Misc. Points Demonstrating the Wicked Lunacy of Calvinism Pt. 2

Matthew 5:29-30 says: “And if thy right eye offend thee, pluck it out, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.  And if thy right hand offend thee, cut it off, and cast it from thee: for it is profitable for thee that one of thy members should perish, and not that thy whole body should be cast into hell.”

This is an example proving that man has responsibility to fulfill in breaking from sin which is necessary for his salvation.

God does not guarantee that anyone will fulfill that responsibility.

Calvinism justifies those living in sin who claim that they could never do otherwise unless God changes them (as if that is one hundred percent God’s responsibility and none of theirs).

Revelation 2:8-11 says: “And unto the angel of the church in Smyrna write; These things saith the first and the last, which was dead, and is alive; I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.  Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.  He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.”

The Christian’s need to exercise a living faith in Christ, which causes faithfulness to His Word unto death, proves the Calvinist concept that the personal righteousness of Christ imputed to the Christian is a lie.

Titus 2:11-14 says: “For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Savior Jesus Christ;  Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.”

This makes it obvious that if you forsake the terms of God’s grace you lose its benefits.

Many think that more grace means more looseness with sin is excused.  Yet the Bible rebukes this concept over and over and over.  Books such as Titus, 1 Peter, 2 Peter, and Jude are specifically dedicated to rebuking this concept.

Many Calvinists and other unconditional eternal security believers will tell open heathens that the sins they are committing will send them to hell- yet they wouldn’t tell those in their own camp that they’ll go to hell for doing the very same things.  This breeds partiality, double standards, and hypocrisy.  No wonder.  Calvinism actually pins these very things upon God Himself.

We see in Ezekiel chapters 18 and 33 that both the wicked and the righteous are to be warned that committing sin will lead to their damnation.

1 Peter 5:8-9 warns Christian Apostolic church members: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.”

And 2 Peter 3:13-17 also warns the same: “Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.  Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.  And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest (or, twist), as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction.  Ye therefore, beloved, seeing ye know these things before, beware lest ye also, being led away with the error of the wicked, fall from your own steadfastness.”

A Christian can indeed be devoured by Satan.  It is silly to think that being led away with the error of the would logically mean something contrary to that.

Ephesians, a letter written to real Christians, says in Ephesians 5:5-7 says: “For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.  Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.  Be not ye therefore partakers with them.”

If only people knew these like they tend to know Ephesians 2:8-9: “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.”

Imagine if a dying person with no money nor insurance were to tell a doctor who offers his services to them freely that his offer is false advertising because there are conditional terms to receiving his service.  They would rightfully be labeled as an ungrateful person who is only fit to be left to die- notwithstanding the grace which the doctor showed in his offer of free service to rescue them out of their otherwise hopeless condition.

There is no conflict between God’s sovereignty and man’s responsibility.  Yet Calvinism portrays such a conflict to exist by its twisted definition of God’s sovereignty which falsely claims that man cannot fulfill his responsibilities towards God unless God irresistibly causes him to.  To treat man’s duties toward God like this is a recipe for begetting pride in man- the very thing which Calvinists claim that Calvinism is supposed to kill.

Colossians 4:17 says: “And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received in the Lord, that thou fulfill it.”

How foolish would this admonition be if Calvinism, with its core concept of Irresistible Grace, is true?

“If God brings one into His grace, He will surely keep them there” is basically Calvinist logic.  This shows how Calvinism logically results in presumption and pride.

The Bible is truly a manual on conditional security from its opening chapters.  Conditional security is obviously opposed to unconditional security.

Acts 24:14-16 says (Paul is making his defense before a Roman Governor when he was falsely accused of the Jews): “But this I confess unto thee, that after the way which they call heresy, so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the law and in the prophets: And have hope toward God, which they themselves also allow, that there shall be a resurrection of the dead, both of the just and unjust.  And herein do I exercise myself, to have always a conscience void to offense toward God, and toward men.”

By the way: In relation to that, saying “we all have sin in our life” is the language of one who has sin in their life.

Paul admonishes the already faithful Christian laborer Timothy in 1 Timothy 1:19-20: “Holding faith, and a good conscience; which some having put away concerning faith have made shipwreck: Of whom is Hymenaeus and Alexander; whom I have delivered unto Satan, that they may learn not to blaspheme.”

This rebukes the Calvinist/unconditional eternal security concepts that a Christian’s future sins are forgiven and that a Christian could never ultimately abandon a real faith in Christ.

Titus 3:3-8 says: “For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers (various)lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.  But after that the kindness and love of God our Savior toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.  This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works.  These things are good and profitable unto men.”

This rebukes the concepts of Calvinistic concept of Irresistible Grace and Calvinistic Perseverance.  It is righteousness which is hard to maintain.  Unrighteousness takes zero effort to maintain.

1 Timothy 6:9-12 says: “But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare (a trap), and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.  But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.  Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”

And Galatians 5:7 says: “Ye did run well; who did hinder you that ye should not obey the truth?”

This also rebukes Calvinistic Irresistible Grace and Perseverance concepts.  The Galatians did run well; and the epistle makes it clear that it was not assumed they would get back on track.

Read Matthew 18:21-35.  This passage would mean nothing if a Christian’s future sins were already forgiven; and it would also mean nothing if it was not dealing with one whose sins were forgiven in the present.

Jesus tells His disciples in Matthew 24:9-13: “Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.  And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.  And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.  But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.”

The falling away which these verses describe would be meaningless activity if all of those who turned away were never really on the right track (the narrow way to eternal life in Christ) to begin with.

Acts 10:34-35 says: “Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.”

Besides rebuking the Calvinistic concept that God is basically a respecter of persons with its basic teaching that God predestines men to heaven or hell based upon a random divine lottery, this would mean nothing if any unrepentant worker of unrighteousness could be accepted with Him.

2 Timothy 2:15-19  says: “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.  But shun profane and vain babblings: for they will increase unto more ungodliness.  And their word will eat as doth a canker (a gangrene): of whom is Hymenaeus and Philetus; Who concerning the truth have erred, saying that the resurrection is past already; and overthrow the faith of some.  Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”

And 2 Peter 2:18-22 says: “For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error.  While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.  For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning.  For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them.  But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire.”

We see here that Christians being told that sinning won’t affect their standing in Christ will cause them to return to pursuing sin- which will in turn cause them to fall from grace and lose their standing in Christ.

Romans 11:19-22 warns Christians of the same: “Thou wilt say then, The branches were broken off, that I might be grafted in.  Well; because of unbelief they (ethnic Jews who reject Jesus Christ) were broken off, and thou standest by faith. Be not highminded, but fear: For if God spared not the natural branches, take heed lest he also spare not thee.  Behold therefore the goodness and severity of God: on them which fell, severity; but toward thee, goodness, if thou continue in his goodness: otherwise thou also shalt be cut off.”

Later in the same chapter we read in Romans 11:32: “For God hath concluded them all in unbelief, that he might have mercy upon all.”

This also destroys Calvinism by refuting its concept of Limited Atonement with great force, proving that God wishes to show mercy to as people as have sinned.  Calvinism also then bears false witness by denying the potential extent of the efficacy of Christ’s atonement.

Sinners love to portray themselves as victims in terms of why they sin.  Calvinistic Total Depravity influence causes them to feel justified in that evil mentality.  The same influence also makes the wicked seem justified when they protest the justice of eternal hell for unrepentant sinners.

Don’t be afraid of being too hard on Calvinists and Calvinism.  The Calvinists are extremely hard on God Himself by the evil which they falsely ascribe to Him and their portraying Him to have determined every person’s salvation through a random divine lottery which violates the Bible’s own timeless principles concerning what it means to be just and impartial.

Calvinists typically won’t use words like favoritism and coercion when they talk about God’s drawing and keeping of the allegedly elect.  Yet when Calvinism is really examined, they implicitly pin these things upon God’s character.  They would at least be more honest than they are if they actually used these words.  Either way, they present God as a moral monster.

If someone were to use Calvinist logic and make up a religion which involves some hideous practice of needlessly killing animals and drinking their blood, and then when someone says “That is so wrong and disgusting!  You make me sick!” their reply to the reaction would be “I didn’t think YOU would accept this.  Your reaction just proves you hate God.”

Calvinism is morally hideous since it portrays God to be morally hideous.

The true God is actually unpalatable to mankind because of His unbending, zealous insistence that the righteousness of His Law be submitted to and walked in by man- with the severest punishment threatened for those who will not do so.

The Calvinist on the other hand basically teaches that (the false Calvinist) god is unpalatable to man because of the partial respect of persons which Calvinism portrays Him as having.

Silly Calvinist, God is bound by His own Law.  And that is why see in Hebrews 6:18 that it is impossible for God to lie.

Deuteronomy 32:4: “He is the Rock, his work is perfect: for all his ways are judgment: a God of truth and without iniquity, just and right is he.”
