James 4:1-4 — Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet you do not have because you do not ask. You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. Adulterers and adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

2 Corinthians 5:15 — and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.

Philippians 2:3-5 — Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself. Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others. Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,

1 Corinthians 13:5 — does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;

1 Corinthians 10:24 — Let no one seek his own, but each one the other’s well-being.

Romans 15:1-2 — We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good, leading to edification.
