically and to demonstrate the sin involved in supporting Zionism (as is so common now among professing Christians).

1)  God taught in utter opposition to Zionism through Moses.  

Deuteronomy 4:25-26: “When thou shalt beget children, and children’s children, and ye shall have remained long in the land, and shall corrupt yourselves, and make a graven image, or the likeness of any thing, and shall do evil in the sight of the Lord thy God, to provoke him to anger: I call heaven and earth to witness against you this day, that ye shall soon utterly perish from off the land whereunto ye go over Jordan to possess it; ye shall not prolong your days upon it, but shall utterly be destroyed.”

Deuteronomy 28:20-21: “The Lord shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me.  The Lord shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it.”

2)  To be a Zionist is to deny the significance of God’s decisive judgment on the Jewish nation in AD 70 which Jesus and the Apostles warned of. 

3)  God’s covenant is with the Christian church- since the Christian church is the true Israel.  

The Bible shows in Ephesians chapter 2 how authentic Christians have been brought into Israel’s covenant with God.  Natural Jews who reject Jesus Christ have no part in this covenant.  Hence, they are not in His favor.  God has no alternative covenant for Jews who will not have Jesus Christ to reign over them.

Psalm 125:4-5: “Do good, O Lord, unto those that be good, and to them that are upright in their hearts.  As for such as turn aside unto their crooked ways, the Lord shall lead them forth with the workers of iniquity: but peace shall be upon Israel.”

Romans 9:6-8: “Not as though the word of God hath taken none effect.  For they are not all Israel, which are of Israel: Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.  That is, They which are the children of the flesh, these are not the children of God: but the children of the promise are counted for the seed.”

Galatians 6:15-16: “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.  And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, and upon the Israel of God.”

Being a physical descendant of Abraham does not put one in covenant with God.  Ishmael and Esau prove this.  The Apostle Paul said this much in Romans chapter 9.  Jews who do not obediently believe in Jesus Christ are not God’s chosen people nor among God’s chosen people.  It is that simple. 

4)  Accepting Zionism is spiritually yoking with the darkness of the Jews who reject Jesus Christ.

Psalm 122, a common Scripture which Zionists in churches will often resort to, actually proves that those who apply Psalm 122 to modern Jerusalem are basically confessing that they are spiritual brethren and companions of Jews in their rejection of Jesus Christ.

Psalm 122:6-9: “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.  Peace be within thy walls, and prosperity within thy palaces.  For my brethren and companions’ sakes, I will now say, Peace be within thee.  Because of the house of the Lord our God I will seek thy good.”

God’s house in Jerusalem was destroyed by the Romans in AD 70.

Also, Jeremiah 6:8 says: “Be thou instructed, O Jerusalem, lest my soul depart from thee; lest I make thee desolate, a land not inhabited.”  

Zionists do not receive this.  That is why they apply Psalm 122 to Jerusalem today.

2 John 9-11: “Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God.  He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son.   If there come any unto you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into your house, neither bid him God speed: For he that biddeth him God speed is partaker of his evil deeds.”

This must include supporting Jews who reject Jesus Christ and supporting modern Israel as if they are God’s people.  

It is rather proper now to regard the modern nation of Israel as a byword representing those cursed by God.

1 Kings 9:6-9: “But if ye shall at all turn from following me, ye or your children, and will not keep my commandments and my statutes which I have set before you, but go and serve other gods, and worship them: Then will I cut off Israel out of the land which I have given them; and this house, which I have hallowed for my name, will I cast out of my sight; and Israel shall be a proverb and a byword among all people: And at this house, which is high, every one that passeth by it shall be astonished, and shall hiss; and they shall say, Why hath the Lord done thus unto this land, and to this house?  And they shall answer, Because they forsook the Lord their God, who brought forth their fathers out of the land of Egypt, and have taken hold upon other gods, and have worshiped them, and served them: therefore hath the Lord brought upon them all this evil.”

5)  The fruit of the Zionist movement, which has led to the re-establishment of Israel as a political nation, is evil.

There was no Christian revival among the Jews preceding Israel becoming a nation again in 1948.  This could have not happened then because the Jews were in God’s favor.  To say otherwise is to claim there is a way to be in covenant with God apart from receiving and obediently following Jesus Christ as the true Messiah.  Such a claim is blasphemous.

1948 was Satan’s restoration of Israel; not God’s.  That is proven by how God’s own moral law was violated innumerably in the events which directly caused this restoration to happen.  1948 to the present has been a continuous ethnic cleansing of the Palestinians who lawfully inhabited the land.

Would Israel even have its own pretend to be foreigners who murder and cause terror in order to draw America to help to fight its wars?  It is already known to have happened.  The Lavon Affair of 1954.  The mainstream media is unlikely to remind you of it.

6) It is committing the sin of partiality to give into the demands of certain groups of people in a way that involves murder and stealing from others.  

You cannot obey the admonition of Micah 6:8 to do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God if there is partiality in you.  Zionism inherently promotes partiality.

7)  Israel’s very own flag proves that it is a satanic nation (and that is not really the star of David on it).

8)  Zionism is a Jewish myth.  We are commanded in Titus 1:14 to not give heed to Jewish fables in order to be sound in the Christian faith.
