Do Not Yoke With Heretics – Unequal Yoking Rebuked

Rebuke false brethren out of love for their souls. If they don’t repent after the 1st or second admonition, mark them as heretics, reject them & separate. Move on! Does God not have you busy day and night to not bother with such people who walk not in the Spirit?!? NEVER, EVER let these people in a true, Christian church(fellowship) as that is sin. Only repentant, born-again Christians are allowed in a church fellowship. Also, you are commanded to never preach with or even eat with such a man!

Gal 3:26-29, for example, is speaking to REAL brethren, not false brethren. Let’s go to the bible to get our answer:

Gal 3:26-29 “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. 27 For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

Eph 4:1-6 is taking about Unity in the Body of Christ (not false brethren)!
Eph 4:1  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,
Eph 4:2  With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;
Eph 4:3  Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Eph 4:4  There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
Eph 4:5  One Lord, one faith, one baptism,
Eph 4:6  One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

The question from the bible we must ask, and answer:

Amos 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

THE ANSWER:

Gal 1:6-9 “I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel: 7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ. 8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. 9As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, LET HIM BE ACCURSED.”

WARNING:

2Co 11:3-4 “But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ. 4 For if he that cometh preacheth another Jesus, whom we have not preached, or if ye receive another spirit, which ye have not received, or another gospel, which ye have not accepted, ye might well bear with him.”

2Co 11:12-15 “But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may be found even as we. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works.”

The Apostle Paul clearly knew that when he departed the Ephesian church, after overseeing it, grievous wolves would come in and deceive many! This is why PROPER OVERSIGHT (LOCAL ELDERS/TEACHERS/DEACONS) is so very important. We must stand fast and not condone, nor yoke with “professing christians” who obey not the whole gospel.

Act 20:29-31 “For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. 30 Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. 31 Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one night and day with tears.”
If you condone false brethren, you are as guilty as them. This goes for brethren that yoke with heretics….

Rom 1:32 “Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

If you don’t warn them, their blood is on your hands:

Eze 33:8-9 “When I say unto the wicked, O wicked man, thou shalt surely die; if thou dost not speak to warn the wicked from his way, that wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 9 Nevertheless, if thou warn the wicked of his way to turn from it; if he do not turn from his way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul.”

A LITTLE LEAVEN…

1Co 5:6-13 “Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us: 8 Therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth. 9 I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators: 10 Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world. 11 But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat. 12 For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within? 13 But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.”

THE COMMAND:

Reprove them and pray they repent, if not, reject them:
Tit 3:8-11 “This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. 9 But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. 10 A MAN THAT IS AN HERETIC AFTER THE FIRST AND SECOND ADMONITION REJECT 11 Knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.”

AND IF THEY ARE IN A LOCAL CHURCH WITH YOU, THEN MATTHEW 18 APPLIES:

Mat 18:15-18 “Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother. 16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established. 17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto the church: but if he neglect to hear the church, let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.”

Ezr 9:1  Now when these things were done, the princes came to me, saying, The people of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites, have not separated themselves from the people of the lands, doing according to their abominations, even of the Canaanites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Jebusites, the Ammonites, the Moabites, the Egyptians, and the Amorites.
Ezr 9:2  For they have taken of their daughters for themselves, and for their sons: so that the holy seed have mingled themselves with the people of those lands: yea, the hand of the princes and rulers hath been chief in this trespass.

Ezr 10:9  Then all the men of Judah and Benjamin gathered themselves together unto Jerusalem within three days. It was the ninth month, on the twentieth day of the month; and all the people sat in the street of the house of God, trembling because of this matter, and for the great rain.
Ezr 10:10  And Ezra the priest stood up, and said unto them, Ye have transgressed, and have taken strange wives, to increase the trespass of Israel.
Ezr 10:11  Now therefore make confession unto the LORD God of your fathers, and do his pleasure: and separate yourselves from the people of the land, and from the strange wives.
Ezr 10:12  Then all the congregation answered and said with a loud voice, As thou hast said, so must we do.
Ezr 10:13  But the people are many, and it is a time of much rain, and we are not able to stand without, neither is this a work of one day or two: for we are many that have transgressed in this thing.
Ezr 10:14  Let now our rulers of all the congregation stand, and let all them which have taken strange wives in our cities come at appointed times, and with them the elders of every city, and the judges thereof, until the fierce wrath of our God for this matter be turned from us.
Ezr 10:15  Only Jonathan the son of Asahel and Jahaziah the son of Tikvah were employed about this matter: and Meshullam and Shabbethai the Levite helped them.
Ezr 10:16  And the children of the captivity did so. And Ezra the priest, with certain chief of the fathers, after the house of their fathers, and all of them by their names, were separated, and sat down in the first day of the tenth month to examine the matter.
Ezr 10:17  And they made an end with all the men that had taken strange wives by the first day of the first month.

NOW, in the New Testament(1st Cor 7:12-16) if the unbelieving husband or wife will live peaceably with the believer, then the believer must bear with them. If they want to depart, then let them depart. Full study on divorce & remarriage here

Bible study notes below:

The Israelites are seduced into sin by woman(the daughters of Moab)!

Num 25:1 “And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.
Num 25:2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.
Num 25:3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.”

It was the plan of the evil one then as it is now! (Balaam was behind it)!

Num 31:15 “And Moses said unto them, Have ye saved all the women alive?
Num 31:16 Behold, these caused the children of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to commit trespass against the LORD in the matter of Peor, and there was a plague among the congregation of the LORD.”

A Christian is NEVER to yoke with a non-Christian:

Deu 7:1 “When the LORD thy God shall bring thee into the land whither thou goest to possess it, and hath cast out many nations before thee, the Hittites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Canaanites, and the Perizzites, and the Hivites, and the Jebusites, seven nations greater and mightier than thou;
Deu 7:2 And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, and utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:
Deu 7:3 Neither shalt thou make marriages with them; thy daughter thou shalt not give unto his son, nor his daughter shalt thou take unto thy son.
Deu 7:4 For they WILL turn away thy son from following me, that they may serve other gods: so will the anger of the LORD be kindled against you, and DESTROY thee suddenly.”

The Christian believer will most ALWAYS get swayed and become shipwreck from the faith by the unbeliever!

2Co 6:14 “Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
2Co 6:15 And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
2Co 6:16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
2Co 6:17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
2Co 6:18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

This is a message for people that were married as unbelievers and one comes to Jesus after…

1Co 7:12 “But to the rest speak I, not the Lord: If any brother hath a wife that believeth not, and she be pleased to dwell with him, let him not put her away.
1Co 7:13 And the woman which hath an husband that believeth not, and if he be pleased to dwell with her, let her not leave him.
1Co 7:14 For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband: else were your children unclean; but now are they holy.
1Co 7:15 But if the unbelieving depart, let him depart. A brother or a sister is not under bondage in such cases: but God hath called us to peace.
1Co 7:16 For what knowest thou, O wife, whether thou shalt save thy husband? or how knowest thou, O man, whether thou shalt save thy wife?”

This is a clear command… You are FORBIDDEN to even THINK of marrying (or otherwise yoking for that matter) with someone that is not TRULY in the FAITH! Sold out for Jesus.

Amo 3:3 “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”

Solomon did NOT listen to God’s instructions regarding marrying just believers! He started his sin by taking the daughter of Pharoah and that made his lust so much worse!

1Ki 11:1 “But king Solomon loved many strange women, together with the daughter of Pharaoh, women of the Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Zidonians, and Hittites;
1Ki 11:2 Of the nations concerning which the LORD said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall not go in to them, neither shall they come in unto you: for surely they will turn away your heart after their gods: Solomon clave unto these in love.
1Ki 11:3 And he had seven hundred wives, princesses, and three hundred concubines: and his wives turned away his heart.
1Ki 11:4 For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
1Ki 11:5 For Solomon went after Ashtoreth the goddess of the Zidonians, and after Milcom the abomination of the Ammonites.
1Ki 11:6 And Solomon did evil in the sight of the LORD, and went not fully after the LORD, as did David his father.
1Ki 11:7 Then did Solomon build an high place for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination of the children of Ammon.
1Ki 11:8 And likewise did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto their gods.
1Ki 11:9 And the LORD was angry with Solomon, because his heart was turned from the LORD God of Israel, which had appeared unto him twice,
1Ki 11:10 And had commanded him concerning this thing, that he should not go after other gods: but he kept not that which the LORD commanded.”

Men and women need to be shamefaced and alert. You want to constantly guard your eyes and heart.

Pro_6:25 “Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.”

You don’t want to be rude with anyone BUT you don’t want to yoke with or condone any sinner. You also don’t want to talk to people about things about things that are too personal and serious when courting a Christian. You need to let them know you are off limits to the unbelievers!

Much prayer is commanded especially regarding marriage. You are more likely to get in trouble if you give someone the appearance you are “available” when you are not. You may need to walk away a thousand times but trust GOD. Don’t overestimate YOUR spirituality and think you will “win” the spouse after marriage!!

Never evangelize one-on-one if someone has attraction to you even in hopes they turn to Christ It will not work. Send them to someone other than you and let them evangelize to them.

You are not to be alone with a woman whether you are are married or not! Don’t be tempted!

Pro 31:30 “Favour (CHARM) is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.”

You want to look for the fear of God in a spouse, not outward beauty. The devil is an aposter and can fake the Holy Spirit ESPECIALLY in choosing a marriage partner. Do not go by feelings. Be led by the Lord. You can easily mistake “good feelings” when they are not right. If there were a bunch of young men in a church and a new family moves (christians). The 20 men see her and the all think “she is the one for me”. Let’s say a year later that one of the men marry her and says “I knew you were the one for me the minute I saw you”. Well, we know ALL 20 men would have said that if they ended up marrying her. Beware of feelings… If there is someone that you believe is TRULY a marriage partner and you are ready for marriage, you need to go through the authority of your local church, your parents, etc and beware of those who do not honor these clear biblical boundaries. Also those who disobey the comand not to TOUCH before marriage. Careful boundaries are biblical. They should never be alone as to bring unnecessary temptation. They are not married yet! If one does not agree with these boundaries, end the relationship pronto!!

1Co 7:1 “Now concerning the things whereof ye wrote unto me: It is good for a man not to touch a woman.
1Co 7:2 Nevertheless, to avoid fornication, let every man have his own wife, and let every woman have her own husband.”

There is going to be calamity in the last days. God may know that great calamity may be coming upon you so BE PATIENT! Being single may be the optimal thing. It may make life for you so very hard. God knows things we don’t.

Luk 21:23 “But woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck, in those days! for there shall be great distress in the land, and wrath upon this people.”

TRUST!

Pro_2:7 “He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.”

You want to “DO IT YOUR WAY”??

Ecc 11:9 “Rejoice, O young man, in thy youth; and let thy heart cheer thee in the days of thy youth, and walk in the ways of thine heart, and in the sight of thine eyes: but know thou, that for all these things God will bring thee into judgment.”

The RICH MAN unstood not. I pray you do! Don’t think just because you yoke with someone they will change and see it your way, it’ usually the other way around!

Luk 16:27  “Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father’s house:
Luk 16:28  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Luk 16:29  Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
Luk 16:30  And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
Luk 16:31  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.”

REPENT!

Ecc 11:10 “Therefore remove sorrow from thy heart, and put away evil from thy flesh: for childhood and youth are vanity.”

You must stay pure:

1Co 6:20 “For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s.”

Don’t be deceived that you will receive the promise unconditionally. You must endure….

Heb 10:35 “Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.
Heb 10:36 For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Heb 10:37 For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.
Heb 10:38 Now the just shall live by faith: but if any man draw back, my soul shall have no pleasure in him.
Heb 10:39 But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.”

Easu was most likely not a fornicator and he lost his birthright for some food!!!
Heb 12:15 “Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled;
Heb 12:16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
Heb 12:17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears.”

1Th 5:22 Abstain from ALL appearance of evil.
