God is Not Partial (Unlike His Enemies in the Synagogues and Churches)

On October 18, 2010 the Jerusalem Post reported on a controversial statement from a certain rabbi in Israel.

Here is a quote from that statement: “The sole purpose of non-Jews is to serve Jews.  Goyim (gentiles) were born only to serve us.  Without that, they have no place in the world – only to serve the People of Israel.” – Rabbi Ovadia Yosef

Did this come from some fringe rabbi in Israel which barely anyone seriously listened to?  No, the very opposite actually.

When “Rabbi” Yosef died in 2013, a statement by Israeli Prime Minister (both then and now) Benjamin Netanyahu included the following quote: “The Jewish People have lost one of the wisest men of this generation.” (that’s from the October 7, 2013 BBC article “Rabbi Ovadia Yosef: Thousands attend Jerusalem funeral”)

“Rabbi” Yosef’s funeral was said by many to have been the largest funeral in Israel’s history, attended by approximately 800,000 people.

Was Israel a special nation for God’s purposes?  Of course.  Was it a great privilege to be a part of the nation of Israel as God’s plan of redemption unfolded in their midst?  Yes.  But does this mean that those born into Israel were inherently better or more important to God than other people?  Absolutely not.

Despite all that God had done in Israel, the Messiah came to a nation of Israelites (or Jews- the terms eventually became interchangeable) who had overall not learned the lessons they should have learned.  One key lesson they had not learned is in regard to partiality (or, respect of persons) which in the Jews’ case has often been expressed in thinking that they are more important to God than non-Jews.  Jesus frequently rebuked them for this in the Gospels.  Such a rebuke actually directly resulted in Him almost being killed by the inhabitants of His hometown Nazareth in Luke chapter 4.

Luke 4:16-31: “And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up: and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read.  And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias (Isaiah).  And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.  And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down.  And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.  And he began to say unto them, This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears.  And all bare him witness, and wondered at the gracious words which proceeded out of his mouth.  And they said, Is not this Joseph’s son?  And he said unto them, Ye will surely say unto me this proverb, Physician, heal thyself: whatsoever we have heard done in Capernaum, do also here in thy country.  And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.  But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias (Elijah), when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land; But unto none of them was Elias sent, save (except) unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.  And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus (Elisha) the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.  And all they in the synagogue, when they heard these things, were filled with wrath, And rose up, and thrust him out of the city, and led him unto the brow of the hill whereon their city was built, that they might cast him down headlong.  But he passing through the midst of them went his way, And came down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.”

They were angry at Jesus because Jesus rebuked their pride related to their belief that they were more important or more valuable to God than other people due to their being ethnically Jewish.  Jesus simply pointed out, right from the Jewish Scriptures, how there were times when God chose to help gentiles and overlooked Jews.  Gentiles who have diligently sought the God of Israel with contrite hearts have had their faith rewarded with favor from God and help from God- which Israelites who did not so seek Him did not obtain.

What happened with Jesus being vehemently opposed by the people of Nazareth for simply pointing out the obvious from the Scriptures the people professed to believe would also happen in Jewish synagogues now, as well as in most Christian churches now (since most are infected by Zionist propaganda and other forms of false grace which portray God as a partial respecter of persons), if someone who spoke in them were to simply point out certain obvious truths from the Scriptures concerning God’s wrath on the Jewish people, the manifold sins which they continue in, and (in the case of the churches) how these apply to the professing Christian who lives in sin.

1 Corinthians 10:1-6: “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; And did all eat the same spiritual meat (food); And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.  But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.  Now these things were our examples, to the intent we (we Christians) should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.”

Anyone who simply states the obvious from the Bible that natural Jews who live in sin are under God’s wrath, and how God judged the Jewish nation for its rejection of Jesus as their Messiah by dispossessing them of the land which He had given them through the Romans (a judgment warned of by the Old Testament Prophets and echoed by Jesus in the Gospels), will be rejected by most professing Christian churches as well as by Jewish synagogues.

The churches’ practical lying, devilish belief  that one can turn to Jesus Christ and abide in Him while remaining in sin is strengthened, as well as evidenced by, their belief that Israel is in God’s favor while it continues in its manifold sin and rejection of Jesus Christ.

The churches practically say concerning Israel “Oh, it’s okay now.  Your ancestors dealt treacherously against God and crucified their Messiah.  And no, you haven’t learned your lesson, you’re not sorry, you continue to practice manifold sins, and you’d crucify your Messiah in a heartbeat again if you could.   But just come on back anyways.  And while you’re at it, just trample on the rights of those Arabs standing in your way who have lawfully come to occupy the land.  Don’t mind them.  They don’t matter.”

It is truly that unreasonable and blasphemous to think that God is on the side of modern Israel.

We read of how great the opposition to Jesus was among the Jews in John 9:22: “for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.”

No one in their right mind would think that things are different among the Jews now; and no one who actually reads the Bible and professes to believe it can rationally and honestly think that God’s wrath is lifted from the Jewish people now nor think it is proper to bless modern Israel while it is under God’s wrath in its sin.

All tribal pride, all respect of persons (or, partiality), and all ungodly values must be cast away in coming to Jesus Christ.  All presumptuous assumed privileges must die.   Only a fool would think that God would let a Jew, a professing Christian, or anyone else get away with evil deeds and ungodly thinking because of their heritage; and everyone who thinks they are more valuable than others because of their heritage is surely an ungodly, evil person.

The Bible is filled with examples of those of every tribe, tongue, kindred, and nation who obtained grace in God’s sight; and the Bible is also filled with examples of those from every tribe, tongue, kindred, and nation who provoked Him to anger to their own damnation.

To enable anyone, whether a natural Jew or gentile, to think that they are in covenant with God when they think they are in His special favor due to their natural heritage, or to think that they are in His favor for whatever reason as they continue in sin and opposition to Jesus Christ’s righteous reign, this is not godly love.

If you really want to love the Jewish people (or any particular group of people), don’t treat them as if they are more special than any other group of people nor enable them to think they are so special to God that He wouldn’t send them to hell for living in sin.

And you can be sure that those who think that others exist to serve them are living in sin themselves- to an extreme.

Whatever dealings the true God would actually yet have with modern Israel, and with the Jewish people as a whole, would very much involve teaching them that they don’t have the right to steal from others and oppress others because they are Jewish.  God is surely not a partial respecter of persons.  Consider then how you are actually opposing God and falsely testifying that He is a partial respecter of persons when you say the Jews have an unconditional right to the land that they have stolen from the Arabs and you help them in matters related to this endeavor.  And that is even more the case since God Himself also testified that He would drive the Jews out of that same land for their rejection of Jesus Christ, and that His wrath would especially be upon them in their rejection of Him.

Where are the churches faithfully calling Israel to repentance and obedience to its rightful King?

John 3:35-36: “The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.  He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not (that is, He that obeys not) the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.”

You cannot faithfully call Israel nor anyone to repentance and a genuine faith in Jesus Christ without walking in the same yourself- nor while treating anyone at enmity with Christ’s righteous reign like they are already in God’s grace (whether members of your own church, other professing Christians, Jews, or anyone else).

Proverbs 17:15: “He that justifieth the wicked, and he that condemneth the just, even they both are abomination to the Lord.”

God is not partial.  His grace in Jesus Christ is offered to all men; and He will condemn all those who don’t walk in His ways.

Jeremiah 23:14-22: “I have seen also in the prophets of Jerusalem an horrible thing: they commit adultery, and walk in lies: they strengthen also the hands of evildoers, that none doth return from his wickedness; they are all of them unto me as Sodom, and the inhabitants thereof as Gomorrah.  Therefore thus saith the Lord of hosts concerning the prophets; Behold, I will feed them with wormwood, and make them drink the water of gall: for from the prophets of Jerusalem is profaneness gone forth into all the land.  Thus saith the Lord of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the Lord.  They say still unto them that despise me, The Lord hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.  For who hath stood in the counsel of the Lord, and hath perceived and heard his word?  who hath marked his word, and heard it?  Behold, a whirlwind of the Lord is gone forth in fury, even a grievous whirlwind: it shall fall grievously upon the head of the wicked.  The anger of the Lord shall not return, until he have executed, and till he have performed the thoughts of his heart: in the latter days ye shall consider it perfectly.  I have not sent these prophets, yet they ran: I have not spoken to them, yet they prophesied.  But if they had stood in my counsel, and had caused my people to hear my words, then they should have turned them from their evil way, and from the evil of their doings.”
