SUPPORTING ISRAEL

Does Believing Jesus Will Return to Reign Require Supporting Israel Now?

Many connect modern Israel with the restoration of the kingdom of Israel which the Apostles of Christ asked Him about in Acts 1:6.  How can this connection be accurate when modern Israel rejects Him?  It cannot be.  Moreover, Jesus has not yet returned in person anyways.

Consider Revelation 11:15: “And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.”

Anyone who believes that this has already happened is delusionally living in a fantasy world.  The following verses (Revelation 11:16-19) make this even more obvious.

Verses such as Hebrews 2:8 prove that the Apostles simply did not view the sending of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost in Acts chapter 2 as the kingdom of Christ fully arriving.  Nevertheless, as Romans 14:17 shows, they certainly did teach that there is a limited sense in which the kingdom did arrive then.

These things actually require not supporting modern Israel.  Jerusalem now is at enmity with Jesus.  It will not be a holy city again until He returns.

The Apostle Peter even said plainly that Jews who do not receive Jesus as the Messiah and obey Him accordingly will have no part in His coming kingdom.  The following words plainly refute those who connect modern Israel with Jesus’ coming kingdom as well as those who altogether deny that Jesus will yet return to reign on earth.

Acts 3:19-24: “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.  And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began.  For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.  And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people.  Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.”
