This Simple Truth Proves Calvinism is One Big Lie

The first point of Calvinism is Total Depravity.  This is basically the concept that man cannot repent towards God unless God regenerates him to new life.  Calvinism claims that this regeneration to new life happens irresistibly.  Calvinism teaches then that this irresistible regeneration causes repentance towards God.  These Calvinistic principles lead to the conclusion that new life in Christ goes before repentance rather than afterwards.

Calvinism thus teaches life unto repentance rather than repentance unto life.

To attempt to prove this conclusion false would be to strike at the very foundation of Calvinism.

To successfully prove this conclusion false would demonstrably prove that Calvinism is all one big lie.

The basic Calvinist principle that new life in Christ must come before repentance towards God is indeed proven false simply by how the Bible teaches that repentance towards God goes before new life rather than coming afterwards.

Acts 2:38: “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”

Note that receiving Christ’s Holy Spirit is spiritual regeneration.

Acts 11:18: “When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.”

The Bible thus teaches that it is repentance unto life; not life unto repentance.

This simple truth destroys the doctrine of Total Depravity, the first point of Calvinism which the whole system depends upon.  One point falling means that the entire system of Calvinism falls- since every other point of Calvinism depends on its first point.

Those who try to say then that Calvinism is an acceptable, proper Christian theology are in major error and are leading people astray.  Those who try to say that Calvinism is partially true (one, two, three, four, point, or four and a half point Calvinists) are embracing error.  They are illogical as well.  The same can be said of those who claim that Calvinism is true from one perspective but not necessarily from another- along with those who illogically claim that they are both a Calvinist and not a Calvinist at the same time.

It is only logical to conclude that Calvinism is totally a lie and making it sound as if it is not really evil is justifying wickedness.  Spiritual fellowship with Calvinists is having fellowship with darkness.  Calvinist teachers ought to be marked and avoided as servants of the devil.
