2nd Thessalonians Chapter 1
Author: 2 Thessalonians 1:1 indicates that the Book of 2 Thessalonians was written by the apostle Paul, probably along with Silas and Timothy.
Date of Writing: The Book of 2 Thessalonians was likely written in AD 51-52.
Purpose of Writing: The church in Thessalonica still had some misconceptions about the Day of the Lord. They thought it had come already so they stopped with their work. They were being persecuted badly. Paul wrote to clear up misconceptions and to comfort them. Also direction in holy living is exhorted with clear examples of the eternal tourment that comes on those who “obey not the Gospel”.

2Th 1:1 “Paul, and Silvanus, and Timotheus, unto the church of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2Th 1:2 Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Thanksgiving
2Th 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
2Th 1:4 So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your PERSECUTIONS and TRIBULATIONS that ye endure:
The Judgment at Christ’s Coming
2Th 1:5 Which is a manifest TOKEN OF THE RIGHTEOUS JUDGMENT of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

BE A LAZARUS, NOT A “RICH MAN”

2Th 1:6 Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;

The Man of Lawlessness
2Th 2:1 “Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him,
2Th 2:2 That ye be not soon SHAKEN IN MIND (SHAKEN FROM TRUE FAITH), or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us (AS FORGERY/AN IMPOSTER), as that the day of Christ is at hand. (IMMINENT – THIS LIVING WORD WAS WRITTEN 2,000 YEARS AGO AND THEY CLEARLY STATE, BY INSPIRATION OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, THAT JESUS’ RETURN IS IMMINENT)
2Th 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means (A TRUE CHRISTIAN CAN BE DECEIVED FROM THE FAITH): for that day (THE FINAL COMING OF JESUS) shall not come, except there come A FALLING AWAY FIRST, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
How can anybody deny the FALLING AWAY as if it isn’t mentioned in the Bible? It’s spelled out in Black and White! It’s in FULL SWING NOW and those who deny it may have already become a part of it.
Matthew 24:10-11 “And then shall many BE OFFENDED (fall away), and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another. 11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall DECEIVE MANY.”
Matthew 24:24 “For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
Matthew 11:6 “And blessed is he, whosoever shall not BE OFFENDED (fall away) in me.”
1 Timothy 4:1 “Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall DEPART FROM THE FAITH, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils; Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared 2 with a hot iron.”
2Th 2:4 Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

2Th 2:6 And now ye know what withholdeth that he might be revealed in his time. (GOD HAS PERFECT ORDER / TIMING)
2Th 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way. (THERE IS A GREAT SYSTEM OF CORRUPT DOCTRINE IN “99%” OF THE “CHURCHES” TODAY. ALL OF A SUDDEN ALL WHO HAVE “ITCHING EARS” WILL BE FULLY AWAY OF THEIR HERESY)
Col 1:26 “Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints”
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall CONSUME with the SPIRIT of his MOUTH (THE TRUTH SPOKEN), and shall DESTROY with the BRIGHTNESS of his coming: (JESUS/GOD WILL DESTROY THE DEVIL SLOWLY AS THE TRUTH EATS HIM UP… AND ALL THE UNBELIEVERS INCLUDING THE DECEIVED, LUKEWARM “CHRISTIANS” WILL BE “SPEWED OUT” IN TO THE ETERNAL LAKE OF FIRE)
HOW IS ONE JUDGED” BY THEIR “WORKS”…
Revelation 3:15-16 “I KNOW THY WORKS, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. 16 So then because thou art LUKEWARM, and neither cold nor hot, I will SPUE THEE OUT OF MY MOUTH.”
2Th 2:9 Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,
2Th 2:10 And with all deceivableness of UNRIGHTEOUSNESS in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.
HOW TO YOU LOVE JESUS AND RECEIVE HIS TRUTH?
Proverbs 7:2 “KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, AND LIVE; and my law as the apple of thine eye.”
Daniel 9:4 “And I prayed unto the LORD my God, and made my confession (TRULY REPENTED), and said, O Lord, the great and dreadful God, keeping the covenant and mercy to THEM THAT LOVE HIM, and to them that KEEP HIS COMMANDMENTS”
John 14:15 “IF ye love me, KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS.”
John 15:10 “IF YE KEEP MY COMMANDMENTS, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father’s commandments, and abide in his love.”
John 15:14 “Ye are my friends, IF YE DO WHATSOEVER I COMMAND YOU”
IF YOU ARE LAWLESS AND DISOBEY GOD (YOU WILLFULLY SIN AGAINST A HOLY GOD)
2Th 2:11 And for this cause GOD SHALL SEND THEM A STRONG DELUSION, that they should BELIEVE A LIE: (AS “99%” OF THE “PASTORS ARE SPEWING FROM THE PULPITS TODAY – GOD DOES NOT SEND THIS DELUSION TO OVERRIDE FREE WILL, HE SENDS IT AFTER ONE MAKES THE DECISION TO NOT OBEY HIS MORAL LAW – THINK PHARAOH)
2Th 2:12 That THEY ALL MIGHT BE DAMNED who believed not the truth, but had PLEASURE IN UNRIGHTEOUSNESS (PLEASURE IN SIN).
DO YOU HAVE MOSES’ FAITH?
Hebrews 11:23-28 “BY FAITH Moses, when he was born, was hid three months of his parents, because they saw he was a proper child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment. 24 By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; 25 CHOOSING rather TO SUFFER AFFLICTION with the people of God, THAN TO ENJOY THE PLEASURES OF SIN FOR A SEASON; 26 ESTEEMING THE REPROACH OF CHRIST greater riches than the treasures in Egypt: for he had respect unto the recompence of the reward. 27 BY FAITH he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for HE ENDURED, as seeing him who is invisible. 28 THROUGH FAITH he kept the passover, and the SPRINKLING OF THE BLOOD, lest he that destroyed the firstborn should touch them.”
GOD’S WRATH ABIDES ON THE SINNER
John 3:36 “He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not (MEANING DOES NOT OBEY – A SINNER) the Son shall not see life; but the WRATH (ANGER/CONDEMNATION) of God abideth on him.”
Stand Firm
2Th 2:13 But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth:
2Th 2:14 Whereunto he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.
2Th 2:15 Therefore, brethren, STAND FAST (CONDITION), and HOLD THE TRADITIONS WHICH YE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT, whether by word, or our epistle.
2Th 2:16 Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,

Pray for Us
2Th 3:1 Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free course, and be glorified, even as it is with you:
2Th 3:2 And that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
A TRUE CHRISTIAN IS HATED
Matthew 24:9-13 “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, AND SHALL KILL YOU: and YOU SHALL BE HATED of all nations for MY name’s sake. 10 And then SHALL MANY BE OFFENDED (BY THE TRUTH), and shall betray one another, and SHALL HATE ONE ANOTHER. 11 And MANY FALSE PROPHETS SHALL (HAVE) ARISE, and shall DECEIVE MANY. 12 And because iniquity shall abound, THE LOVE OF MANY (HAS) SHALL WAX COLD. 13 But HE THAT SHALL ENDURETH UNTIL THE END (LIVING HOLY), the same shall be SAVED.”
Matthew 10:21-22 “And the brother shall deliver up the brother to death, and the father the child: and the children shall rise up against their parents, and cause them to be put to death. 22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.”

WHOM DO THE ANGELS ENCAMP AROUND?
Psalm 34:7 “The angel of the LORD encampeth round about THEM THAT FEAR HIM, and delivereth them.”
Psalm 111:10 “The FEAR of the LORD is the BEGINNING OF WISDOM: a good understanding have all they that DO HIS COMMANDMENTS: his praise endureth for ever.”

2Th 3:4 And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, THAT YE BOTH DO (LIVING CURRENTLY IN HOLINESS) AND WILL DO (ENDURE ‘TIL THE END) THE THINGS WE COMMAND YOU.
Matthew 10:22 “And YE SHALL BE HATED OF ALL MEN for my name’s sake: but he that ENDURETH TO THE END shall be SAVED.”
2Th 3:5 And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
Warning Against Idleness
2Th 3:6 Now WE COMMAND YOU, BRETHREN, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye WITHDRAW YOURSELVES from every brother THAT WALKETH DISORDERLY (THAT SINS), and not after the tradition which he received of us.
2Th 3:7 For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;
Philippians 3:18-20 “Brethren, be followers together of me, and mark them which walk so as ye have us for an ensample. 18 (For MANY WALK, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even weeping, that they ARE THE ENEMIES OF THE CROSS OF CHRIST: 19 WHOSE END IS DESTRUCTION, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.) 20 For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ.”

2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that IF ANY WOULD NOT WORK, NEITHER SHOULD HE EAT.
2Th 3:11 For we hear that there are some which walk among you DISORDERLY, working not at all, but are busybodies.
2Th 3:6 “Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.”

CHRISTIAN CHARITY OR ETERNAL PUNISHMENT
Matthew 25:41-46 “Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into EVERLASTING FIRE, prepared for the devil and his angels: 42 For I was an hungred, and YE GAVE ME NO MEAT (FOOD): I was thirsty, and YE HAVE ME NO DRINK: 43 I was a stranger, and YE TOOK ME NOT IN: naked, and YE CLOTHED ME NOT: sick, and in prison, and YE VISITED ME NOT . 44 Then shall they also answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, or athirst, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and DID NOT MINISTER UNTO THEE? 45 Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, INASMUCH AS YE DID IT NOT TO ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE, YE DID IT NOT TO ME. 46 And these shall go away into EVERLASTING PUNISHMENT: but the RIGHTEOUS into LIFE ETERNAL.”
2Th 3:14 And IF ANY MAN OBEY NOT OUR WORD by this epistle, NOTE THAT MAN, and HAVE NO COMPANY WITH HIM, THAT HE MAY BE ASHAMED.
Leviticus 19:17 “Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart: thou shalt in any wise REBUKE THY NEIGHBOUR, and NOT SUFFER SIN UPON HIM.”
