The Strong Correlation Between Absalom and the Fake Jesus of Unconditional Acceptance

The character in the Bible which most resembles how multitudes picture Jesus is actually not Jesus.  It is rather Absalom, the evil son of King David who rebelled against his father and sought to usurp his throne.

Isaiah 53:1-3 speaks of the then coming Messiah.  “Who hath believed our report?  and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?  For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.  He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.”

The real Jesus incarnate was not physically beautiful.  He certainly did not have long hair and was not stylish.  He did not draw people to Himself through exhibiting a charismatic personality and telling people what they wanted to hear.  Yet you would never know this by the popular and common fake Jesus image which has caused the world to think of Him this way.  However, there is one whom the preceding description applies well to- Absalom.

2 Samuel 14:25-26 says: “But in all Israel there was none to be so much praised as Absalom for his beauty: from the sole of his foot even to the crown of his head there was no blemish in him.  And when he polled his head, (for it was at every year’s end that he polled it: because the hair was heavy on him, therefore he polled it:) he weighed the hair of his head at two hundred shekels after the king’s weight.”

The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 11:14: “Doth not even nature itself teach you, that, if a man have long hair, it is a shame unto him?”

The men under the Nazirite vow which is described in the Law of Moses which God prescribed in His wisdom were the exception (when it comes to a man’s long hair not being a shame to him- it was still unusual and was supposed to seem unusual).  Yet the real Jesus was a Nazarene; not a Nazirite.  Therefore, He did not have long hair.

The fake jesus which resembles Absalom so greatly actually also reflects the spirit of the antichrist.  That is no wonder since, as a usurper to the throne of David (which Jesus the Son of David will reign from when He returns), Absalom himself is a Biblical type and foreshadowing of the antichrist.

Consider this key aspect of Absalom’s scheme whereby he sought to usurp the throne of David.

2 Samuel 15:2-6: “And Absalom rose up early, and stood beside the way of the gate: and it was so, that when any man that had a controversy came to the king (King David) for judgment, then Absalom called unto him, and said, Of what city art thou?  And he said, Thy servant is of one of the tribes of Israel.  And Absalom said unto him, See, thy matters are good and right; but there is no man deputed of the king to hear thee.  Absalom said moreover, Oh that I were made judge in the land, that every man which hath any suit or cause might come unto me, and I would do him justice!  And it was so, that when any man came nigh (near) to him to do him obeisance, he put forth his hand, and took him, and kissed him.  And on this manner did Absalom to all Israel that came to the king for judgment: so Absalom stole the hearts of the men of Israel.”

Telling people that they were in the right, no matter if they actually were or not, was an essential in Absalom’s wicked scheme.  Absalom was a friend of sinners in their sin.  Absalom accepted people unconditionally.  Absalom was beautiful and charismatic.  That sounds like the popular concept which many falsely have of Jesus Christ, the rightful heir to David’s throne, whom the fake long-haired character of unconditional acceptance that is called by His name is a counterfeit of and rival of in the hearts and minds of individuals.

The real Jesus spoke hard truths which confronted sin and demanded that it be forsaken- even towards people who admired Him and spoke well of Him.  That is the very opposite of Absalom and the fake jesus whom he strongly corresponds to.

The Bible also says of the coming Messiah in Isaiah 11:5: “And righteousness shall be the girdle of his loins, and faithfulness the girdle of his reins.”

The Bible also goes on to record in 2 Samuel how the prosperity of Absalom’s usurpation, though apparently successful at first, was short-lived.  The rightful king was vindicated and the people who followed Absalom were crushed by those who were faithful to David in affliction.  Those who heed this Absalom-like usurper entity which is deceitfully called “Jesus” will be crushed even worse by the true Son of David, the lawful King of mankind, along with all of His enemies.
