It is not hard to understand why sin, false doctrine, and corrupt man-made traditions prevail in the vast majority of churches when it is understood that humanistic compromise with darkness is one thing that most churches have in common.  Often, a key driving force behind this humanistic compromise are the church leaders who see themselves as dependent on, or at least entitled to, the income and/or status derived from their position.  They thus don’t preach the whole counsel of God set forth in the Bible without compromise nor go to the measures which the Bible prescribes in order for truth and righteousness to prevail within their church and among those in their congregation.  False doctrines and theologies which are utterly in line with this humanistic compromise with darkness are also typically at the foundation of the same churches.  The corrupt common doctrines and theologies in the churches reflect the common corrupt influences prevalent in the Bible colleges and seminaries which produce and/or influence most church leaders.  That corruption is not limited to those schools and churches which deny the divine inspiration of the entire Bible (like Liberal Protestant churches and many other Liberal churches).  It is also not limited to churches which admit themselves to be governed by writings outside of the Bible (like the Catholic Church, the Eastern Orthodox Church, Mormons, Jehovah’s Witnesses, 7th Day Adventists, etc).  Multitudes who openly confess that denying the divine inspiration of the Bible is wrong and confess that regarding extra-biblical teachings as authoritative is wrong don’t acknowledge and properly react to corrupting leaven taught in their own church and/or which comes into their home through the internet and other media.  The following things are examples of such leaven which counterfeits and opposes the pure truth of God’s Word.

Reformation Theology: At the core of this is Monergism.  This is the concept that spiritual regeneration, and spiritual maintenance and growth as well, are exclusively the work of God.  It is a rabbit hole that leads into dark, dark places where, if logically traveled to, make God out to be the author of sin and essentially leaves God to blame for all spiritual failures.  Reformation Theology basically teaches that there is a group of unconditionally elected ones who are more special to God than everyone else on the basis of absolutely nothing besides being chosen in a random divine lottery.  Label it as evil then for what it essentially concludes: It makes God out to be the author of evil, it justifies both the devil and rebellious mankind in their sins, it makes God out to be a villain by sending them to hell, and it makes God out to be a partial respecter of persons who unconditionally chooses to save some but not others.  

Dispensationalism: Dispensationalism discounts that the earliest Christians were Jews who operated on the foundation stones of the Jewish Scriptures (the Old Testament).  It discounts that Jesus and the Apostles illustrated salvation by grace through faith using Old Testament examples and people.  Dispensationalism does not provide a faithful reference for righteous living since it removes the force of the moral principles of the Law of God as a definite reference for this.  Dispensationalists often take moral principles from the Old Testament (and also from the New Testament in many cases) and say “Oh, that was only for the Jews.”  The evil concept that Jesus can be your Savior while not really being honored and followed as Lord is fostered by Dispensational heresy.  Like Reformation Theology (which it is influenced by), Dispensationalism denies that genuine saving faith in Christ is obedient to Him for who He is (the Lord and Savior- the Passover Lamb had to be totally eaten without leaven for the Passover blood to deliver from God’s judgment).   Closely connected here is OSAS (once saved always saved) or unconditional eternal security doctrine which the Bible repeatedly teaches contrary to.  Support of modern Israel, treating it as if it is God’s nation, is a key consequence of Dispensationalism- since it falsely teaches that God has a separate covenant with Jews who reject Jesus as the Messiah than the covenant He has with the Christian church.  In doing so it does not account that the Christian church is the true spiritual Israel (like Galatians 6:16 plainly shows).  The widespread belief in the pre-tribulation rapture doctrine is another consequence of the vast influence of Dispensationalism.  

Pentecostalism (think unintelligible tongues): Babbling in unintelligible tongues in the name of Christ is madness and confusion.  Every instance of the gift of tongues from God being exercised in the Bible involved the speaking of a language of earth which could be verified as such by those who spoke that language naturally.  Likewise, the gift of interpreting tongues from God would involve translating a language of earth into another language of earth- all of which could be verified by natural speakers of the same languages.  So, what is all this babbling in unintelligible tongues among many in churches now and in private prayers?  It is a counterfeit of the Holy Spirit’s work and a massive waste of time.  The same goes for the sensual dancing and highly repetitive, hypnotic choruses which are prevalent (but not limited to) the same circles where these false tongues are said to be the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.  The reality that Pentecostals along with the Charismatics, Word of Faith people, etc. (which have branched from the Pentecostalism begat in the early 20th century) typically believe women can be pastors over men is a major red flag in itself.  They are guided by feeling and emotion; not by the Word of God.  All this fakeness and error produces a phony definition of righteousness. 

Marcionism: Many are influenced by a heresy which goes back to the 2nd century AD to a man named Marcion.  Marcion taught that the God of the Old Testament is a different God than the God of the New Testament.  Many now arrive at Marcion’s conclusions without blatantly saying that the God of the Old Testament is not the Father of Jesus Christ.  They do this by claiming that Jesus taught a higher or better law than what God taught through Moses in the Old Testament.  They also teach that God is less violent and wrathful now than He was in Old Testament times.  This practically means that they teach unrighteous things like Pacifism as the Christian standard when Jesus’ teachings in the Gospels on non-resistance were actually a clarification and a vindication of Moses’ Law.  Jesus proved that the Law of Moses itself forbids vengeance on a personal level.  When He said to turn the other cheek, He was not saying to not have a gun, to not shoot the guy who is trying to kill you, to not be a soldier or a law enforcement officer, to not protect your home from intruders, to not support appropriate judicial punishment for convicted criminals, etc.  You can’t have authentic revival when good is labeled as evil and vice-versa nor when the righteous wrath and vengeance of God are denied or minimized.

Judaizing: Perhaps as a spurious overreaction to Marcionism in some cases many now try to be Jews outwardly, not accounting that God released gentile Christians from the Jewish ceremonies and Jewish ritualistic customs through the council of the Apostles in Acts chapter 15.  He later released the Jewish Christians from the same by the practical means of the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem in AD 70.  The Temple has never been rebuilt.  Judaism cannot be faithfully practiced without this and without the Levitical Priesthood (which can’t be properly established even if the Temple were to be rebuilt because of the destruction of the Jewish genealogical records).  The Apostle Paul warned in the Book of Galatians about the damning error of practicing Judaism after God has told you not to do so anymore.  

Of course, these falsehoods and the overall spirit of Humanism which are already woven into the fabric of most churches are surely capable of producing counterfeit Christian revival, of turning many from a real living faith in Christ, and of yet making multitudes two-fold the children of hell.
