Modern Israel

Are People Really Cursed for Not Supporting Modern Israel? (Short Version)

The Zionists threaten people by quoting the blessing which God gave to Abraham in Genesis 12:1-3- as if those who support the nation of Israel now are blessed while those who don’t do so are cursed.  But is that really so?

Genesis 12:1-3 says: “Now the Lord had said unto Abram (who became Abraham), Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”

Does this blessing apply to Abraham’s natural descendants just for being his natural descendants?  Of course not.  This was also made very, very clear in the Law of Moses and throughout the Old Testament.  The Lord directly threatened Israel with His curse on several occasions and frequently regarded Israel as cursed due to their sins.

He even spoke to Israel with the following direct statement in Malachi 3:9: “Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.”

John the Baptist clearly warned the natural Israelites with a warning which the Zionists suppress.  This warning obliterates their ism which is based upon the utterly deceitful claim that natural Jews are God’s chosen people who unconditionally inherit the blessing of Abraham and the land formerly known as Canaan.

Luke 3:7-9: “Then said he (John the Baptist) to the multitude that came forth to be baptized of him, O generation of vipers, who hath warned you to flee from the wrath to come?  Bring forth therefore fruits worthy of repentance, and begin not to say within yourselves, We have Abraham to our father: for I say unto you, That God is able of these stones to raise up children unto Abraham.  And now also the ax is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.”

Learn what happened to Christ-rejecting Israel in AD 70 with the destruction of the Temple and the calamities which came upon the Jews then and throughout the next century in the Jewish war with the Romans.  The precedent laid down here only was a fulfillment of the warnings which God had already given to the disobedient Jews.  Those who say that we should bless these as if they are heirs of God’s covenant with Abraham are not only wrong, they are also justifying the wicked and thereby promoting sin.

Ultimately, God’s blessing on Abraham is applicable to the chosen seed which was promised to come through Abraham, Israel’s Messiah Jesus Christ. This blessing extends to all repentant believers in Him who live under the authority of His Word.

Galatians 3:16: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made.  He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.”

Galatians 3:29: “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Israel as a nation is not.
